Playa Negra Ice Cream and Coffee Shop

I cannot say enough good things about Play Negra Ice Cream and Coffee! Visiting for the first time from the US and this is the best coffee I’ve ever had!! Not to mention the owner, Suzanna, is incredible. She is so kind, attentive and generous. She gave my friends and I a lot of great tips and suggestions on where to visit while in the beach town. The shop is located right on the beach with beautiful views of the water & palm trees. I could write an essay on how great this place is. 10/10 recommend stopping by if you’re in Puerto Viejo.

It is the best ice cream store in Puerto Viejo. Susanna is such a charming personality, and is happy to advise you on your ice cream choice. She also has fantastic coffee, which is great with a coffee ice cream. She also sells the best yogurth! it's so good and tastes just heavenly.

This was our morning ritual during our stay here in Puerto Viejo. We were excited to visit Susana everyday due to her hospitality and warmth. The coffee is the best I’ve ever had. The view is beautiful. Will not be forgetting the sweet morning visits; thank you thank you thank you for making our trip that much better. <3

Coming from the Seattle area, they had the best coffee in town. The Blake's Blend is what you need to try. Homemade ice cream and cones were amazing and the owner was really nice and helpful. Don't pass it up!

If I could give Susana at the coffee shop 10 stars I would! Amazing coffee and fresh local cream. Susana is so hospitable and friendly and her little breakfast treats are authentic and delicious! The spot couldn’t be closer to beach front and has a beautiful view of La Playa Negra. This is the kind of place that makes you want to move to a little beach town. 100% recommend and will be back!

Suzannah makes the best ice cream in town! This is a must stop if you are here. She also sells her delicious milk, butter, yogurt and several other homemade treats. The dairy comes directly from her farm and you can taste the freshness in the ice cream. Passionfruit and the cookies and cream were my favorite flavors. Shes only been here a month but her ice cream is so amazing it speaks for itself.

Such an unexpected find!!! Absolutely great coffee, homemade ice cream, yogurt and service. The owner’s family has a dairy farm that she sells products from — the mixed fruit yogurt is a must-try. We’ve only been in town a couple days and are already repeat customers!

Great slushies and ice cream! They also have milkshakes, yoghurts etc. All homemade. Definitely worth visiting!

I Literally go here every day to buy my kids the ice cream because it’s the healthiest you can get! And I also stock up on raw milk and the other dairy products! Everything tastes delicious and I love that it’s so healthy compared to regular dairy products.
