I can not say enough good things about Jon. We were with him for 3 days and he made every bit of it perfect. Our extended family of 10 fit perfectly in his pristinely clean van and we had TONS of luggage as well which he easily managed.

His demeanor is unflappable and nothing is ever a problem. On more than one occasion, Jon smoothed out our timing with dinners that we had planned previously in timing that did not end up working out with what the day held. He called ahead, smooth talked the restaurant and poof, problems solved. He went back when our daughter accidentally left her phone behind at a gas station. Our family took to calling him "the fixer"! By the end of the 3 days Jon was practically family as we invited him to eat with us for meals. He's a great photographer too!

Jon took our wish list and added to it, taking us to places that we didn't even KNOW that we wanted to visit, adding places that he knew were special to his country and off the beaten path. He kept up a pleasant conversation, telling us about culture and language but also allowing plenty of quiet and peace to just experience the countryside. You never felt obligated to speak, he was just calm and peaceful and willing to converse.

At the end of our trip, Jon even came through in an airport emergency. He went above and beyond the call of duty and our family will not forget it. I will recommend anyone and everyone I know to use Jon and BR Tours as THE BEST private tours in Iceland.

If you are looking for a private guide I highly recommend Jon from BR Tours Beyond Reykjavik - Private Tours Iceland. He picked us up from the airport at 6 am and took us to breakfast and then to the Blue Lagoon. He then picked us up hours later and took us to our hotel. Amazing northern lights tour that night where we were only ones in the area. Golden Circle the next day and then he dropped us off at Sky Lagoon. Finally did a South Coast Tour (with hidden non bus tour stops). Yes we got lucky with the weather and northern lights but Jon was a great guide and always in a good mood. Pricing was reasonable for what was offered. (got quoted much higher from other guides). He was also very responsive. And he’s a great photographer! 5 stars

From the minute you land, until the time you are dropped off at the airport, you truly are a VIP, with Jon making sure you are having the best time of your life. Not only is he a local who works with the best of the best people, he will take you off the beaten path, and you will see things you cant find on google or that you couldn't even dream of. In addition to that being what separates him from everyone else, Jon truly cares and his sole mission when you are in Iceland is to treat you like a VIP, make sure every need is met, and to make sure you have the best vacation of your lifetime. We traveled in November of 2022 and it was a magical experience and exceeded every expectation we had. Since the weather is constantly changing in Iceland, Jon also always had a backup plan just in case the weather didn't cooperate. If you have read this far, it is clear I would give him a million star review if possible. You are in the best hands in Iceland the minute you contact BR tours and Jon. He is quick at communicating as well, and I could go on and on about how great of a vacation we had, but I don't want to spoil all the surprises Jon will have in store for your party. Jon was a phenomenal tour guide. From the moment we booked it was clear that we had made the right choice. Jon planned a fantastic Golden Circle tour for our two families with four children ages 3-11 and 4 adults. Every one of us thought it was the best day! He knew exactly where to go and when to show up to beat the crowds, we never felt rushed, we had ample time at each stop, and he was always ready to answer questions and explain Icelandic history and geology. Jon was fantastic guiding us through the Golden Circle and all the way to the Glacier Lagoon during our 4 day tour with him. His suggestions for sites, hikes and activities were perfectly fit to our interests and abilities. His Inn and restaurant suggestions were fantastic. Iceland is a beautiful country and we where shown so much varied terrain from hiking into a glacier, dipping in a mountain hot spring, dodging icebergs, visiting a picturesque island and hiking volcanos and cliffs ! Jon at BR Tours is simply fantastic. We completed a 7-day tour around the island, and were able to see so many amazing things. Jon knows all of the best areas, activities, sites, and off-the-beaten-path places to visit. His level of service is simply unmatched, always having his brand new Land Rover Defender waiting for us out front of hotels, sites, etc.

Most importantly, Jon is just a good guy. He was easy to get along with, had a great sense of humor, and he was incredibly helpful in ensuring my mother (in her 70's) was comfortable and safe throughout the trip. He pushed us to do activities we probably would have otherwise said no to, but was right with us in case we needed to stop for some reason. When you're spending a full week of your vacation with someone you've never met before, it can be a bit unnerving. But Jon was so accommodating and outgoing, he felt like family after the first day.

Perfect private winter tour of Iceland. Jon was incredible from the moment that I first contacted him until he dropped us off at the airport. The tour was everything my husband and I wanted for an extended winter weekend trip to Iceland. Did the Golden circle, the Southern coast Waterfalls, Glacier Lagoon and spectacular Ice Cave on the Glacier, the new Volcanic flats, & Blue Lagoon and plenty of extra stops that you would never get on a regular tour, including a special call so that we could see the Northern lights right at our hotel. I highly recommend BR private tour with Jon.

We had an AMAZING time with Jon. We did a week-long trip with Jon and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a personalized tour of Iceland. Jon was very flexible and accommodating and an overall great guy. Jon was great at recommending activities that were perfect for our group of 4. Jon was everything we needed in a guide and more. It was the first time visiting Iceland for an elopement wedding shoot and we had quite a lot of locations to tick off. Jon worked with me to create the schedule and left flexibility for changes on the days based on weather. We did a 2 day trip with BR Tours and we had Arni as our guide. Dealing with Jon to make the booking was stress free and itinerary was left In his capable hands. We got to see and do so much and had the best time. Arni was very knowledgeable and took us to places not included in the itinerary which my girls absolutely loved. We would not have seen hardly as much as we did had we of gone alone. Thank you very much!!

My friend and I just spent the most beautiful 5days in Iceland. We were able to visit a lot of beautiful places, including all those hidden and secret locations, that only locals know, away from the touristic crowds. We wanted to experience and be in full contact with the untouched nature of this unique country and Jon really went passed our expectations, we are very very grateful and happy! A plus, he is also an amazing photographer and we had lots of fun! He also literally saved us, cuz we had a second tour booked with a different tour operator, who unfortunately cancelled very last minute and on a Sunday morning (at the time of picking us up- nobody showed up,due to a car accident he got involved). And we immediately called Jon and within just one hour we were able to still leave and go for the tour with him, best day ever :)

Great tour guide! Had an awesome day despite strong winds, rain and snow. Jon made sure we saw the important stuff before the weather got worse and had a great time. Saw all sorts from waterfalls, glaciers and the black sand beach. Super nice guy and highly recommend for private day tours. Car was super comfortable so all good there :)

Had a great couple of days. Jon was very informative and showed us places we would never have found ourselves , incl restaurants. We could not have wished for a better guide
