Boho Tamarindo

If you’re looking for a quiet hotel close to the beach and a short walk from the busy core of Tamarindo, look no further. Toni was easy to reach and accommodating for the entirety of our visit. What really made this place special was Snider. He cooked us wonderful breakfast each morning and was so pleasant to chat with about his life as well as ours. He went out of his way to ensure we were having the best time at the hotel. I really appreciated him accommodating my vegan diet making changes in his dishes to suit my needs. His passion for hospitality and taking care of people is unmatched. Thank you Boho Staff for the wonderful visit to Tamarindo. Highly recommend. 🫶🏼🤙🏼 pura vida 🩷

I stayed here in June of 2023 (I'm a little late on reviewing but I think this shows how good of an experience I had here). If you're looking at staying somewhere in Tamarindo this is the place! It's a quaint bed and breakfast and so nicely done. The rooms had such a great layout, the common areas were also nicely done and had a lot to offer, Jo and Greg were so accommodating and made you feel so welcomed, they have a lot of great recommendations, the location was perfect and within walking distance to the town/beaches, they booked a ride back to the airport for us, and also accommodated my food sensitivity to gluten. When I tell you the breakfast was some of the best food I have had and it was all gluten free. The food literally looked and tastes like a 5 star restaurant! I also put in the notes that I was celebrating my 30th birthday when booking and they surprised me with balloons, a cute little birthday sign, and some Costa Rican chocolate! It was so sweet and thoughtful. I will note that during the rainy season there are tiny ants that come in the room but they provided raid in the rooms and we never found any in our bed or anything. This wasn't negative for us because we camp and enjoy nature but if you're someone who doesn't like bugs you may want to stay here during their dryer season.

Beautiful hotel with a wonderful staff. Toni set up transportation to and from the airport for me. It helped make my trip seamless. Toni provided outstanding recommendations. The hotel is walking distance to the beach and everything Tamarindo has to offer. The breakfast was delicious and made to order every morning. The chef is top notch and I enjoyed conversing with him. I highly recommend staying at boho Tamarindo as the hotel is brand new with beautiful rooms and a perfect layout. I will be back!

If I were ever to come back to Tamarindo, I would 100% stay at Boho again. Jo and Greg were the best hosts I have ever had! Jo was very responsive and even let us check in early. She went through everything we needed to know, and gave us fabulous recommendations (Patagonia was DELICIOUS). The room was pristine and clean, the pool was great, and our lovely hosts made us breakfast every morning. Such a great way to start the day. The location is intimate, tucked away off the main road and away from the craziness from downtown, but a 3 minute walk to the beach and the food trucks. It was nice and quiet, and we enjoyed talking to the other guests. When our boat tour got cancelled, Jo was quick to work with the local company and get us set up on another one. 10/10 stay!

We loved staying at this elegant yet simple and very quiet hotel. The location was perfect-a five minute walk into town and a two minute walk to the beach. When we had an early morning excursion Johanna fixed us a nice bagged lunch with sandwiches and drinks since we wouldn't be there for morning breakfast. Food was delicious and Johanna was the perfect host. Lala the cat was really friendly. Enjoyed capping off our days with swimming at night and listening to the house geckos squeak and watching them try to eat the moths. It's the small things that make this charming hotel worth visiting. I would 100 percent stay here again. Rooms were spacious and beds were comfortable.

Our stay at Boho was so relaxing, just the prescription needed for high stress at work to be in Tamarindo and to stay in this oasis. I loved that everything was walking distance to the hotel, it was safe, the beds and pillows are comfortable, rooms are clean and the pool is lovely. Breakfast everyday was delicious prepared with care and attention from Johanna and her husband. We loved our stay and wish we had stayed longer.

This accommodation is exactly as it looks in the pictures! Beautiful, secluded, and quaint. Johanna and staff are all incredibly welcoming and accommodating (packing us a snack for a day we'd miss breakfast due to an early excursion). This property is in a fantastic location! A few minute walk from the beach (which we absolutely took advantage of) and close to a wide variety of restaurants all within walking distance.

The breakfast/common courtyard is an inviting and wonderful place to enjoy the delicious provided breakfast and drink your coffee at while hearing and sometimes spying monkeys early in the morning. The pool is the perfect size for the number of guests the property can accommodate and always sparkling clean.

The rooms are beautiful, modern, and very bohemian. They have all the amenities you could need (pool towels, bath towels, hanging closet area where you can also store your luggage, safe, and A/C), and are incredibly clean. The only minor inconvenience I will note was the many ants we killed on our (3) night stay. I believe it was just the time of year we were traveling. Johanna did provide Raid in the common kitchen on our first night and had housekeeping spray during their rounds as well which definitely assisted in keeping the ants at bay.

All in all despite the minor ant inconvenience, the energy/communication of the owners/staff and the absolutely beautiful, strategically located property make this place a winner in our books. They have amazing attention to detail, providing a bottle of sparkling wine, a beautiful "Happy Honeymoon" sign, and heart shaped balloon to welcome us when we entered the room. Thank you for an incredibly enjoyable stay we will highly recommend Boho Tamarindo to others!

This is a perfect B&B! Beautiful spot 3 min walk from the beach but far enough away that it’s quiet! Rooms were clean and comfy. Breakfast was great. We loved sitting on the shared outdoor patio watching the jungle for monkeys. Joanna is a great host. We were greeted and immediately offered a beer! Perfect welcome. Would definitely stay here again. In fact, I wish I could live here!

The rooms are clean and cute. Thoughtful details are all around the property. The owner is also amazing! She is super nice and does whatever she can to take care of guests. We had an early tour one day so couldn’t make the breakfast time that day so her husband made snacks for us to take with us on the tour instead. The property is nestled away nicely and is very quiet. It has some nice seating areas to relax outside since our room didn’t have anywhere to sit besides the bed. Highly recommend!

I recently performed a property inspection at Boho. The place is less than two years old. Quality construction was used. No shortcuts were taken. The place was laid out nicely, and it's very peaceful ✌ here. There is a housemom there 24/7 to assist you with anything. I am hopeful that the new owners will continue with the same quality of service that the current owner is providing.

I didn't stay at the hotel but I can see it's an awesome place 😎. It's close to the heart of Tamarindo, and you'd never know it was there as it's secluded.

Boho exceeded all of our expectations. The pictures were lovely, and it was even better in person. Check in was very easy and Johanna was warm and welcoming. She showed where to go and what to do for food and activities in the area. All of her recommendations were excellent. She even booked us a catamaran cruise which was a ton of fun. The room was so beautiful and perfect for what we needed. Very comfortable and a great spot to relax after a very busy day. The pool was also a nice bonus, very clean and comfortable. There were also several nice lounge areas to enjoy the outdoors. The included breakfast was especially nice. Greg made an excellent breakfast for us that helped start the day. They even offered to pack us breakfast for an early morning out, which was so kind and convenient. The location was also perfect. A very short walk to beach access with Playa Langosta on one side and Playa Tamarindo directly at your feet. It was also very close to many good restaurants and lots of shopping. Johanna and Greg - thank you for your generosity and hospitality. We will absolutely be back!

By far one of the best places I've stayed. I travel a lot 32 countries now. And I'd come back just for this place.

The owners are so nice. Our bags didn't come in and she gave me flip flops and helped stay in touch with the bag delivery. Breakfast every morning is great. And the pool and lounge area are so relaxing.

We were looking to stay at a surf hotel in town and sooooo glad we chose here. Way quieter and relaxing.

My wife and I come here every year. The place is perfect and a two minute walk to downtown. Everything is clean and comfy. Sometimes, we don't even leave the place and just hang out in our room or by the pool. We love it!

Fantastic accommodation a stone-throw from the beach. The owners, Johanna and Greg, were super warm and welcoming and you can feel and see the love and passion they put into creating this space. The rooms are great and smartly proportioned, the pool is just fantastic anytime of the day, clean and water temperature was great. Breakfast was freshly prepared with care every morning and Johanna was so kind to prepare a little take away breakfast for me as I left at 6.45 two of the mornings we stayed in order to go surf. Highly recommended, we will come back!

We had an amazing stay at Boho Tamarindo. The room was very clean and comfortable, in a beautiful setting. The location was great, with easy access to all of Tamarindo. The highlight was the amazing breakfast prepared by our hosts every morning. We would 100% recommend staying here. Thanks Johanna and Greg!

We absolutely loved everything about this accommodation. This was definitely the best place during our 3 week trip. Johanna & Greg had a perfect level of hospitality and were always helpful but never intrusive. We also really enjoyed the privacy and of course the wonderful yoga/chill/massage deck. Our daily highlight was the delicious breakfast. We were looking forward to it every morning. It was by far the most delicious and also most lovingly prepared breakfast in Costa Rica :)
Another highlight were the mosquito nets on every window and even a mosquito net sliding door. We really enjoyed lying in bed listening to the thunderstorm and feeling the fresh breeze through the open window. For some people this will be a small thing, but for someone who is really afraid of eight-legged creatures, it was just heavenly. I felt more comfortable and safe than in any other accommodation.

Boho was the perfect place to stay in Tamarindo. The location is a five minute walk to the beach, restaurants and shops. The room was spacious and clean. Jo & Greg made breakfast every morning, which was much more than initially expected, and was a great start to the day. The day we had an early excursion we were missing breakfast so they even packed us a lunch to go which was very thoughtful. Jo was always readily available and present during our stay and was always eager to provide any assistance or recommendations. Parking is available on site. We both would definitely recommend and stay again!

WOW! What a wonderful little spot. Andrea's communication was fantastic throughout the booking and during our stay. We were celebrating our honeymoon and she made a fantastic effort to put balloons and prosecco in our room upon arrival. The rooms, pool and communal areas were very tidy. Great parking facilities. Only a 5 minute walk into town and the beach. The breakfast was different every morning and involved juice a huge bowl of fruit and a hot plate. Andrea was very helpful and booked some of our excursions with us. We will definitely be coming back - thank you for such a wonderful stay and being an amazing host!

We stayed at BoHo Tamarindo for a part of our 2 weeks in Costa Rica for our wedding in April 2022. This is such a beautiful boutique hotel! The pool and lounge areas were comfortable and fun to hang out around, and our room was spacious and stylish. The morning breakfast was delicious! You could tell the owner Johanna has put her heart and soul into this place! She was so friendly and genuinely took the time to get to know each guest staying at the hotel. I would highly recommend staying here!

BoHo Tamarindo is extremely well located, only 1 min away from the beach where you can chill with a Coco Loco or surf, 2 min from the main street where you find all restaurants, bars, etc. All that while being in a relaxing place, not feeling the outside rush. The place has a nice pool with sitting areas and a yoga deck facing the jungle behind. The room had a good size with AC, all necessary amenities, and a superking-size bed ! Breakfast is different every day, made with local products and was very tasty. The hosts, Johanna and Greg made our stay as good as it gets. Highly recommended and at a fair price for Tamarindo benchmark, especially for a Boutique Hotel.
