First of all, the receptionist for this property is outstanding. Great service prior to trip. The property is insanely well located. On a lake, backed by a jungle, really convenient to tikal. Rooms are not super luxurious, but were more than adequate for us. Service was incredible, and again, the location was phenomenal.

Stayed at this incredible hotel as part of a dental mission group. Our stay was amazing. This hotel is beautiful. The staff is great and did everything they could to accommodate us and people’s dietary needs. Super clean resort. We swam in the lake every day and it was so relaxing and refreshing after our work day. We ordered the best tasting fries and cold beers to enjoy on the dock. Alfonso was a great bartender. Enjoyed the Howler monkeys, Lola the dog and Antonella the cat. Great vibes and a beautiful place that is good for the soul. Will be back for sure.

Gringo Perdido was a perfect place to stay on the lake, Eco friendly, the staff, service and food were fantastic. Everyday was something new on the menu, and always was delicious and fresh. So nice to take a swim in the clear and beautiful lake, they have canoes and inner tubes to borrow. The hotel’s doggies are very sweet. The deluxe rooms were very clean and the beds were super comfortable, we had an amazing big balcony with a jacuzzi tub with plenty of space to lounge out and listen to all of nature sounds after returning from a long day of walking and visiting the Mayan Ruins. The plus was that we enjoyed the relaxed and laid back feeling here! I would definitely highly recommend to stay at Gringo perdido.

What an amazing place to stay. The food was excellent and different every night. There was plenty of space with hammocks and chairs to read and relax. Monkeys and birds roam the trees around the property. The lake is beautiful and clean. The staff is very friendly and patient with my terrible Spanish. Will definitely be returning!

Hotel Gringo Perdido is truly an oasis! This was my last stop on a multiple week trip through Guatemala and it was pure bliss. I could have stayed forever and hope to be able to come back. Thank you for a great stay!

Can recommend this accommodation! Close to Tikal When we arrived we got a free upgrade to a room overlooking the lake, very nice. The food is very good and the staff is very friendly and doing their best. Besides, the owner helped us very much with a Tikal tour and transportation. Lola, the dog of the owner, is very sweet.

Great to relax and beautiful view!

We stayed here. Just outside El Remate. Great place to chill. $$$$, but absolutely worth it. Right on the waters of Lake Peten Itza. They got an infinity spa with fresh lake water pumped into it. A few piers jut into the lake. Clear waters here are excellent swimming. Beautiful architecture at this Eco Lodge. Hammocks, breakfast, and supper included. I can't say enough about this place. Dark sky. Lights out at 9pm. No music here. Quiet.

Amazing experience! The hotel itself is incredible. The place is just magic!
The people working there were so nice and so resolutive, always willing to help (receptionist, waiters, bar tenders, massage therapist, etc). The food is amazing, so tasty! Congrats to the chef indeed. I have several intolerances and they were so careful ALL the time, preparing everything specifically for me. So nice !

The sunrise is so special.

This beautiful place is hidden at the edge of the lake in the trees. The chef makes wonderful dishes with fresh ingredients for a different meal each night. The staff is very attentive and they have always treated me like family. I sleep in a small cabin by the lake, but there are a variety of newly renovated rooms, all with a/c. Spend a weekend or a week, you will love the experience. And the howler monkeys will be around to say hello.

The most beautiful location in this part of the world. And the staff is super nice. And the lakeside hammocks :)

It’s a beautiful place to stay for the day.
The infrastructure next to the lake helps junto get a fun and chill experience. You have kayaks, hammocks, everything to enjoy the lake.

But, the food for the people staying there, is not worth the money. Is better to pay 10USD and just spend the day, than 120 to sleep and having the food.

We slept 1Km away and went there more than 4 times.

A friend and I came here for the day and loved it. So relaxing! We kayaked, went paddle boarding, and napped in hammocks.

The staff was amazing. It started pouring down rain while I was relaxing on one of their five docks, and one of the employees braved the storm and walked over to give me an umbrella, just in case I needed it.

The food was pretty good. The prices seemed a little high, until the plates arrived—portions were HUGE. I ordered the garlic shrimp and couldn’t finish it.

It’s halfway between Tikal National Park and the airport, so it’s a great place to stay before a visit there. I’ll definitely be back.

What a stunning lakeside hotel. Great views and swimming. Helpful knowledgable staff, great Guatemalan food, coffee on all day (!).
Fantastic. And only a 20 minute walk to the biosphere.

Amazing experience! Amazing getaway if you have a stressful occupation. Was able to treat my family with something nice for my fathers 52nd birthday! Kayaking, horse back riding, hammocks, breakfast & dinner included with stay. Amazing staff & food was great! Lola was so sweet (the owners dog) I will definitely be back soon!

This place is paradise. From the moment we arrived we were very happy. The location on the lake is fantastic and the hotel has many docks so you can enjoy relaxing with some privacy. The kayaks are awesome and we went for an amazing sunset kayak. The food was some of the best we had in Guatemala. Dinner and breakfast were included in our package but I really loved the quesadilla ( pro tip add guacamole). They have coffee and hot water going early and often. We saw lots of birds and other animals from our room! I think the price of this place is justified by how nice of a location it is and I Can’t wait to return.

We fully enjoyed our longer than expected stay at this gorgeous Hotel. Right at the lake with beautiful views, great food and wonderful people working there. The cook is exceptional, amazing what she serves! This is an oasis of peace surrounded by the jungle. Much more relaxing to stay at this Hotel after a day of Tikal than at Flores. And it's easier and faster to go to Tikal from here. And in approx. one hour you'll be in Flores. Order a tuk-tuk to El Remote and take a collectivo (every 15 Min.) to Flores. Estuardo and his team were so nice and helped us in anything we needed.
