Glaðheimar campsite

Not sure why all the bad reviews but this campsite is totally adequate. Right on the river with lots of room and there are both group and private restrooms that are wonderfully heated and contain FREE SHOWERS. Yes you read that right so no Krona coins needed. Very clean and quiet for us.

Camped here for one night, ideal as a stop if you are touring ring road, the most clean and warm bathroom I've used at campsites in Iceland, peaceful environment, there is a petrol station across the road where you can get breakfast and groceries. You can also easily pay for camping via the QR code provided.

After a long drive we reached a camping site that was impecable and very comfortable. It did not match with the negative reviews. Clean bathrooms, warm showers.

One of the best (hidden) campsites we ended up staying in. The bathroom was one of the newest and cleanest we've had the pleasure of using, there are multiple stalls and individuals SHOWERS, which are not very common since most campsite showers we encountered were either communal or just had a curtain. This site seemed a little on the smaller side but one of the cleanest. Like the other reviewer said, very windy so hold onto your doors. Oh, it's also right next to Road 1 (ring road) along with a gas station across the street. If you plan on staying at this site drop a pin on your navigation app since some of these sites do not show up if you try to search it when you're in Iceland.

Good campground we had no problems

On of the most wonderful areas I have ever camped at. The only downside was the availability of the toilets, however it was due to COVID restrictions.

Was very quiet while we were there. It sits right next to a river. Payment is done online. Next to restaurants and a n1 gas station

Another nice, clean Iceland campground.

Clean and well maintained. Only one shower . But there was no waiting.

Llegamos súper tarde y después de recorrer varios camping estaba abierto!!! O agradecimos un montón! Se paga como un cajero de parking y todos los servicios disponibles. Limpio, calentito y eso si...el agua con muy poca potencia pero bueno...lo demás estuvo genial.

Schöner Platz, schöner Canyon nebenan, vielleicht etwas zu laut für den einen oder anderen, weil der Campingplatz direkt neben der Ringstraße liegt, aber wer das gewöhnt ist, dem macht das sicher nichts aus.

Mi estadía aquí fue excelente, espacio suficiente para parques, electricidad baños y ducha en perfecto estado. 21 jun 2023

Super kemping :-)

No kitchen, no warm common areas. There is a table and two sinks that had no water on the outside. No staff, in fact no one on sight either. We stayed on november 11, payed 4000isk for a couple. Toilets were clean, the male toilet was locked but the female and disabled were open. There was one shower in each with hot water and adequate water pressure, only it smelled like sulphur. There is a restaurant and a gas station across the street. Expensive for what it had to offer but there were no other options around.
