Horseback Riding Iceland &The Holy Ram Lodge @ Gröf Snæfellsnes

We absolutely loved our stay at the Holy Ram Lodge. We stayed for two nights in October 2023. The lodge is so cozy and comfortable. The owners Susan and Víðir were so kind and welcoming. And great chefs to boot! Breakfast, lunch and dinner were all delicious and abundant! We certainly did not go hungry. Thank you for welcoming us to your farm and introducing us to your majestic Icelandic horses. The weather was not cooperating on the day that we were suppose to go riding but the owners made adjustments to our schedule and we had an incredible sunset beach ride. I loved Bertie and Coppa! The absolute sweetest animals. Grof is very centrally located on the Snaefellness peninsula and we could easily explore the whole area. Thank you for a wonderful visit! We stayed for two nights at Gröf and what an adventure. The experience started as soon as we walked into the cozy lodge with the heigh grand ceilings and continued as we saw the well equiped kitchen, rooms and last but not least the fantastic outdoor facilities... the terrasse, hot tub and sauna with a view!

The house is situated at the best spot on Snæfellsnes and the owners were super helpful and nice. What a master piece they have created there!

The place is incredible. Huge living room with bar, industrial style kitchen. Bedrooms with fabulous views. We were incredibly lucky and saw the Northern lights each night from the sauna and hot tub outside. Loved the herd of Icelandic horses gathered outside. We rented it in winter for a birthday and it couldn't have been more perfect. Well located for touring around. The hosts were very accommodating and made us feel at home. We will be back.

Amazing place. Highly recommended. We travelled with two kids, age 8 and 12. The hosts made lovely meals, also well acommodated for the children. Beautiful rooms and common area. Lovely, kind and stubborn horses ;) Will come back! <3

This retreat is one of the coziest places I have ever been too. We were made to feel most welcome and the views from the bedroom were incredible with beaches on one side and mountains on the other. It is one of the prettiest landscapes and feels very remote which is perfect if you want to get a way from the stresses of modern life. I recommend this to any photographers or people that simply want to relax. The only regret is that we didn’t manage to see the northern lights but we hope to be back soon for a second try!

Very caring friendly hosts, super guest house with great beds and views, tasty food and fantastic horses. A luxury horse riding experience for advanced riders! I am very impressed by the sure-footedness, the friendliness and the willingness of the horses. They are in a very good condition and well trained. I can truly recommend this tour for confident riders that love to experience fast tölt on endless beaches.

Amazing holidays with great people and horses. I recommend it to everyone who loves to ride and experience nature from horseback. And the guesthouse is so stylish and beautiful, food is awsome also!

Wonderfull location and such nice horses. The farm is amazing, felt so good and relaxed there. Good atmosphere, food was tasty & delicious. Highly recommend!

Since a few days I’am back from another world, where gentle horses support foreign visitors exploring a beautyful an wild landscape. They explained me the speed of live while walking prudent through rough lavafields an flying over endless sandy beaches. Many thanks to Susan and Vidir, you are the best. Die Ausritte und die Umgebung waren absolut perfekt (Vulkan, Gletscher, Meer, grüne Wiesen, Wasserfälle - alles auf engstem Raum).
Ich hatte die 4tägige Tour gebucht, 1 Ausritt konnte wegen schlechtem Wetter nicht stattfinden, die restlichen 3 waren dafür genial - endlose Strände und super töltende Pferde in einer wahnsinns Geschwindikeit.
Für jeden Islandpferdereiter ein Traum.
Das Gästehaus und Zimmer sind komplett neu und sehr schön eingerichtet. Essen vorzüglich und die Gastgeber sind sehr nett.
Ich würde auf jeden Fall wieder dort Urlaub machen.

Fantastisk søde mennesker, god mad og forplejning. Super hyggelige og lækre lokaler. Og rideturene kan næppe blive mere varrierede. Det kan klart anbefales at tage på rideferie her

Das war eine sehr schöne Zeit hier.
Tolle Pferde, leckeres Essen, tolle Ausritte und eine sehr schöne Gegend.
