My friend and I totally enjoyed wandering through this market and we bought some beautiful items. Some thins are mass produced (it's an outstanding place to buy t-shirts and llama sweaters) and other things were hand crafted and unique to that stall. We looked at every stall and noted what we liked (each stall is numbered); then went back to buy. It's a great place to people watch too.

A beautiful place for tourists and locals alike. You cannot visit Quito without visiting this beautiful landmark where you can haggle your way to some nice discounts on very beautiful pieces of clothing, trinkets and very interesting art pieces to bring back home. They have over a hundred booths filled with most any keepsake you can imagine and the occasional home remedy for what ails you. I had a chest cough that literally hurt and all it took to make it easier was a $5 bottle of a home remedy made with ginger and something called tutuma. I’m a believer.

This is the place where you can get all the souvenirs you want for a cheap price and nice quality! I bought chocolates for 5 dollars, trousers for 5 dollars and a nice ring for 7 dollars! Defo is worth visiting!

I absolutely LOVE this market!! Each time I go, I purchase too much and need to add a bag on my trip home.

It can be a bit overwhelming in the beginning since people are trying to grab your attention, but I'm used to it!

I have befriended one of the jewelers there, Marcelo. He is an absolute joy and very kind to me and all those I bring with me. His booth can be found in the outer row on the side furthest from Sweet + Coffee (another amazing spot).

Interesting to browse around to see what types of goods are available in the region. An alpaca blanket (as claimed by the vendor) is $8.

Great prices. Cheaper than Otavalo - at least when I visited. Lots of selection. Friendly vendors. Regretting not buying a few more scarves as gifts.

I recently visited the La Mariscal Artisan Market, also known as Mercado Artesanal La Mariscal, during my trip to Quito, Ecuador and I must say, it was a truly wonderful experience. The market is located in the La Mariscal neighborhood and is a must-visit for anyone interested in Ecuadorian handicrafts and souvenirs.

The market is home to a vast array of stalls selling a wide variety of goods, from handcrafted jewelry and clothing to textiles, ceramics, and wood carvings. The quality of the goods on offer was exceptional, with many items being handmade and unique to the region. I particularly enjoyed browsing through the various stalls and admiring the craftsmanship that went into each piece.

The vendors were friendly and welcoming, and were happy to share information about their products and their cultural significance. I found this to be a great way to learn more about the local culture and history of Ecuador.

The prices were also very reasonable, and I felt that the vendors were fair in their pricing. I was able to find some beautiful souvenirs to take home with me without breaking the bank. 120 for 6 Alpaca poncho. Cash only.

Overall, my experience at the La Mariscal Artisan Market was fantastic. It was a great way to spend an afternoon and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Quito. Whether you're looking for unique souvenirs, handmade crafts or just want to immerse yourself in the local culture, this market is definitely worth a visit.

It's an organized and consolidated collection of shops where you can buy any and all souvenirs that you could want at fair prices.

Quito's artisan market is a place where most of the crafts and handmade souvenirs from different parts of Ecuador are concentrated, such as rugs, traditional masks, accessories, magnets, embroidered and woven clothing, hand-painted glasses, scarves, hats, etc. The prices are a bit high, but you have to consider that the things they sell there are handmade. You can negotiate and get better prices with different vendors. If you know a local that can help you, you can pay even less. As for security, there are guards around, but it is good to take precautions with your objects, it is not an unsafe place. It is not recommended to go with small children.

Great market for souvenirs. Located behind Hilton Colon. Galapagos T shirts are less expensive than those in the islands. Remember to bargain.

As a tourist i have visited at least six markets in Ecuador...but this is the best of all. There are various reasons for it...1. huge variety. 2. It's kind of artistically designed place. 3. You have to bargain (but the base price is reasonable). 4. Good location 5. Sufficient parking space. 6. Security guard is avlb. Also a special mention of stall no 57 a unique idea for a personalized gift at a very reasonable price (pic attached). A must Visit place.

Compact market with all the typical tourist offers from ponchos to blankets and typical jewelery. It pays off to bargain. If you are doing it in a friendly manner, you might be able to reduce the asked price by 40%. But there are minimum prices that none of the merchants will fall under. At least that's what I experienced when I was bargaining for one item at different stands. None fell below a certain price.

Good central location to satisfy all your handcraft and souvenir needs. I can't recommend stall 156 enough, on row 8. Excellent service and good prices. I always buy postcards and magnets here.

Cash only. Usually quite safe, but if you're going on a crowded evening I highly recommend being mindful and cautious about your phone, wallet and camera as there have been known to be pick pocketers.

Its a center of artisan & souvenir products you will love to buy for family & friends. Price is more affordable than shopping mall for sure, but I think not all products are really made in Ecuador. Some are made in China like cheap accecories, bag, etc. But if you are careful, you will find beautiful knit of handmade clothes, poncho, artisan coffee, unique painting & coffee cups, etc. Note: bring cash for they don’t accept card, keep your belongings safe & don’t look flashy. Also, price is negotiable but make bargain politely ❤ We bought these 2 cross necklace for friends.

Great market, it is our second visit to Quito and second visit to the market.

The prices are good and usually a little negotiable. Don't buy on the first store, walk around and check out the different quality and price.

Shoutout to store #142 !

This is the best place to shop for souvenirs in Quito. Make sure to bargain, you can easily decrease a price from 10 to 5 usd.
