Park-lot was spacious and paved.

The walk up to the lighthouse was beautiful and lush. I went in late afternoon and was the only one there. (August 7th,2023) It felt super peaceful being by the water — you could see black rocks and feel the mist from the sea.

Don’t forget to add this spot to your lighthouse checklist on the western peninsula. 🇮🇸✨❤

Lovely spot to sit down and relax! At night there are foxes and the sunset is spectacular!

The lighthouse itself was closed when we got there but it was quite nice to see the cliffs and foxes anyways!

One of the places to stop by in the Snaefelness National Park, if you are up for a light hike and sightseeing. It’s maybe around 1km by car from the main road, and has amazing views of the ocean, rocks and black beaches. Worth visiting when in the area. Unfortunately, when we visited climbing the lighthouse was not available, not sure if it was at any point.

There's more than just a lighthouse here: visitor center with WC's, books and postcards; an education hut with a hilariously mutant Icelandic fisherman model; a mini zipline that quickly had a line to ride it; black pebble beaches; and, more views of Lóndrangar. It was a beautiful day to wander and take in the coastline.

Visited May 2022. We came here for a short walk and to use the WC before the cave tour nearby. A lovely place by the coast although windy and cold when we were there!

Very scenic place. Nice place to make a short walk and look out over the sea with the lighthouse nearby and the volcano in the background. There is a small tourist centre nearby which is nice to visit.

Just a few yards from the Snæfellsjökull National Park visitor’s center was the Malarrif Lighthouse. Built in 1917 and rebuilt in 1947, this lighthouse is over 65 feet tall but sadly is no longer in use.

My husband got a really cool video of this lighthouse with his drone! It was really cute and near it there is a little obstacle course for kids to play on in the field nearby if they are needing to take a break from the car and get moving around. this lighthouse is still in use so it is locked but cool to see up close!

This is a really great site. If you are up for it, rather than driving right there you should do the relatively quick hike from the Londrangar Viewpoint (you can see it on the map). The hike itself is amazing - and most tourists will stick to the roads, meaning that the hike itself was quiet and less tourist-y.

When you arrive at the lighthouse, you will be able to walk along the beach, but don't forget to turn around and look at the beautiful landscape behind you: the Snaefellsjokull peak and the scenic natural landscape surrounding it. A good place to have some quiet time not far from the beaten path.

Great view, nice beaches around the lighthouse which can't be too hard to to get down to in summer. there are also public toilets free of charge and a cafe which is open in the week.

A great roadside stop that's easy to get to. It's only a short walk from the visitors center and provides a nice overlook of the area.

Cool photospot and hiking area. Very windy. You can't get to the top of the lighthouse itself.

Very scenic viewpoint with lots of trails to explore the area. This site is near the southern entrance to Snæfellsnes National Park, and you can walk from the visitor's center. Highly recommend taking the trail to the east, as it leads to some impressive rock formations!

Easy stop off the main road and not a long hike. Awesome views and has the National Parks Visitor Center by the parking lot as well
