This hostel is amazing. My girlfriend and I have been travelling for a while and it is by far the best place we've stayed. It's even better than the pictures, the food is good and the rooms are lovely. The staff were the highlight though, so organised, very friendly and went above and beyond in every possible way. The boss is great, it was my birthday while we were there and he and the staff made it a very happy day. I completely and utterly recommend staying here if you visit Semuc Champey.

This hotel was definitely my favourite throughout my travels of Guatemala. The staff were incredible, fun and loving all around. We had the double room with two double beds and it was very spacious. Wifi worked great where we stayed.
The food we had was great, the drinks were just as good. In my opinion, the pricing was very fair, cheaper than others I had stayed at.
The staff helped with luggage, all of the toilets and showers where very clean. The entertainment was great and the pool with a bar at the end just made it 👌🏻 They took the party away from the grouped shared areas at a reasonable time.
Not to mention this place is walking distance from Semuc, Caving experience and ended it all with a beer on a float down the river.
Would definitely stay here again when I travel back through. Thank you all again for the hospitality ❤

I really like this place! My wife and I stayed for two nights in the Riverside suite and enjoyed it entirely. Those rooms are a bit away from the main establishment and much quieter and more private than the others. The facility itself is very charming with clean swimming pools and friendly staff. Having power 24 hours a day is quite a luxury and the beds in these rooms were very comfortable. Besides the perfect location the true gem of this establishment is the restaurant which provides an Israeli inspired menu with fresh ingredients prepared in a way that will not get you sick. I got a walk through and this is a very strict modern clean kitchen with staff and an owner who care. I particularly enjoyed the pizzas which were reasonably priced and delicious, the chicken schwarma is very good and the pasta was absolutely delicious. I really can't say how impressed I am because this type of travel hostel typically serves food nowhere near this caliber. Even the coffee and drinks were great. I also had the pleasure of chatting with the owner Golan who is generous and honorable. It's obvious the owner's are investing their profits back into the property to better people's experience and thats a rare thing. Looking forward to visiting again and seeing what improvements and innovations come next!

I loved staying at Greengos, it was a bit weird to hand over your passport to the receptionist but I promise you they both are amazing. They were really helpful and super kind. My dorm was okay and as expected nothing too fancy. The pool is super fun to hang out at after hiking and exploring Semuc Champey. They have happy hour from 4-6pm. The food is very tasty but they have limited dishes. I would day 3-4 days os perfect to spend at the Hostel.

This is my new favorite hostel! The food is incredible and the atmosphere is even better. Every night they host games or activities that most people join. Also eating at the hotel makes it easier to socialize by sitting with new people. It’s a very social hostel without being a party hostel. My favorite part was the proximity to Semuc Champay, an easy walk with gorgeous views. Every morning they were cleaning the pool, hang out area, and bathrooms so it was also super clean. You can bring your own food but you can’t cook. The food is easy to get from your locker to keep safe from animals. Overall loved this hostel in the jungle and will be going back!

Absolutely loved it. Beautiful setting, amazing staff and fantastic food. The cave tour was one of the best experiences and the a special mention to the tour guide who went out of his way to look after me when I injured my leg. I wished I could have stayed longer at this place! The activities organised in the evening by the new volunteer were a Highlight. All the staff were so nice and the chill out area was so cool!

Superb hostal. Friendly and smiling staff.
One small drawback: no fridge to keep your groceries cool.
Restaurant prices are reasonable, and the food is "home-made".
The pool is ideal and the surrounding environment just incredible.

I loved staying at Greengo’s! The team (especially Anna, Bruno, Bassani and Rebecca are absolute sweethearts, just as are the rest of the crew).
I arrived at Greengo’s while trying to recover from pretty bad ankle sprain, which makes travelling solo and staying in hostels a little bit more difficult and they did everything to accomodate me - from moving me to the bottom bunk, helping me with my bags and checking on me. I also wanted to extend by one night and they were so kind to shuffle things around so that I wouldn’t need to move beds. Not to mention many other favors like finding a sunscreen or toothpaste for me when I just run out of mine. Really everyone is so helpful with the kindest attitude and it helped me so much to relax, enjoy the nature and continue recovering:)).
Also the food is great, the hostel is amazing with many spots to chill but also to socialize and party and the vibes are probably one of the best I have felt during my travels. Location couldn’t be better, just 10 min walk from Semuc, so you don’t have to sort transportation. Shuttle service was also super smooth. 20/10, no notes. Thank you guys❤❤.

I think this place is really great. First off it's in a great location, in the heart of Semuc Champey and it's only a ten to fifteen minute walk to the pools. The amenities are top notch with several public and semi private little spaces for you to lounge by the urself, socialize or work if you're u need to. The pool was fantastic as well, treated daily and kept clean of debris at least twice a day. The owners were super chill as well and all the staff was incredibly nice and helpful. I really enjoyed both kitchen, bar and wait staff. They all tried to speak in English, even when it was easier and more comfortable to speak in Spanish. They seemed to really appreciate any attempt to speak even mediocre Spanish, but we're more than willing they communicate in English with everyone. There were a couple of little things....like the first room we were in was a little inconvenient because it only had one plug, although it had three beds in it and one fan. It was super duper hot and the room needed more circulation. We moved, for an unrelated reason and the second room was much nicer and cooler, but only because we brought the fan from the first room with us and used it and the fan from the new room. That made it comfortable for the three beds in the room. There was also the issue that the room we moved to had no screens on windows so we couldnt open them at night because the mosquitoes were swarming. And the slider door had great screens but they didn't lock and because I was traveling with my kiddo I wasn't willing to risk keeping it open at night while we slept. That meant even with the fans, it got kinda uncomfortably hot.

All in all that ugh, stellar people amenities and rooms. Did t even talk about the food yet though. Food was way above average for a hostel, with the hummus, shawarma and Israeli salad being the standouts. We are really well there.

With beautiful open views, only 10-15 minutes walk from Semuc Champey, this hotel's amenities and staff are absolutely superb. There's electricity, Wi-Fi and hot water 24/7. There's a great restaurant serving mediterranean inspired food, a great bar, good music, a pool table, a movie room, game nights, and wonderful, friendly staff. The pool is absolutely gorgeous and pristine clean, and hosts a happy hour every day :)
We stayed in a private room with attached bathroom and felt we're staying in a resort!
If we could, we'd give this place 10 stars!
• Thanks, Golan, for a wonderful week. And a special thanks to Alejandro, for being such a sweetheart throughout our stay

I'm already missing the vibrant warm vibes of Greengos. Honestly this place is one of the best hostels I've been to. It's full of creative inspiration, and social bonding activities, and so many cozy little nooks to chill out in.
(There is a bit of a party vibe at the hostel, but as a non-party person I still found all the space I needed to chill)

The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, you can really tell they're more than just employees to each other, and this makes such a difference in the vibe of the place.
I ended up getting a tummy bug on my last day and the team helped by extending my check out and giving some anti-nausea medicine.
My biggest regret is leaving and coming to another hostel... Just do yourself a favour and just book at Greengos, it's well worth it!!!!

Thank you for the wonderful stay 🌿✨

We absolutely loved our stay at Greengo’s. The hostel itself has everything you need; great food, amazing staff, super fun activities, and walking distance from Semuc Champey! I was with my 4 best friends and this was definitely our favorite stay of our trip. We loved it so much that we extended our stay. Thank you to all the staff and all the amazing people we met through this trip. Hasta Luego!

We were quite pleased with Greengo's! The food was great, and prices were on par with prices we paid in other areas of Guatemala (despite other reviews claiming it is insanely expensive). We were incredibly satisfied and surprised by how fresh all of the vegetables were. If you are making the trek to get to Semuc Champey, you have to understand that it is an extremely remote location. Because Greengo's is within walking distance to Semuc Champey (<10 minutes), it is also in a very remote location. As such, you will probably end up eating all of your meals here which is not a bad thing because the food is great!

Definitely has laid back beach club vibes with good music, lots of comfy seating, and an environment that encourages you to meet other travelers, hang out, play games, and enjoy the atmosphere.

FYI: Having cash on hand prior to arriving to Lanquin would be optimal. They have a credit card reader that, like all other places in Guatemala, charges an extra fee to use, but it is subject to working due to signal and wifi which is totally understandable considering it is so remote. The ATM in Lanquin also often has no cash or doesn't work, so if you're worried, make sure you withdraw prior to leaving your departing destination.

The facilities are very clean, the pool is lovely, and despite being in the jungle, I didn't feel as though there were spiders and scorpions everywhere (which I felt at Lake Atitlan).

We definitely weren't expecting what we found at Greengo's after the journey to get there (in the best way), but we loved it and would stay again.

Staying at Greengo's was one of the most fun experiences we had in Guatemala! It's walking distance to Semuc Champey and the caves, but still remote so it feels like you are really "getting away". The rooms were super clean, the food was awesome (we had everything on the menu and loved the shakshuka, hummus with shawarma, breakfast burritos, and avocado toast), the tour guides were super cool, and the people were top notch!
There is a great bar, restaurant, a huge cinema room, pool with a swim up bar, volleyball, platforms to do yoga and workout--it's deluxe!
What really made this place special was the SERVICE! Besame (spelling?) was freaking AMAZING at anticipating our needs, making suggestions, and she even spoke to the owner of Greengo's, Golan (who was onsite a lot, and is a REALLY cool guy) about a special excursion because we were staying 5 days instead of the recommended 2-3.
Going to Greengo's feels like adult summer camp! So many friends, so many good times. My boyfriend and I would be best friends with Besame and Golan if we lived in town, and we will definitely be back!
Thanks to the whole team at Greengo's--you are really creating community there! Golan, you are an absolute visionary!

Greengo’s was an absolutely wonderful place to stay.

Entertainment was top notch, Brian did an awesome job matching the activities with the vibe so even if you didn’t want to specifically participate you were still having a great time.

Pedro, Daniella, Jorge, and Angel were the absolute best staff - making perfect drinks and even were really helpful with my food allergy (and had plenty of vegetarian and vegan options).

You can tell the owners really care about the guests and the location as if it was their own home. The entire place made you feel welcome - especially the cutest and nicest animals you will ever meet. (Tequila cat was my favorite)

WiFi was perfect for work, even on zoom calls - but it doesn’t work in the rooms, really only in the common area. I didn’t find this to be an issue because there were charging ports everywhere, an incredible mountain jungle view, and a quiet area down below to take calls with privacy.

With Semuc, some caves, river tubing and more all within a 15 minute walk I couldn’t recommend this place any more. Thanks Greengos I hope I can come back soon ☺
