Spent an excellent 12 days at Biodiversity.
The dive team and boat boys are fantastic, taking time to find things of interest and keeping an eye on my daughter who has only a small amount of diving experience.
The resort is friendly and mealtimes provide an opportunity to meet fellow guests.
All the staff are great and nothing is too much trouble.
It is excellent value for money and I would not hesitate to return.
My only criticism is that the drinks in the bar are a little overpriced.

Had an amazing experience at the resort. Location is superb. Service outstanding. Jen and Martin were very flexible and accommodating, helped me with the snorkeling trips arrangements , so I could see the most during my short stay on the island

My stay at Raja Ampat Biodiversity Resort was remarkable and I can’t recommend it highly enough! Jen and Martín were wonderful and they make everyone feel so welcome and taken care of from one’s arrival to their departure. The local staff were lovely too and everyone from diving/snorkel guides, servers, house keepers and grounds staff were so kind and professional. The diving and snorkeling excursions were phenomenal, well organised and are experiences one will never forget. And the food (dining family
style and getting to connect with fellow guests is a wonderful aspect of staying here too)!!! One would only be too lucky to stay here. Incredible and thank you again for everything!

My dad and I just left Biodiversity and ran to write a review. We felt it may be difficult to match the reviews that have already been written but our expectations were far exceeded. Jen and Martin were outstanding hosts and they made for an outstanding stay. Their knowledge all things coral and scuba diving is felt and very much appreciated. You can feel how much Martin is imparting onto his team of dive guides, and it made for a wonderful underwater experience.
A massive shout out to Marcel, who just joined their team, who has 20/20 underwater vision in a way I've never seen in a guide before - he doesn't skip a beat, is thorough, kind, and extremely fun. We had the privilege of diving with Marcel every day and it made for an outstanding experience.

Navigating Raja Ampat can be challenging and something that is helpful to know as you are diving into your bookings is that Raja Ampat Biodiversity is close to SO MANY of the top dive sites in the park. If you plan on diving twice or three times per day as we did, this makes a huge difference. We never repeated sites, the guides were able to make calls based on weather/forecasted currents and of course the distance meant that you had the best diving within 15-20 minutes from your doorstep.

Day trips to Fam islands and to West Gam/Manta Ridge are additional costs, but well worth it. Manta Ridge somehow hasn't felt the stress of divers on the site and is pure magic.

The resort staff are remarkable and attentive. Accommodations were very comfortable - no A/C but no A/C was needed, we were comfortable every night, even on the hottest days. Private bathroom overlooking the jungle was just amazing, too. The kitchen and restaurant staff also deserve a huge mention - they work tirelessly on using ingredients sourced from local farmers/fisherman and the care put in the ingredients shows in the preparation of the meals. Though we didn't have dietary restrictions, others did and they were SO WELL taken care of - given how isolated this resort is, these efforts are really impressive.

Their efforts for conservation and sustainability also don't go unnoticed - lots of cute mementos on the beach (a note that read "leave only behind your footprints" - which we did along with great memories) and incentives to limit waste were appreciated. Raja Ampat Biodiversity showed us with every single step that they are great custodians and all I can say is that I greatly await an opportunity to return!

I recently stayed at Biodiversity for three nights in January 2023, just before a liveaboard trip I had booked a year earlier. I chose Biodiversity somewhat last minute, but in retrospect, I'm glad I did and maybe wish spent the entire trip at the resort.

The setting is lovely, with really nice views, and it's conveniently close to several dive sites. We spent some time at Batu Lima, which is almost like the house reef, and were lucky to spot Walking sharks and Wobbegong sharks, which was quite a treat.

The food at Biodiversity was very good, and the staff were welcoming and helpful. I found the dive guides knowledgeable, which added to our overall experience.

I'd recommend Biodiversity to others, and if I'm in the area again, I'd consider a longer stay. It's a good choice for divers looking for a comfortable stay with access to great dive spots

Cannot recommend the team at Biodiversity enough. The dive team were brilliant, the team at the resort were wonderful and you felt like part of the family from day one.

Add to that the stunning location and amazing diving and you really do have a perfect holiday. Will (hopefully) be back!

Amazing everything really. Price you pay for this is super good. It was my best vacation yet. All the staff are super nice and they genuinely seem to love working there. The rooms are amazingly comfy yet simple, they make you experience going back to the basics in the best way. You won’t want to be on your phone, there’s only internet in the evening anyway. Mostly experienced divers come here but it’s perfectly fine if you aren’t one. The beach has its own coral reef which already has some of the most amazing fish I’ve ever seen. The food is all local and whole. We made some genuine friends here with some of the guests. Please stay away if you’re here for the instagram shots. There’s other more suitable resorts for that in the area.

Set on a powdery beach, this small, dive resort attracts the most interesting guests who you well get to know at the family style delicious meals.
The dive program is professionally run offering all you could ask for.
It is a great value and close to Sorong.

Great rooms, friendly and helpful personnel, great location. The diving is fantastic. You eat as a family and the food is very good. The house reef is beautiful. During nightdives you can see a nurseshark or a epauletshark. The diveguides know to find weird stuff. Between the morningdives they find a bountyfeellike sandy beach to relax. You get coffee or tea and a snack during the brake. The divecenter will listen to what you want and are willing to plan a dive according to your wishes.

Wonderful experience! The place is amazing, the food is great, we can only recommend it! Our six years old child had a wonderful time with super nice staff taking care of her, while we were enjoying amazing dives!

EXCEPTIONAL EXPERIENCE. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
Raja Ampat had been on our bucket list for years, and Biodiversity was an incredible place to stay.

Service & Staff: Everything about the trip was wonderful, but the staff, personal touches, and service was truly special. Communication was great before we arrived and throughout the trip. The owners, Patricia and Ray, welcomed us with open arms and everyone treated us like family. The managers, Tristan and Kaylee, were so sweet, helpful, and informative. Everyone immediately knew our names and checked in with us everyday. We travelled with young kids, and while my husband and I weren't sure how we would manage the dives while needing to care for our little one, Patricia arranged childcare for us, and my daughter looked forward to it everyday. A special thank you to Jeklin, Laura, and Ute for taking care of us and our little girl. We also had the pleasure of spending Christmas day with the Biodiversity team -- they made the day feel so special with a feast and celebrations throughout the day.

Location: While it does take some coordinated transportation to reach the resort (and anywhere in Raja Ampat), the transfers were flawless. Staff helped us every step of the way, literally from the moment we arrived to the Sorong airport to the resort.

Accommodation: The private bungalows are beautifully constructed, spacious, and so clean. We had our own private patio, beach chairs, etc. Incredibly comfortable.

Food: Delicious, sustainable, home-cooked meals everyday. They are very accommodating to dietary preferences and even adjusted mealtimes for the kids. The baked goods were my favorite.

Snorkeling/Diving: As expected, it was the best snorkeling/diving we've ever done. The guides planned great dive/snorkel spots everyday. A special thank you to Tristan, Irwin, and Julio.

We loved our stay and can only hope to return one day. A simple thank you doesn't express how grateful we are to have spent our time with you. We wish you all the best.

We spent a lot of time looking for the right Raja Ampat resort for our family, and I’m so glad we can chose Biodiversity. Overall, this was an outstanding experience. Here’s why:

Staff: this is the feature of Biodiversity that cannot be replicated anywhere. From the wonderful owners, Patricia and Rey, to the managers, Kaylee and Tristan, to the staff serving us food daily (like Laura and Jaqueline), I cannot emphasize how special they all made us feel. Very attentive to details, to safety, to our comfort. The communication prior to our arrival was outstanding. Patricia was very accommodating to some changes we had in our bookings. They all checked in with us regularly to make sure we had everything we needed. We had a few young kids in our group, and they provided childcare. We simply were treated like family.

Facilities: lovely, private cabins right on the beach with decks, hammocks, and beach chairs. We felt like we had the whole place to ourselves while sitting on our cabin deck. The partially-outdoor shower is a treat! Communal spaces are kept incredibly tidy and clean. Lots of space to lounge before meals.

Food: flavorful local and western food options, all made with sustainable ingredients (for example, no reef fish to protect the reef’s diversity). We had a different baked good every day between dives and for afternoon tea! Lots of options.

Dive: the equipment was of great quality. They paid strict attention to safety and technique. As first time divers, we had zero concerns. And the dive sites were, of course, breathtaking.

Thank you so much, Patricia and Rey, for such a memorable experience!

I love everything about this resort, from the sustainability concept to the emphasis on world class diving and birding. Raja Ampat features an embarrassment of riches and this resort is optimally placed to give you access to everything. The nine A-frame bungalows are made with local materials using traditional techniques, the water is pumped on site, the electric is derived from photo-voltaic, and the food is classic Indonesian fare served family style. Max out your bottom time with three-to-four dives day managed by a professional class of local dive masters, each bearing years of expertise working the turquoise-blue waterways. It's a trip to get here for sure, but it's worth blocking out two weeks to make sure you maximize your time spent in this paradise.

We had the most amazing honeymoon here thanks to the owners and staff here. They made every moment special- our room was specially arranged, our last night had a private dinner by candlelight on the beach, all of the food was the best we had in Indonesia, such variety and interesting flavors (vegetarian and meat/fish). The snorkeling right out our door was the best ever. I wish we could go back every year. It was incredible. I can’t imagine a better place for our honeymoon, and while it is very hard to get to, it is worth it! Thank you for the wonderful stay!

After dreaming of Raja Ampat for 10 years, I was quite apprehensive of being disappointed because no matter what, when it's your dream vacation (and you spent all that you saved up in your holiday fund), the stakes are high.

But from the moment we arrived (in the pouring rain without luggage and after 48 hours of straight traveling) we felt so incredibly well taken care of and that did not change at all throughout the week. The attention to detail, the flexibility with the excursions and diving, the incredible food, everything was simply amazing. And not just that, we felt right at home with Patricia and Rey and everyone at the resort.

The rooms are huge and well equipped. We had booked the deluxe room with warm water showers, which I really appreciated, especial after our night dive. It's not a necessity, though. More are luxurious detail. We did not really miss an air-condition either. The rooms were well ventilated and not too hot.
We loved the private deck to hang out as well as the private beach.
In the evening before dinner, it was also lovely to chill, read and write log books in the restaurant/bar area, which was also a great spot in case of a random thunderstorm rolling through (btw, the best sleep we ever had was during the rain storms at night, the sound was absolutely surreal) .

Regarding the weather, we knew we had taken a risk, going in July as that is the windy season. When we arrived, we did have 1-2 days with quite a lot of clouds and rain. Wind was never really an issue. And most days after the beginning were quite beautiful even if clouds often rolled in around the late afternoon.

The scuba diving was of course excellent as this is Raja Ampat after all. It did not disappoint! The dive center was really well organized and the boats were never too full. Our guides (thanks Bobby and Tristan!) took great care of us and made the experience fun for everyone, even with divers with different skill levels on board (my husband had just gotten certified).
I was a bit nervous about diving in currents, using reef hooks and just in general getting back into diving after a pandemic related hiatus. But everyone made me feel quite safe and taken care of and I managed to gain a good amount of experience and continue our journey a much more confident diver.

Oh and the food was absolutely incredible. I don't know how the ladies in the kitchen managed it but neither me nor my husband had anything to eat that wasn't exceptionally delicious! Always fresh and a great mix that never got boring.

Last but not least, thank you for going to such lengths in helping us get our luggage! We were without suitcases the whole week and managed to get the bags just in time to hop on our boat to out next stop. Patricia even brought me some of her clothes to help out.

We couldn't have imagined a more perfect week and I will forever want to come back to that little piece of paradise.

What an incredible trip of a lifetime hosted at Biodiversity Nature Resort. Our cottage was beautiful, the food was out of this world, the sea was a magical world to behold everyday, and the staff were all so lovely, kind, and warm, it was truly hard to say goodbye. Lots of hugs, tears, smiles and big waves goodbye. The communal atmosphere at meals and on the dive boats was a unique opportunity to meet people from all over the world whose shared purpose was to gather in awe at a uniquely pristine part of the world unparalleled in, well, biodiversity. Aptly named resort to signify the confetti of sea life. The dive staff were charming and knowledgable. It was like a very special adult camp for my best friend and me. Rey and Patricia were our camp directors, alway suggesting and arranging our activities. Somehow we managed to be busy everyday and yet feel relaxed and pampered. I highly recommend Sri's 90 minute life-changing traditional Indonesian massages, and Simon's early morning boat ride/jungle hike to see the Red bird of paradise display. If you are lucky, maybe Lora will take you out for a swim on the house reef and show you the giant clam. My advice for a successful trip is to read all of the helpful literature Rey and Patricia have composed so you can pack with success and understand that this is a remote and unfettered environment that is unpredictable at times and was designed to be as respectful of the natural environment as possible. Remind yourself that you did not travel half way across the world to have the same amount of convenience that is available to you in other suburban or metropolitan settings. Instead, sink in to a place of wonder and adventure, and pinch yourself that you are one the lucky ones to experience paradise for yourself. I could say more, but who has the time to read more about what I think?? Go! You'll never regret it!

We've just spent two weeks here on vacation, what a fabulous place. The diving and islands are of course amazing and second to none, but the feel of the resport is so good too. The staff are cheerful and helpful, and Tristan and Kaylee the perfect hosts, all our needs were catered for, the food excellent (three good homemade meals per day and yummy homemade snacks) and the accomdation very comfortable. Cannot recommend enough, we'll definitely be back.

We had the most wonderful time in Biodiversity Eco Resort, within the most beautiful setting. The staff couldn’t have been more warm and friendly, the food was delicious, varied, with healthy options. Amazing house reef! Such a variety of marine life, with great boat trip options each day (weather permitting, of course). We loved the cottage/bungalow, gorgeous outdoor shower and listening to the jungle sounds each day. As snorkelers, we were still able to join in on many of the daily dive excursions. Very important to us. Our guide was brilliant! We enjoyed the privacy we could have whilst at the resort, staff respected our peace, whilst being helpful at all times. It was enjoyable to have sociable occasions too, such as the meal times. Kaylee and Tristan, the resort and dive managers were fab! They provided all we needed, put up with our endless questions ☺ and were good company. It was so good to also meet Patricia and Rey, so grateful to have stayed in their stunning resort. We miss everyone and the place so much. Thank you Biodiversity Eco Resort!

We came to Biodiversity Eco Resort on our 6 month sabbatical trip around the world and it was our absolute highlight. (Also: the only place we were soo sad to leave and already googled flights back on the ferry!) The reasons for that are pretty clear - it’s not only a stunningly beautiful island but also and much rather the people at Biodiversity that make it so special. From kitchen staff to reception to dive masters - everybody is really welcoming, friendly and helpful. The bungalows are beautiful and right next to the beach, nicely decorated and very clean. Food is very delicious, diverse and the family atmosphere at every meal makes you feel home and you immediately find friends. The dive shop is very professional, equipment new and everything is structured and taken care of. Depending on how long you stay they also make sure you go to different sites every day. Also, Tristan and the whole dive team are really fun to dive with and although we were not very experienced divers we always felt safe. I would absolutely recommend this piece of paradise to anyone and cannot wait to go back myself! Thanks to Kaylee an Tristan for making our stay so special!
