Such a lovely discovery in San Juan. Tiny coffee shop perched in a less touristy area. Only 2 tables, located on the second floor makes this place feel special and intimate. Great views of the mountains (no more views of the lake as seen on older reviews because another building was build in that direction).
We got Turkish coffee with cardamom (20Q), delicious! They have a great selection and preparation methods to choose from. Didn’t eat but everything looked delicious. Lovely owner!

A cute and tiny family-run cafe with great coffee and chocolate and a small selection of dishes / snacks. Vegetarian tacos with aubergines were delicious!
Make sure to order all you want at once - for some reason, the owner got irritated when we ordered a second portion (it’s difficult not to - it was delicious, and San Juan doesn’t spoil with vegetarian options)
Check out the view - you can see the Mayan Face from the window.

By far one of the best coffee shops we have visited in Guatemala. This country produces some of the best coffees in the world, but out of several coffee shops we have visited during our trip, at Las Marias, they actually roast their coffee right at their location. Once you enter Las Marias, the fresh coffee roasted smell will wonderfully hit you and invite you to enjoy their great selection of drinks and dishes. We were lucky to arrive right when the people of one of their only two tables had finished and were ready to leave. We also experienced the owner turning down incoming customers due to having both tables occupied. We believe Las Marias coffee shop has a great potential to become a nationwide franchise with the current ideology, service and vision of what a coffee shop should be.

Hands down best cup of coffee and breakfast I’ve had in Guatemala! Maria is the sweetest, most dedicated woman and is truly passionate about coffee. Small batches, always fresh, service with a smile. Please please if you’re in San Juan do yourself a favor and check this place out. Beautiful views, and supporting a local artisan makes it that much more beautiful.

Recommended by a friend who visited this cafe 5 years ago and let me tell you, It did not disappoint. I had the Moka Espresso Frappe and it was just what I needed after time out in the sun. The views from the cafe are gorgeous. Cafe Las Marias is accessed through a tiny side street slightly off the main road. Definitely worth the visit.

We stumbled by this coffee shop by accident after noticing the sign on the road. It was such a hidden gem. The coffee was great and the view was even better. Is is a super small, 2 table Café serving coffee and food. We didn’t have any food but the owner, Marco(?) was very helpfully.

A place where the owner is very friendly, and you can experience drip coffee of various methods and equipment. The interior was very unique and I was impressed with their own atmosphere.

That waffle was wonderful! The pork tacos came with a good amount of guacamole. It was a good view of the lake on a rainy afternoon.

Such a beautiful little place to have breakfast or brunch. I would recommend checking in when you arrive because they only have two tables upstairs. We ended up waiting about 20 minutes but the view alone was worth the wait. I will definitely be returning for the Turkish Coffee.

Wonderful owners, excellent coffee and original recipes for some cool drinks. Oh yes, the view and music are also perfect. You can see the lake with some chill tunes.

The best coffee we had in Guatemala! The actual place itself is so unique because it’s inside a very narrow two story building. We ended up buying coffee grounds to bring back with us too since it was so good
