A really beautiful and excitingly designed museum on the subject of handicrafts in Iceland. There is a lot to discover and you get great insights into traditional techniques and modern work. An absolute recommendation for all fans of handicrafts such as embroidery, sewing, knitting and wool processing.

Virkilega flott safn! Mjög fallegir gripir og uppsetning. Var hinsvegar smá stressuð að mikið væri ekki bakvið gleri. Stressuð að eitthvað skemmist.

Wonderful museum for people that have an interest in knitting, embroidery, weaving and other related crafts. You get gloves so you are allowed to touch e.g. the embroidery and you get a nice history lesson about Halldóra, who did wonders for education for women. I don't reccomend bringing kids with you, there isn't anything for them to entertain with and many artifacts are not behind glass. If your spouse or/and family don't have an interest in this they can easilly kill time at the café that we drove by(ömmukaffi, havn't tried it), the local swimming pool or the playground close by. Enjoyed the museum a lot but these crafts are my biggest hobby also. A must stop for people that like these crafts.

This place is awesome! I'm a textile lover, and think anyone interested in fashion, textiles, or history would enjoy this museum. The woman working there was very knowledgeable and gave me a lot of information about the history of certain pieces within the museum. Great variety of mediums from embroidery, to costumes, to spinning, with beautiful examples of each.

Sehr schönes, liebevoll gestaltetes Museum für alle Freunde / innen diverser Handarbeitstechniken. Die Mitarbeiter sind sehr freundlich und vom kleinen Cafe des modernen Museums hat mein einen tollen Blick auf das Meer. Dort möchte man am liebsten den ganzen Tag sitzen und stricken oder sticken. Wundervoll! Im Museum gibt es jede Menge Bücher mit alten und traditionellen isländischen Mustern.

Un museo pequeño pero con una persona que te va explicando el contenido de la exposición. Se aprende mucho sobre la lana, material de gran importància en la civilización islandesa.

Toll strukturiertes, umfangreiches Textilmuseum. Es war großartig dort Neues erfahren zu können.

Heel leuk textielmuseum met prachtige tentoonstelling, uitgebreide collectie van de langstlevende vrouw van IJsland, mooi gelegen aan het water.

Eine Dame mit Charme erklärt die isländische Kunst mit Nadel und Faden.
