The sea is perfect.... But on the beach there is no place to put your towel because of the sea grass.. The beach needs cleaning

The beach is perfectly nice. There are no sea weeds at all today (22.07), the water is crystal clear, its not crowded and the forest right across the beach is perfect to lay your towel. In the water there is primarily sand, the first few meters are rocky but you pass them quickly if you have the right shoes. Great beach!

Amazing location with crystal clear waters. The beach is rocky and mostly exposed to the sun, but you can easily find some shadow spots. There are also a couple of beach bars nearby and toilets. Very satisfied and would recommend 100% !

What is everyone complaining about! I think there is too many tourists expecting the world, but it is the only really partially sandy beach in dugi otok (I think), and the biggest , the sea is crystal clear, and beautiful greenery and mountain views. I love to see so much greenery at the beach, it is not too commercialised which I like. Nice to chill/swim, there are no good restaurants at the beach because it's for tourists

Awesome place, nice staff, little bit of challenge because of language (one server did not speak neither croatian nor english) but it did not cause any issues. Lovely icecream, good coffee.. pizza looked very good (we did not have it though), italian cheff was there, talking to customers. Will come back again.

Beautiful beach, but on the shore there are many small stones. Put water shoes in the bag! 😀 The water is wonderful. Whe you go into the water and swim, you forget all drawbacks! You should go there! 😎

In my opinion the pretiest beach in Croatia. Very clear water and sandy beach. Great to visit by boat. Must go if you are anywhere near it.

One of the most beautiful beaches in Croatia.
We paid 20Eur to anchor with a sailboat for a couple of hours.
Overnight stay on a buoy is 5Eur/meter.

Quite a remote location (from Zadar/mainland, you need to take a ferry and then still take a bus or drive from the port), but what a beautiful beach it is! The white sand at the bottom gives the water a beautiful look. Heads up - the beach can get green with the dirt from the sea.

Don't expect clean sand beach on the shore, but once in the water, it is an amazing sea playground with a long part of it only a meter deep with sand on the sea floor everywhere, which is just rare in Croatia

Before 15 years was much better place than now

Great little golf, with not too deep water. Very clear water and warm. People there are not crowding and you have plenty of space to enjoy your time.
Also there are spaces beneath the trees where you can put a hammoc or your sheet.
I recommend this one.

Stunning sand(!!!) beach on the northern coast of Dugi Otok! Crystal clear turquoise water and extremely long sandbar.
Accessible by the bus from Brbinj, where the ferries dock, making it a lovely day trip from Zadar or part of your stay on the island. There are beach cafes/bars during high season but bring food and water during low season as the market in the neighbouring town may only be open until midday.

Lovely colours, pebbles on the beach but sandy underwater. Little bar for ice cream and cocktails and little restaurant (the only one that accept credit card) under the pines. Worth a visit!

Sakarun is one of few natural Sand beaches (facing Mediteranian Sea) in Croatia.. Visited decade ago and went left impressed but not sure about recent conditions.. Must see, but hard to stay place (no services.and don't confuse it with easy to leave place).. Bit exhausting to access as Pedestrian or Tourist on Ferry Boat because of:
Transfer to Dugi Otok Island:
Take ferry from Zadar to Brbinj as tourist or driver.. About 1hrs trip with the large Ship loaded with Cars and Trucks.. Maintains just two rides daily (could changed meanwhile) morning arrival and 17.00 last Ferry back to Zadar..
Impressions:
White almost Silver toned bright Sun reflecting Sand, with very few stones in water, and mostly Sandy beach suitable for kids.. Very warm climate region, rented Shades are must.. Concave shaped Sandy Beach with very rough Salt water carved Stoney countryside.. Lot of garbage dumped to Ocean washed off by stream and Winds (oil barrels shooted onto from boats, plastic buoys, nests, ropes)..
Othervise paradise on Earth.. Dogs are allowed.. Top parts Nudity partialy allowed (decades ago again)..
Comfort:
One Beach Bar (Goa like tents with Sofas) veggie and fruit Drinks, no Coffe (few mentioned in reviews too), mineral Water, mainly Drinks.. No wheelchair accessible coast (with assistance worth to visit), sandy corridor entrance, just Toi Toi toilets (dacades ago), from Cape visible Deep Blue open ocean..
Travel on Island:
a. With own car easy to Ride, harder to park.. Roadside parked cars near Sakarun (others responded with pretty high 2€/hrs fee), no Car accessible beach with parking just minutes away,
b. As a tourist take Busride from Brbinj to the North of the Island and ask the driver.. We did, because there was, at that time, no Bus stop near the beach (things could changed).. We've been walking from nearest Village towards beach.. When visiting as pedestrian, tourist take the last Bus ride before 16.00 because last ferry "departure" was 17.00.. Just twice a day between Zadar and Brbinj..!!!
c. No accomodation (decades ago), no food, no showers, wildlife like Jean Jaques Custeau trip to remote place, lonely and lovely place, few knew about..

Beautiful, turquoise sea, white sand, clear water, there is some seaweed that helps beach to maintain biolife which might look unattractive to people but if you move from shore it's beautiful

Excellent. Pebbles on the beach but sand in the water. Very shallow, great for kids. No shadow in the morning. No places to eat, only bars. You can park by the beach but have to pay or you can park on the main road but it is further away. Lots of people.

This was a Crazy magical experience 🙏 we got there with the first ferry from Zadar by car. There was so little people, that you almost feel like you got it for your self 🙏 magic clear water. Don’t miss this experience if you go to Croatia !!!

This place is outstanding... I am so glad it is possible to find peace in such a quality place in the peak of the summer... While pretty much all the beaches in Croatia are crowded, Sakarun managed to remain enjoyable. A lot of people will come with their boats and park them in the bay during the day, so if you plan to take pictures of the nature... Be sure to come early.

Huge beach! Awesome snorkel opportunities, found many hermit crabs and saw a variety of fish.
