Hellnar View Point

Gorgeous spot - we had a beautiful sunny day, warm, and minimal wind (in late May). We happened to see a seal in this spot who was also enjoying the warmth. Glad we stopped and walked down. We for sure would have missed the seal.

Somehow it was not windy at all when we came here, and the views were incredible with a blue sky. Perfect spot for birdwatching and sitting in the grass.

Great views! I would 100% recommend. Also if you want to take a nice walk.

Beautiful national park. Nice trail that follows the coastline to wander. You can also walk down to the beach to get closer to the water. The trail wS pretty easy ro nVigate. It's not a simple trail but a pretty easy trail.

Loved this place! We had a coffee break / lunch at the small restaurant overlooking it and enjoyed every moment there. Sea birds are abundant and you can embrace yourself with the nature without the crowd, as most people were at the nearby stone bridge instead.

On your way round the peninsula, if you aren't dropping into Hellnar for the coffee and the potential to see Minke Whales, Sharks and a Mink (we saw all of these in the 90 minutes we stood on the shore) then get back in your car and get back there.

A few different points of view that you can get by walking along the cliff. You won't spend a day on this for sure it's a nice stop

The linear formation of the rocks was unlike anything we’d seen, and the waves crashing into the large stones produced a thunderous sound as the water retreated, one of our favourite moments to stand there and listen to the waves.

Nice view point with a small cafe. Great for a small break or lunch. Definitely recommend to stop by for a walk and some coffee if you have the time.

This place is totally different from anywhere else I've been, stunningly beautiful in it's own way. The little cafe is fantasitc, just to sit out on the terrace and enjoy a coffee and observe the surroundings. this spot is not to be missed if you're in the area.

Stunning viewpoint! A nice cafe a short walk from here as well - and the start of the amazing cliffside hike to Arnarstapi (30-40 min one way)

Nice views and lovely walk through a lava slope

Nobody goes here (except seagulls) which is a shame and awesome both at the same time. The formations carved into the rock are impressive. Do yourself a favor and spend time hiking around. You can walk all the way to the next town over (NE a bit, don't recall the name) which has its own equally impressive view. Not to mention the walk through the lava field is just a cool feeling in its own right.
