Really glad we found this cafe after our visit to Kongernes Jelling museum. A great combo for everyone visiting Jelling.
Food is very good: high quality ingridients, everything made from scratch, and creative (tasty) twists as an add-on experience. The owner is an amazing host, in a discreet nordic way; he amazed us not only with his food, but also with knowledge of nordic mythology and icelandic tongue twisters :)
Perfect afternoon in Jelling!

The menu is not long, but tasty, with quality ingredients. The drinks are also very good. We particularly enjoyed the house made mulled wine. All surrounded by a cozy atmosphere.

Cozy atmosphere and really good food. If it's not empty when you get there, be prepared to wait a bit for food to get ready at times when there's only one person serving and preparing food. It's worth the wait though. You'll get a Danish rye bread sandwich or a viking tapas plate for instance, presented with all ingredients on serving, and with all the home made delicious ingredients you'll be happy you waited.

Fantastic place. The owners are incredibly kind and soak Danish, German and English. I had a wonderful lunch following recommendations and felt the food was fantastic and very affordable. I highly recommend this to anyone visiting Jelling!

I will note, this is not a place for a fast snack, if that's what you want take a pastry and coffee to go. This is a place to relax and reflect!

We didn't expect to find such a nice place in the town. What it was supposed to be a quick snack before going to the airport became an awesome experience. The owner was so kind an made his best to make us comfortable and explain the menu. The beer was fantastic and the meal was unbealivable. I honestly think it's a must!

~~~The food here is outstanding~~~
It's akin to having a little piece of Valhalla right here on earth. The beer is from the local microbrewery, which is very good indeed. The service is warm, friendly and companiable.
Mead, honey, whiskey and the local beer can all be bought to take home or as gifts.
I wish I had a wider vocabulary to provide a better description, nevertheless I left the cafe with warm fuzzy feelings and a big smile from the food and drink that was made with passion.
Oh, and they have Hnefatafl 😀
We had a lovely lunch on the deck with a view over the beautiful town of Jelling. The food and drinks were delicious. It was nice to discover a local Danish stout, salami and cheese, some excellent pickled onions and great sourdough.
We were here about 4 weeks ago and the host was very charismatic. He joked and laughed with us and was very kind. He recommended a drink of ale topped with mead which I thouroughly enjoyed. When we told him we were Irish he spoke about Irish culture and seemed genuinely interested. After chatting for a few minutes he let us enjoy our drinks in peace and he didn't hover around us.
It was a pity we could only stay for a short amount of time as we really enjoyed it and just wandered in, if I am in Jelling again I will definitely be paying a visit here.
The food - delicious with generous portions. The beer - local choices and excellent accompaniment to the food. The host - delightful and extremely engaging. Lovely boutique products to choose. And excellent parking available! Absolutely a highlight of our trip and against which other restaurants will be measured. Highly recommend!!!
A couple of friends and I went in for a quick beer whilst we waited for a train. Very accommodating and informative owner gave us a brief history lesson about the Vikings of which their bottled beers were named after. Wish we could've stayed longer, even though it was officially closed he went above and beyond. Well worth a visit
My partner and I spent a beautiful afternoon in Cafe Sejd. The atmosphere was cosy and intimate, and both the coffee and food were delicious. We were made to feel so welcome by the truly lovely, incredibly generous, and thoughtful staff. In the spirit of Jelling, the menu follows a Viking and Norse mythology-theme, which we greatly appreciated. On that note, we recommend the Viking tapas. We came away with beautiful items from the shop, some brilliant and interesting postcards, full stomachs, and smiles on our faces. Thank you very much, Cafe Sejd, for your wonderful service and hyggelig ambience.
Amazing place and so full of 'hygge' and atmosphere. The owner was a spirited soul making everyone feel so welcome. We had great food - the Viking platter - and great beers. Everything served with a smile and a story
