A pleasant surprise after the disappointment of duomo in Florence. The building is an interesting piece of architecture and the interiors are very rich. That’s how I imagine a cathedral should look like. The ticket is 5 eur, but thanks to that there are no lines to enter, at least when I was visiting.

The most beautiful cathedral in Italy! The interior especially took my breath away due to the high ceilings, marble mosaics on the floor, black and white marble columns and the ornate carvings. The ceiling in the library is breathtaking as well. If you purchase a ticket via GetYourGuide, you must line up on the LEFT side of the cathedral to exchange your pass for a real ticket. Then you will have skip the line access into the cathedral.

Duomo di Siena is among the most visited sites in the region. Every square inch is richly detailed; inside out. Loved the contrast in color and design between the interior and exterior and the work with the black mármol inside.

Try to get your tickets in advance. We tried visiting close to 4PM and there was still a queue for it. Only downside to booking online is the timed-entry that you'll need to adhere to.
We visited when the floor mosaics were uncovered so that really enriched our visit.
Be sure to also visit the Duomo Museum for stunning views of the city.

A very beautiful cathedral. The marble paintings in the floor are very worth seeing, although you have to know your way around to understand them. The entire cathedral, like many churches in Italy, is done in a zebra look, black and white everywhere. Here especially a lot, as the colors of the city are also black and white. There is still such a side room, which you should look at the end, because the rest seems ugly after that, it is also quite nice. But never forget to cover your shoulders and legs, or you'll be in trouble. Even though most of the statues are more than lightly dressed. There the Italians are consistent. A visit is worthwhile if you like churches.

It’s been a few months but forever in my heart. It was absolutely fabulous! Real time masses held. That’s the time they would limit visitors. Either go in to join the mass for free or wait outside for your timed entry.

Absolutely stunning cathedral in Siena. Impressive is not just the black and white building, but also the floors. The queue can be quite long. If you want to visit the viewpoint, you need to buy the highest ticket category which also includes the museum. For the viewpoint, there's an extra waiting line up to one hour in the museum. The museum itself is interesting and worth a visit. The cheapest ticket category only includes the cathedral without baptistery and museum.

No matter how many times I visit, I'm always enchanted by it's complexity of marble carving, by its interwoven 4 styles of architecture that make it unique, by the master artists that embilished the inside... Pisano, Raffaelo, Botticelli, Donatello, Michelangelo and Vasari who designed the dome frescoes.

The is the place where memory will carve cross your heart, a place where faith shines.
Although google says it close quite early, the ticket house will rums until around 6 p.m, however, it is extremely hard to get a cab here. If you need to visit Siena, do your travel plan first.

Legend says Siena was founded by Senius and Aschius and it follows that back and white become the symbol of the city as this is the colour of the horses they ride. You will also see the statue of she-wolf everywhere in the city, this is also linked to the legendary brothers.

The beauty of duomo itself is beyond my imagination. No words can describe its beauty. I was in Santa Maria del Fiore before coming to Siena, but the Duomo di Siena is a next level thing. The interior design is carefully crafted, with every details that is meant to capture the light and create a sense of serenity to visitors. When you step in, hearing the songs in the hallway, you are filled with the awe of God. For visitors that are here lately, you are lucky enough to encounter the uncover of the mosaic floor.

I really like the fact that although it is a religious place, artists are given the maximum freedom to creatively interpret their own vision of art. You can find Donatello’s st John the Baptist in a hidden corner, I am fulfilled.

It’s a sight to see. It’s beautiful and like nothing we see in North America. They have different tickets to do different things, most expensive is $20 for everything, when you go up the Duomo you get amazing views.

Beautiful Siena Cathedral, full of great stories of the past, pay before you enter, it can get full inside during weekends and holidays too. It’s a beautiful town with great history and richly restored.

We came here on a group tour and the Duomo di Siena is beautiful! Our tour guide had mentioned that every few months the floors are uncovered to showcase the marble mosaic art tiling and we were lucky to see it.

There are a lot of art relics inside of the Duomo including art from Michelangelo and Rafael. It is beautiful inside and out and I would recommend spending some time looking throughout

Spectacular. If in Siena go. The museum across the way is worth looking at as well. In summer it's mobbed. In fall winter it's empty.

Stunning cathedral. Gates of heaven tour was amazing - walk around the dome and around the top inside as out in a small group. Tickets needed in advance.

Entrance rate all inclusive 20€ per person with audio guide, that is provided on the ticket through a QR code, is really worth it!
The duomo is breathtaking, the history, the paintings and art objects, the views and everything that you see there, you hardly see in any other place. We have spent over 3 hours visiting and the time simply flew by.

Beautiful and majestic cathedral. Strongly recommended to get a ticket to visit the interior, it only costs 7€! Tall pillars of marble, very high ceilings and beautiful paintings. It's the size of an average church, but you can easily take hours, sitting there quietly, admiring the craftsmanship.

This is the most beautiful church we visited in Italy. In peak season, you NEED to book in advance. We skipped the line to pick up our tickets and had no wait, but if you had to queue up, I would estimate at least 1 hr wait.

If you're visiting Siena, make sure to set aside some time for this, just remember to dress appropriately for churches (shoulders covered)

A magnificent piece of architecture, all of the front façade with its intricate masonry and sculpture and the inside is a large "WOW". Don't hold your breath as you will faint. I attach some photos as a tease to make you want to visit.😀. Either book tickets in advance if arriving there after 10:30 - 15:00 otherwise expect a bit of a queue. If in the queue you can buy online there and then go straight down the reservation line to get the tickets you have purchased. My wife and I purchased €20 tickets each, which covers all areas, what I call "The Full Monty" ticket!! This includes, inside the cathedral, up through the roof space and balconies looking down, crypt, museum and museum tower visit for a view of Siena. We were there for 3 - 4 hours, it takes to see and marvel.
