Very nice and convenient shop just outside the Winter Palace. Nice souvenirs, my son and I stocked up here for all our stuff. Items are individually labeled with the price, no awkward asking and haggling. We went there twice, the first time was low key and we weren't followed, the second time there was gentle following but no pressure to buy. They have really cool old books and photos to look at and are for sale. Very nice shop and folks that run it. Recommend highly and super convenient if you are staying at the Winter Palace.

Beautiful, old-world shop that harkens back to a time long past. Great selection of books, maps, perfumes and local souvenirs such as figurines or tablets. My favourite was the collection of old Egyptian b/w posters as printed by the French. Fixed price so no haggling which is refreshing.

My boyfriend and I went to this bookstore during our stay at the Winter Palace (only steps away!), and it was truly amazing! The owners were very kind and knowledgeable, and the rare book collection was really great. We purchased two rare books and a book of Egyptian poetry, and the prices were very fair and the quality was excellent. The staff were helpful and attentive, and never pushy. We would definitely stop here again next time we visit - it was a highlight!

This is a GREAT shop. All prices are marked. Since we don’t know what things should cost we paid more in Souk after bargaining. GREAT selection. No hassle or pressure—just friendly and helpful staff. The historical photos are amazing and worth a visit all by themselves.

Best shop in Luxor and Egypt to find authentic Egyptian souvenirs. The photographs by Attiya Gaddis are the real thing from the turn of the 20th century. Buy local takes on the true meaning here. He was their documenting history. Don't have to haggle for price and know that you are getting a truly unique and authentic piece of Luxor history when you purchase at Gaddis & Co.

Fantastic shop with wide range of books, prints, photographs and souvenirs. Very well priced. Shop assistants were helpful, polite and respectful. It's a calm and peaceful place, refreshing especially compare to those aggressive taxi drivers outside. Highly recommend a visit! Also worth taking a look at their website as the shop itself has got a fascinating history.

Compared to the tourists' hunt that the other sellers practice in the city, Gaddis is a real haven.
Professionnal employees, warm and welcoming. But you never feel forced to buy. The prices are labelled and you don't feel robbed as you do elsewhere in Louxor.

Wonderful shop with lots of character and an excellent selection of books - they seem to work closely the American University in Cairo and stock superb academic texts at the real price. No hassle or nonsense, just nice staff and great stock. An oasis in comparison to the grim hassle elsewhere in Luxor - highly recommended.

If you're not sure how much you should be paying for some of the standard items in the market, I highly recommend visiting this shop first. They have fixed prices which are reasonable by most tourist standards and basically give you an idea of how much you should maximally pay for similar quality products in the souk. It is a true 'no hassle' shopping experience.

BEST POSTCARDS IN EGYPT

I like to mail and also collect postcards on my trips, and found Egypt to be quite lacking in this aspect. This company has an EXCELLENT selection of postcards. They range from your standard city shots to historical classic images to local art images.

The store also has a very good selection of handmade crafts from local artists in the area. No hassling!!!

I highly recommend this to anyone who is tired of being hassled in the main market area. It's located next to the Sofitel Winter Palace.

Prices were surprisingly reasonable. Everything was high quality and staff was friendly.

Nous tenons à signaler à quel point ce magasin est formidable. Il a un charme fou en tant que tel, est bien doté en divers articles. Les prix sont doux et déjà indiqués, ce qui est très reposant et permet de choisir ce qui nous fait plaisir sans stress et sans ces terribles marchandages déplaisants. Les vendeurs sont doux, charmants et respectueux. Résultat c'est ici que nous avons choisi les petits souvenirs d'Egypte que nous avions envie de ramener pour offrir ou pour nous. De jolies nappes, des photos anciennes, des mugs, de petites cuillères. C'est vraiment une merveille de magasin qui vaut le détour. On y ressent l'Egypte des années 1900 c'est merveilleux.

Magasin très agréable dans lequel les prix sont déjà indiqués sur les produits, donc pas de marchandage ni de sensation de se faire avoir comme dans tout le reste du pays, et dans lequel les vendeurs ne nous sautent pas dessus à notre entrée.

On peut prendre le temps de choisir tout type de souvenir, et demander des informations aux vendeurs si besoin.

这里还出售明信片和很多纪念品，店里气氛非常平静，我遇到的两位店员（一位男士和一位女士）都非常谦和有礼，他们会为你介绍各种书籍和纪念品，与店外各种苍蝇般推销的马车夫、出租车司机相比，这里真的是难得的清静之地。
