There is a small forest here planted by Kristjon Jonsson. A cute and protected picnic area. Walk through the forest and over the brim to a lava field with a path. If lucky you’ll have a nice view of the glacier.

Cute forest to demonstrate how Iceland would look like before people arrived and chopped down all the trees. Simple but precious.
