Lovely place! They sell second-hand books, mostly in English. Quite a large selection of books in all genres.
I went looking for books in German and wasn’t disappointed! They had many novels but also thrillers. They also sell books in other languages such as Russian, French, Dutch, etc.
You can also sell or trade your books.

Mark, the owner, is lovely and was very happy to have a chat with us and give us some tips on Ecuador. Definitely recommend!!

Went in and had a wonderful chat with the owner, who happens to be English. We were in the shop for over an hour and left with not only books but good local knowledge of the city. The owner is so friendly and helpful. Fantastic selection of books. Would definitely go back again. Great shop for books while travelling or on holiday. Able to trade/sell the books back as well!

If ever looking for English books, you definitely have to visit this place. It’s maybe 200 meters from the basilica, so, it’s definitely a must visit if you’re in the historic center. They’re mostly second hand books, but at a very good selection and great prices. The owner is a British man that’s lived in Ecuador a couple of decades. He trades books for new ones. So, if you wanna trade with him, he’ll be happy to do that for a book you like around there. He also has some other foreign language books. Great place.

The largest selection of English books at reasonable prices that I have found in the 8 Central/South American countries I’ve visited so far. Well read owner will provide you with great recommendations as well. Large selections of European languages and Spanish as well. Also a great place to sell your books.

Outstanding collection of contemporary literature with some hard to find works about Ecuadorian and Latin American history. Highly recommended. Bring some good books to trade if you have them!

Best bookshop I found in Quito. Mark has a wonderfully curated collection and can tell you anything you want to know about his books. He has lived in several different countries and tells fascinating stories. Definitely stop in and say hi.

I moved to Quito recently and heard about this bookstore from a friend. It used to be close to plaza foch but had been moved. I found the right directions on Facebook and understood the owner had some problems changing the location on google and tripadvisor. I came to the store and absolutely loved it, Mark (the owner) is extremely friendly and helped me finding some interesting books. We even had a cup of tea and there are some ways to trade books and rent books for a period of time, which makes it even better. If you love books, I would definitely drop by and check his store out!

Great selection and prices. You won't find such a wide and fairly priced English book collection anywhere else in Quito. Also, the man that works there is extremely knowledgeable and a delight to converse with.
