Far more extensive than we expected including a train ride (although you need to be early in line to get a place on it), and extensive rooms below ground where the soldiers were based. Not just a filler-in place to go but a must-see.

Great museum!! The bunker were part of a large wv 2 german fortifikation bunker. The 39 cm canons together with the Kristianssand bunker comanded the strait between Norway and Denmark. Great exhibitions and walks arround the museum.

Very interesting museum that allows a deeper inside into the history of that location with not forgetting the history behind all of it. The museum covered all parts of the history with a small hint to the bigger picture a the third Reich. We noticed that the intention was firstly to inform people and not to guilttrip Germans, what many other Museum with the same topic tend to do. Visiting the bunker was also a very impressive part of the museum. The bunker was very well reserved and restored. With some mannequin, a picture a the life inside the bunker was given. The trails around the museum were Informative as well as they gave a beautiful view on the area.

An interesting site to visite! Bring torches for all the outer bunkers, which are mostly accessable (and very dark). The bunker attached to the museum is nicely renovated and gives a good clue of the stories happened in WWII. Advice: use this as a starting point so you will recognise the inside of some other bunkers which are without lights. I have never seen anything so impressive. The batterie of bunkers almost looks like a village underground. Bring walkingshoes, so you can see it all. We were there for 5 hours to read all the info and climb in all the bunkers. There is no restaurant, so bring your own food. The train did not ride; on the website it shows you when it does ride. We didn't miss it, though.

Beautiful museum. I have visited a lot of WW2 museums and this you should be on list.
I have never seen a German bunker in this good shape. If you are not Danish or German, ask for a paper tourguide at the reception.

Interesting to learn about the occupation of Denmark during ww2, hanstholm being built by the germans and having large ammounts of artillery. You can see some cool artillery on display as well as the bunkers themselves.

It's museum that would take an entire day to make the best out of it. It's a deep dive into how a single gun of a battery works - the infrastructure, the personnel and the mode of operation. The museum is packed with information and if you are a WW-II enthusiast, you need to chose your content to save time and absorb the content of your interest e.g: I skipped the social impact of the Nazi occupation of Denmark, the Nazi uniforms and focused more on the reconstructed bunker. Most of the information is in Danish and German but you can borrow an English workbook whose page numbers map to the artifacts, it's a bit tedious and time-consuming but worth it.
We took the narrow gauge train which takes around 15 minutes, travelling through a couple of bunkers but there isn't more that you can see from it. Unless you have toddlers or kids that can't walk for long or wanna enjoy the train, take a walk around the tracks for better views. There's a hiking trail that goes round the area.
The place gets crowded quickly, hence, reach as early as possible. If you are a WW-II buff, you need at least a day or two to get the best out of it.

Great museum. Both telling the local history and the greater war effort. This is done by both actual artefacts and a great setup for storytelling.

The museum presents how cruel was the WW II for the inhabitants of Denmark. I apologize for the sarcasm..but it's a fantastic place for those who love German engineering.
