Restoran Kaštel, Motovun

Motovun is fantastic.
A small town up on the hill, you can walk up to itmor ride the shuttle bus - bus is 7€ ride but it's just three kilometers of uphill wal and there isna fantastic viewpoint half way up. Everything is, not unexpexted quite expensive but forma one time visit it's well worth it. Old town is fantastic, history oozes from old streets and houses clunked together in a narrow typically dalmatian/istrian streets. A slippy stoned streets polished by the years and years of tourism and history call out for a proper footwear, slippers will barely do it! Scenery is AMAZING! Highly reccomended to visit at least once on your travels through Istria. Flowery, very hot days are a bit colder with the light breeze while running up that hill. I saw people biking up - hope they survived that endevour. Go, see, feel! It won't get much better that this.

We had a great time here, ordered 3 pizzas and they were quite good. A little bit expensive but overall not bad.

Most beautiful sunset, very charming waiter - also the wine and food were very well recommended :) We also got accompanied by cute baby kitten and live music starting at 9 right next to the restaurant. Could not have been better :)

We came here when visiting Motovun for the day. We’ve been a group of 5 people + 2 dogs and despite not having a reservation we were able sit in for dinner. The place doesn’t seem too popular, as it was not as busy as the restaurants at the main street, but it definitely is a gem!!
The have a garden area and a small terrasse with a view upon the the valley, which is absolutely stunning. (However, as it was a bit narrow so we decided to sit in the garden area).
Our waiter was friendly, knowledgeable upon allergens and the menu, swift and attentive.
We had very good white wine (Malvazija) and food. We had homemade pasta (some with truffles and some with a creamy mushroom sauce) and beef steak with black truffles. Each dish was a generous portion, well balanced in spices and herbs and was nicely arranged. Ingredients are fresh and of very good quality, they were made to order waiting time was reasonable.
The waiter informed the chef about my dietary requirements, and precaution was taken to avoid cross contamination and prepare the dishes to suit my needs. Everyone except myself ordered some dessert (none of it would meet my requirements) and the chef especially prepared a small dish for me so I wouldn’t be the only one of our group left out on something sweet. This never happened to me ever before and I am grateful for this gesture and generous offer, the dessert was exquisite!
Everyone was satisfied and happy with their meal, we enjoyed a lovely dinner and I recommend visiting this restaurant when in Motovun!

Excellent truffle menu... and very friendly service!

We loved this restaurant! The food was delicious especially pasta with truffles ❤ the atmosphere here was very nice and so recommend to go here to watch sunset because the view is amazing! Our waitress Adriana was great, she was very kind and open-minded as well as our second waiter Tomislaw who was very elegant but had a sense of humor. I definitely recommend this restaurant, it’s the best in this area 👌
