Beautiful and peaceful temple right on the coast. Many great places to take pictures.
There were lots of food and restaurant on the way to the temple.
Entrance was free. There were a lot of stairways inside but they were easy to walk even for the elders.
You are not allow to bring drinks in. There was a sign at the entrance but then I could not find any trash can to throw our drinks in, so I had to walk all the way back to the packing lots to put them in our car.
There is a weird lack of trash bins throughout the temple too.

This is the most beautiful temple , not only in Korea but , everywhere I have been haha. I did not really spend much time here so there isn’t much to tell because it was extremely cold on this day . Anyways , the pictures can do justice towards explaining how beautiful this place is .( just imagine if this was a sunny day )

This is one of the most beautiful temples I have ever seen. It is built on the seashore and has several buildings decorated inside and out. There are giant statues of Buddha. It is a very peaceful place. I recommend going early because it is a very visited place by tourists and locals. Entrance is free.

What a spectacular temple! So lovely to see a temple by the sea like that. Lovely views from the temple. Very beautiful! Very peaceful place. If you have time, you can walk along the coast to enjoy more of the view. Unless you come very early in the morning, expect to see buses of toursists. There are food stalls and souvenir shops at the entrance/exit.

Went on a weekend so it was crowded. There's lot of stairs so be ready but worth it. The temple was beautiful. Scenery was relaxing and lots of interesting statues. I had the best hotteok near the entrance too!

Normally you will find Buddhist Temples in Mountains. But this Temple is an exception because it is situated on the coast of northeastern Busan. This temple was first built in 1376 during the Goryeo dynasty. I visited this place during Korean Lunar new year (09 Feb 2024) so there were many people visiting this temple. I have visited many Buddhist temples in South Korea, but this was the most crowded temple amongst all. I think all first-time visitors to Busan visit this temple.

A magnificent place to visit. The view of the ocean is excellent and unforgettable. There are some local food shops around the entrance so that you can enjoy Korean food. I visited there in high heels, but I recommend wearing sneakers or comfortable sandals to walk freely on bumpy roads.

A beautiful Buddhist temple by the sea. Very crowded on a weekend. They serve free rice cake soup and it is instantly famous on this cold noon. Towards the exit, the steep stairs can make the exit a bit congested but overall enjoyed our time here. Got ourselves a hot hotteok upon exit to reward ourselves after all the stairs, so delicious.

Yonggungsa Temple is perched on cliffs on the Eastern coastline. The locale is particularly tranquil and peaceful! Nice hearing the waves crashing as you take in the scenery and meditate. Even though there were tourists there we managed to find some quiet time to take in the breathtaking view of the sea.
There is a bridge from where people throw coins aiming for bowls below for good luck. Multiple statues of Buddha and viewpoints of the temple to take great photos or just contemplate.
Once you've built up an apetite, there are plenty of street food along the temple's surrounding nearby streets.
Haedong Yonggungsa Temple is worth a visit, I particularly enjoyed it!

It’s definitely an attraction not to be missed when you are in Busan! The view is simply stunning and astonishing, visit it to experience and feel for yourselves.
It’s easily accessible by taxi or by the Haeundae beach train to the last station, Songjeong and take a taxi to the temple.
There are quite a number of stalls selling souvenirs and street food. Allow 1-2 hours of visit to fully enjoy the amenities.

The long treck was worth it. We got lost and found new friends who gave us treats from his café. It is recommended to get there early. There are too many tourists and devotees.

A magnificent temple located by the coastal area. The buildings/structures are nice to begin with, and this is made nicer with the great views of the coastal area! Must visit in Busan. Many nice photo spots. A little far from the city, but worth it. User Naver Maps to navigate buses to visit this place!

Breathtaking Korean Temple with beautiful coastal view. Couple of similarities with the Chinese temples. No entrance fees. There’s a wishing well to throw coins into, requires some aiming, so be sure to bring some coins before coming. Multiple donation boxes available if you’re into that. Took a bus in be prepared for walking up a hill before reaching.

It is an amazing Buddhist temple with gorgeous views - the reason we took a train to Busan. We spent half a day discovering all the buildings, statues, corridors and caves. It's really worth a trip to Busan.

The most beautiful temple of Korea located on the bank of the sea. Very peaceful atmosphere and well maintained temple. The temple surely gives a positive vibe.
It is spread in a large area. This temple is easily accessible by Bus. It is located on the other end of the city away from the prime of Busan city.
One of the must visit locations in Busan. Recommended to visit with family & friends.

It’s an old temple from Koryo times. While the buildings have been rebuilt from the occupation period and the 70’s, I believe they tried to reconstruct as best as possible.
Cool fact: The temple grounds and rock foundation looks like a dragon curling up for a sleep near the ocean. Hence the name :)

STUNNING! Before entering you find some souvenir and food shops. The temple is outstanding, located on the sea side. Truly worth a visit.
