Szent István Cave

On the hour every hour, tours of the cave. Not as cold as I thought it might be. Staff very friendly and helpful. They initially warned that the guide didn't speak English and gave us a print out. Guide did a super job of showing us around reading out from the print out as she guided us and showed us what she was pointing out. Took around 20 minutes. Very beautiful inside, and the cave is quite magnificant. Think I saw a bat whilst in there.
The guides back at the entrance were able to answer any questions I had.

What an beautiful Cave! Impressive pice of history, if you don't know what to do in Hungary, i highly recommend you that place. And huge thanks to guider for paying a lot of attention fot us. He speak first in Hungary, and next in English only for us to understand everything. Big Thanks!

A very beautiful cave with multiple chambers inside, and with a good camera, you could take perfect photos.

The guide only speaks Hungarian unfortunately, but if you try and ask anything in English, they'll try to answer in English.

Szent Istaván Cave is 15 km from miskolc. Public transport is connected to this place from Miskolc. There is a entry fees and a group of around 50 go inside once. Completely new experience. Nature's creation. Temp inside is around 8 degree Celsius throughout the year.

Beautiful caves with an interesting history. Tickets for the hourly excursions begin to be sold around 20 minutes before each one. If you don't know much Hungarian, you will be provided with a shorter printed version of the commentaton in English. There is also plenty to do when waiting, just a bit down the road, you can buy a beautiful round pastry dipped in sugar. I don't know what they call it, but it's essentially a longer version of the Czech trdelník.

Don't miss it while visiting the area. It's in the most beautiful surroundings. Very reasonable entry fee with excellent and knowledgeable tour guide at your service. Bring a cozy sweater with you, coz it is very cold in the cave.

Well mentained. The tout is very explicit. The guide told us all about the cave.

Lovely tour. In Hungarian but you get an English explanation sheet at the beginning of the tour so you can follow along.

Gorgeous cave, it’s sizable and the guides explain well, it seemed. Because of the minimal international travelers there are no english tours. Make sure to ask the guides for an english recap on the way back, before you get out of the cave.

Super cool place to visit if you are around

A silent cave with clean air. Not so big, but it is worth it.

Amazing place to visit. Dress up warm, it's quite cold inside the cave. Tours are only in Hungarian language. But the staff speak pretty well English, after the tour we've asked few questions. Everyone was super friendly.

Very nice caves. Worth seeing. Only guided tours and only in Hungarian. You can get an English leaflet but these are only general info. It is cold there (10 deg C) - make sure you have something to wear especially on a sunny day. Tours start every hour and lasts 30 minutes.

This was a very good and interesting excursion. Though the main guide was in Hungarian, our guide was very obliging and gave my husband and I an English version of her talk and she took the trouble to answer all the questions I had. Unfortunately I have forgotten her name but she was excellent. The caves themselves leave one to feel quite insignificant in the greater scheme of things.
