Nice place to visit (considering the not large offer present in Denmark....). Unesco site and very well arranged: completely interactive and the information is given by very short shots, in line with the new generations' way of learning. For those who have no idea about the Vikings culture...for the others just a nice museum with modern tools of teaching. The visit is FREE.

We did not expect much since it was free.
But it's actually one of the best museum I've been too! It's stunning to look at, nice place you can sit and listen to stories if you want to.
It has a nice gift shop too.

When we went there was also a crochet museum in the end. Was pretty cool too!

⚠ And don't forget to go and look at the cool stones beside the church! From the viking age.

Somewhere to spend a few hours, great for the kids as well. Amazed it’s free. Well worth a visit. No waiting as most is outside which they are still developing. The inside was not so busy.

This FREE museum is awesome!! The displays are so interactive, modern and creative. There are so many cool elements to learn about the history of the area and Vikings.

Free entry is a win for sure and with cafe, toilets 🚻, gift shop, roof top terrace and great information presented in a clear way...what more could you want??

Every display has an English translation and the information is given in small pieces so you don't feel overwhelmed and end up not reading anything!

There are things to touch, control, see, feel etc. It is a very well put together space indeed!

Must visit!!!

I did have heaps of photos and videos but google would not let me add them all 🤦‍♀🤦‍♀🤦‍♀🤦‍♀🤦‍♀🤦‍♀🤦‍♀

Photos don't do this place justice. If you're not staying in or near Jelling and are on the fence about whether to make the trip to visit, do not hesitate. Free, creatively designed and absolutely engaging. Mere steps from the church and runestones. A highlight of our trip to Denmark.

This great exhibition teaches you all there is to know about Viking King Gorm and his son Harald Bluetooth. It is interactive and very interesting. Outside you can see where the palisade was and also look at the two famous rune stones and walk on the two burial mounds. The entry is free. There also is a nice café and a museum shop.

A really cool and Well presented place. The museum is really good and informative in an interactive way, it's not huge but big enough. Also Free. The rune stone's are in cases which is a shame but understandable. Really good gift shop and a nice cafe.

Genuinely amazing (and surprisingly, completely free) viking museum. Really beautifully laid out, highly interactive experiences, perfect for slightly older kids (fairly explicit violence etc, as should be expected in viking history). Strongly recommend a detour here. Free entrance and free parking nearby.

This is one of the best museums I’ve visited, and it has a nice gift shop, too. It’s worth a visit just to go to Valhalla!

One of the best interactive museum! Kongernes Jelling is not a traditional archaeological museum, but one that makes archaeology accessible as a continuous and active process. UNESCO World Heritage listed Jelling, with its rune stones and burial mounds, is one of the most important cultural-historical sites in Denmark.

I must say this place is well worth the visit. The exhibit is very interactive but simple and easy to take in. Colorful displays with modern audio, video, and lights make it fun for kids and a great place to learn about the origins of Vikings and their lives from the 10th century. A great gift shop too!

Excellent interactive museum explaining this magnificent Viking site. Lots to do for kids. The site itself is well laid out to give a true perspective of its size, and the churchyard (where the runic stones are kept) is beautifully kept. Free entry and free parking very close too.

Amazing. With all the virtual reality tools, simulations, animations, holograms this hits the top of interactivity list for kids of all age. Modern concept and great descriptions guide you through the local Viking age in great detail. On top of it is it free (no idea why), but am not complaining!

This is the coolest interactive museum I’ve seen! A+ for the creative team who visualised the storey telling.

The shop and cake/coffee was great as well!

This really is an excellent place to visit, lots of interesting facts well presented in informative and often interactive ways. The staff are very friendly and there is a cafe onsite as well as the obligatory museum shop. The shop by the way has some great unique gifts and is well worth a look.
