Geysir Car Rental Iceland

This was my first time ever renting a car in a country I didn’t know, I got to the office on the shuttle bus which was okay, the lady greeted me and was very friendly, offering help about a lot of different things, things to note whilst driving in Iceland, helped me choose a suitable insurance level for what I was going to be doing, and then I was all good to go. Car gave me no troubles at all, very comfortable and easy to drive throughout the entire trip. Pretty decent fuel economy for an AWD Hybrid SUV (Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross PHEV) and when I got to dropping it off, all went well, no unexpected charges, and again, a very friendly advisor. Will definitely be renting from them again!

I chose well with this Car Rental company for my trip to Iceland this February. They were located right inside the Keflavík airport grounds and only a short bus ride away from the terminal. The car I reserved was a Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross Hybrid and indeed that was the car I received. It was an awesome car and exactly what I needed for the road trips I had planned for my trip. I reserved this car for 4 days, I picked it up at 7 am in the morning Tuesday February 6th and returned it 7 am on Saturday morning February 10th. Almost everything about the car’s condition was great at pickup but unfortunately.. the car fuel tank was only showing half full. I immediately brought this to the attention of the staff at Geysir car rental. They acknowledged this mistake, apologized, and compensated me for it. If I decide to come back to Iceland and need a car rental I will definitely look into booking with Geysir car rental again, the car I had was great and the staff delivered great customer service. We had a good experience with Geysir. Al the information and options where clear and easy. A great online check-in option so you can grab your keys and go on arrival. We got the car we booked and the car was clean and good maintained.

Very clean car, efficient pick up office - and able to accomidate a last minute addition of picking up a day early. It's off sight from the airport but its only a 5 minute walk. The tire pressure was low in one tire, but the warning light came on and the car was modern enough to indicate which tire was low. Added air and had no issues with it after that. Wonderful they had a USB Hot spot to rent to us for WiFi access.

We rented Nissan Qashqai and the car was amazing. Service was great, just drive carefully, be mindful on turns and you will have a great experience. Thanks

Phenomenal Customer Service. The best prices in car rentals. Car selection was top tier. First time in Iceland , and I was nervous about everything ! Thank you for last minute accommodation to my reservation. Arrived at 7am instead of 9 & was able to return the car later than agreed.
Wish I remembered the fine gentle men who checked us in . He was very informative about everything. Alerting us about gas stations , northern lights & just setting us up so quickly . Was able to add WIFI which was great to have , while going south of Iceland. The Jeep Compass had all the bells and whistles . Seat & steering wheel heater, CarPlay , great camera system & the interior was immaculate & clean

You can tell the front desk gentlemen takes pride in his job and enjoys it . Overall a great experience and warm welcome from Iceland as soon as you land after a 5 hr flight @ 6am

Orange/geysir are at the same location. very friendly customer service agents. pick up and drop off went smoothly. the jeep renegade 4x4 with studded tires performed well on the winter roads. will definitely rent from them in the future.

Booking was very easy and clear! We got a great deal for a Dacia Duster. Great 4x4 vehicle, if you expect good offroad-features but other than that the car was completely empty. NO AC, no GPS...just to keep in mind! For the winter in Iceland it was still a very good choice!

We rented a Dacia Duster between 1st and 5th January, which was upgraded to a Jeep Renegade 4x4 when we arrived. Excellent communications from the moment we booked. The car was great and drop off was straightforward . Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this business and we would use them again.

I have rented from almost every agency at the airport. You were great. I love the self check in...and your agent when I returned the car was friendly. The car had some mile on her but she held up well. Just throw some windshield wipers on her for the next person.

We rented a Tucson 4x4 over the /Christmas 2023 holiday, and honestly the experience was seamless. I had pre-checked in before we landed so was sent a code to pick up my car key from one of the automated lockers. Car was outside; we got in and drove off.
We paid the extra €4 per day for the studded tyres as we were driving around the countryside in Icelandic winter and these were fitted when we arrived. Dropping back off is just as easy and if you forget to fill up, there is a small fuel station nearby with two automated pumps.
Cost-wise, Geysir were an easy 20% cheaper than the normal rental firms (Hertz etc. ). So all things considered, I could be happier.

I hired one of their 4x4 for 5 days and the car was so much better than expected. It was top of the range, and performed like it was throughout the entire trip. I went on a lot of long rides and it did the job perfectly.

The staff were very kind and helpful, and gave me good advice on how to best operate the car and places to visit on my trip.

Easy booking, good value. Recommended. We booked a Dacia 4WD Duster, winter tyres included in price. Friendly / easy pick-up. Frequent short shuttle bus direct from outside Reykjavik airport arrivals. If arriving early/late it is walkable with a rolling suitcase. Check with Geysir on shuttle bus hours.

I love the email notifications I get upon arriving and how close the rental is to the airport (we recommend visiting Iceland!). It’s well organized. A hybrid vehicle we rented was clean and comfortable for the our drive on the Golden Circle adventure with my girls. A check out was quick too. There is an airport shuttle near the front every 20 minutes to take you to the airport. It took only 10 minutes to walk to the airport so we just walked.

Had a great experience. Nice young man at the desk was very informative and helpful. Also received a useful email from them informing us about some impending weather conditions. They were clear about the additional insurance options but as we had our own private excess insurance we did not need it and they were fine with this. Our only advice to anyone renting is, be careful what car you choose. The F road signs clearly state that domestic car type 4x4s are prohibited and, your car rental will re state this at collection. If you want to do the F roads to see the highlands for example, rent an actual jeep. Otherwise, everything we wanted to see was on asphalt and we need not have bothered with the 4x4 DACIA duster. It just presented temptation to head down roads we were not permitted to. If you are just there for 4 or 5 days to see the golden circle etc, you honestly don’t need a 4x4.

After doing much research, I chose Geysir because of the great reviews I read online. I was not disappointed. Picking up the car was super swift and easy. Their pre-registration system was very friendly and made everything that much easier. The staff was very helpful in recommending us places to go and things to do. The car was in great conditions.
