Glaðheimar Cottages

I stayed in one of the cottage, great values with superb nice view, just next to Route # 1, excellent Stopover point, where we came from the north after Akurkyri, and next day morning to golden circle.
They had a hot tub outdoor and facing over the river, nice view ^^. But it takes at least 1.2 hrs to fill up with water💦. Great kitchen Facilities with all the cooking utilities We are a group of 4, enough rooms for each of us, 2 separate rooms, bathroom is Clean.

Close to main road, N1 gas station and small store you can shop for making you own meal in the cottage.

Don’t miss the church near by, just 5 mins walk, very modern design.
You can access by bridge to the Small island next to the river, it stated it is a nature park.

Place was neat and tidy. Spent new years eve here. It's a good spot to watch fireworks if staying over night. The petrol station is just across the road. There are showers and toilets which are clean however they are seperate from the cottages and will need to walk. Over all the place was very nice and the owner was helpful.

Cozy cottages. Staff are super friendly and great pricing. We stayed for a week in cottage no. 29 and loved it. Grocery store within walking distance and a gas station across the street.

Okay, the only problem is the owner put their local area code twice and people couldn’t reach him at first place. But to be honest, the cottage is the best one I have stayed in Iceland for our 12 days trip. The kitchen is well equipped, the location is nice and you will not find such nice price for a private cottage like this.

This place is really nice. The bathrooms are really clean and being able to take a shower for free (as long as ypu are staying in the camping) is a great advantage that we didn't find anywhere else in Iceland. The owner is really kind and offers great service. Totally recommended!

Can't unterstand the negative reviews. Excellent price for a great location. Cottage has easily enough space for 6 persons for a riddicioulos cheap price. Absolute recommendation. Criticizers obvious don't know iceland price conditions for something like this.....

We received an upgraded cottage for the same money. Beds were good and the cottage had all the essentials and more, including a hot tub (which we didn't​ use).

Amazing locations with private hot tub that easily fits 6 people. Bbq grill is available and the cottages are right by the river.

An excellent place to stay, nice and friendly in a good environment!
I frequently stay at Gladheimar; 6th time this summer.
I am also a big fan of the swimming pool In Blönduós, and there nice restaurants and cafés close by.

Great utilities and easy to park camper vans. Next to gas station for easy fill up
