Excellent Service

We chose Iceland 4X4 Car rental for there good offer of Jeep Patriot. The were very efficient in picking us up at the hotel en getting us on the road as soon as possible. The Jeep was in good condition but showed that was well used on and off the Icelandic roads. When we returned the car the were also very efficient and we were back at the airport in no time.

These guys were great. Friendly, awesome staff totally willing to give suggestions and travelers advice. They even let us keep the car for an extra 2 hours at no charge so we were able to get the most of our vacation before our flight and after checkout at the guesthouse. Thanks!!!

Overall very good experience. Car was awesome, staff very helpful and nice, especially Kostas, the driver that picked us up from the airport was super nice and welcoming.

Wypożyczalnia samochodów głównie suv'ów i terenowych. Dużą zaletą są niskie ceny wynajmu i ubezpieczeń dodatkowych na islandzkie drogi. Ich samochody chyba nie są w dobrej kondycji, ale nie dziwi mnie to, bo przejechałem masę kilometrów po interiorze i szutrowych drogach. Żaden samochód nie wytrzyma tego zbyt długo. Obsługa miła i pomocna.

Deux expériences avec cette compagnie. La première, en 2016 (depuis Kopavogur) avec un Jeep Cherokee (un peu vieux, mais convenable) tout s'est bien passé (parcage de mon véhicule à proximité des bureaux). La seconde, en 2019 (depuis Keflavik) avec un Dodge Durango également sans problème. Alors pourquoi seulement 2 étoiles ? Eh bien, en 2016, l'interdiction non signalée lors de l'inscription, d'utilisation de la piste F208 sud (j'y ait vu des Duster !)et F210 ! Second point, arrivant avec ma propre voiture (signalé à l'inscription) ils n'ont pu que me fournir (pour 3 semaines de location, imaginez la somme dépensée !) qu'une place en rase campagne, dans une décharge parmi des voitures accidentées. Imaginez mon stress pendant ces 3 semaines.

Le prix est intéressant, mais nous avons trouvé le service assez mauvais pour plusieurs raisons. D'abord nous avons du patienter 40 minutes à l'aéroport qu'un employé vienne nous chercher. Une fois à leur agence, nous avons encore dû attendre notre tour pendant une demi heure. Enfin, nous n'avons pas reçu le modèle commandé mais un modèle soit disant équivalent, sans modification du prix.

STAY AWAY!!!!! AWFUL!!! Ordered 2 midsize SUV cars to accommodate 6 people and luggage.they first tried to give us one car that was very small. Said they didn't have any others. Made a stink and miraculously a jeep Cherokee appeared. Both vehicles were old, damaged, not clean, GPS didn't work, no Bluetooth, no outlet for phones to charge. Had to go buy an adapter. While we were arguing with them 2 other groups returning cars were waiting for a ride to the airport to make their flights. No one was there. We ended up taking them on our way out.
A week later we returned to Reykjavik and rather than deal with those dishonest incompetents near the airport we dropped our cars off in the city where there was a place to leave the car and the key since no one was there. They better watch it... folks will dispute their credit cards because of their horrible business and customer service. The price was not worth the aggravation...

Do Not Use This Company. We had a minor accident, which resulted in replacing two tires and wheels. They first said that they would not charge more than €800 so we paid. After two weeks they charged us £2750 for 'extra' costs, which was ridiculous amount of money for replacing tires and wheels ( total around £3500). Their insurance did not cover the damage caused in tires and wheels, which means that they are easy to rip you off saying we need to replace the tires and wheels and could charge as much as they want pretty much. Luckily I had insurance outside of this company, all things were covered but if not £3500 would be just out of my pocket. I never been this disgusted by someones dishonesty.

Hours late getting the car to us (and the office is 4km from Keflavik). At the end of the rental when we submitted the car the attendee went over the car and noted that there was no damage. Next day I got an email saying there were scratches on the car and was charged 500k ISK.

There are other options - avoid this company.

Terrible experience in iceland. At the first time they were not in the airport so we waited more than an hour.(even though they said they come to the airport constantly)
They charge us more than two thousand euros with minor extra part of the car, which they did not checked with us and showed us at the first time we rent.(we did not have any accident) A staff threaten us that they will not bring us to the airport if we do not pay. So we paid.

In The airport warned us that iceland4x4 were SCAMMERS. And is true. Don't trust them. it is better to see some of the alternatives that are on the area.

THE WHEEL ALMOST FELL OFF BECAUSE IT WAS HELD BY ONLY TWO LUGNUTS----THESES CARS ARE DEATHTRAPS.

Nie wieder..Vorsicht!!! fotografiert hier jeden Millimeter des Autos und geht jeden Schaden auf dem Papier durch wenn ihr keine Versicherung habt, ich hatte bei Übernahme viele Schäden am Wagen und bin dann über Kratzer oder Beule gestolpert. So musste ich unter Androhung Polizei und Flug verpassen 45000IKR für ein Stück Plastik zahlen...

Coches poco fiables. Alquilamos dos. Uno tuvimos que cambiarlo por un problema de frenos. El que nos dieron de sustitución tenía 2 luces fundidas. El otro perdió literalmente una rueda y no tenía tapón de gasolina. Nos compensaron económicamente pero no nos mereció la pena
