Esperanza Beach Villa

A peaceful and memorable stay with my daughters.

I stayed at Esperanza with my two daughters, aged 4 and 2, for four nights while my husband was away. We were looking for a quiet and secluded place with few tourists, and we were pleasantly surprised by the location. The beach is large and perfect for long walks.
The hotel is located in a peaceful area. It is situated right on the beach, with stunning views of the sea. The hotel is perfect for families who want to relax and enjoy some quality time together.
Our room was spacious, clean, and well-maintained. It was located right in front of the pool, with a beautiful view of the beach. The beds were comfortable, and the linens were fresh.
The hotel has a swimming pool, which was perfect for my daughters to play in. The hotel provided some pool toys that my daughters loved playing with.

The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, and they went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. They even carried my daughters on their shoulders for a walk on the beach and looked after them when I wanted to take a dip in the sea. The chef was always available to prepare meals according to our preferences, even those that were not on the menu.

Overall, our stay at Esperanza was fantastic and unforgettable. The staff was exceptional, and they made us feel like we were part of their family. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a peaceful and relaxing vacation with their family.

This hotel is incredible!! We particularly appreciated the magnificent beachfront, the spacious rooms, the friendliness of the staff, and the chef's cuisine! (Pumpkin soup is a must try!)

This place literary felt like HEAVEN ON EARTH!
Rooms were done to a theme which is unique for each room and felt so cozy.
Food deserves a separate mention! All meals served was so delicious. The highlight is the Wooden oven Pizza! If you are visiting this place, it is a must try.
The service you get from the staff is outstanding. They make you feel at home.
Icing on the cake is the beach the villa opens up to! It is so Magical <3 <3

If you are in Tangalle this is a MUST VISIT place.

We were went there on 30th of September and the place is beautiful. We had a nice time there and it’s infront of the beach. Staff is good. Will be there again

The food was very good! Very nice and quiet place to relex and have a good lunch or dinner.

We stayed in the villa, part of the hotel, slightly up the road. We understand that this will soon be converted to a Spa. Being a little way from the main hotel was not clear when we booked but wasn't a major issue. The main feedback would be that the beds were uncomfortable.

The main hotel was lovely, a beautiful building with what looked to be lovely spacious rooms. Outside there is a nice pool and gardens to sit and lookout over the amazing beach. Also in the garden is the restaurant. The food here is ok, and well presented. We asked for so things off the menu the hotel staff were happy to accommodate this. The menu is relatively standard but the quality of the food is good. The service was generally attentive, although sometimes a little slow. When no one else was around, a salad took 30 minutes. Next to the restaurant is a shaded chill out area.

Without doubt the main attraction here is the beautiful beach and amazing views. Truly outstanding. If he hotels along the beach could work together to spend ten minutes a day clearing the beach it would be a close approximation to paradise!

WiFi is available and generally good connection. One of the rooms in the hotel has a small book swap shelf.

Arrived to a very polite, friendly and professional manager Eric's welcome. He couldn't have done more for us during our stay. Scenery is stunning. Has a nice pool and grass lawns leading onto a quiet stretch of beach. Food was amazing. We opted to have the seafood barbeque on the beach with the staff attending to our every request. I even cooked the seafood myself under the guidance from the chef. A truly magnificent stay and I highly recommend this place! Congratulations to Eric on looking after us so well!

In our 6 months of travelling full time, the care and welcome given to us by Eric, Aroon and the team has been the best. We have loved staying at Villa Esperanza. Nothing was too much trouble for the team including but not limited to ordering us takeaway pizzas from a local pizza shop when they couldn’t procure the right wood for their own pizza oven.

To be clear - the pin on google maps is incorrect. Villa Esperanza is located right on the beach with access via a front gate.

The set up -
The main property has 2 accomodation buildings. The style is chic beach cottage and the decor is very tasteful.

The unit at the back is a villa with full kitchen, lounge and a number of rooms. They can be hired separately or the complete villa can be hired. This is a single story building. There are no views but the sea is a mere 100 m walk through the garden and onto the beach. In front of this is a double story villa with 3 units - all with sea views. The top floor is a large “ apartment style villa” where we stayed, with a magnificent balcony which comes with table, chairs and day bed. We spent most of our 3 days lounging on the generous balcony.
Downstairs are two smaller rooms also with tables and chairs right outside, and flowing directly onto the pool.

There is also a villa 2 property’s down the road that is used for accomodation and also has a separate building that is used as a small spa. It’s also lovely and is a 200m walk to the beach.

The food was great as mentioned above and the local monitor lizard who made his appearance in the mornings was a delight to watch in the garden.

Excellent value. Amazing pool and view. Great service from staff. Room was fabulous with air con and a hot shower. Very clean. The garden is gorgeous.

Staff even arranged to do our laundry for a very decent price even though this is not a service they offer normally.

The tea and coffee are delicious.

The beach is incredible!!! Absolute paradise.

Breakfast is good (not great) and in general I would recommend eating lunch and dinner at one of the two local restaurants (Muthus and Sea Dragon Restaurant) along the beach (1-3min walk on the right when facing the ocean) versus the slightly overpriced “western” food in the hotel restaurant. (although it is also good food, eg they have a real wood pizza oven, if you don’t want local food or you want to eat late - as the other places close around 7:30/8:00pm).

Ideal place to relax, if you want to get away from it all. Beautiful, quiet location and nice beach. Rooms are lovely and comfortable. Actually, they separate villas. A very homely atmosphere. Food was good. Very friendly, pleasant and obliging staff and good service.

On a recent visit to Sri Lanka we spent a couple of days at the Esperanza beach hotel. Nestled in a coconut grove it offered stunning views of the Tangalle bay.
The service was friendly. Staff made us feel very comfortable being always there at our call. We liked the menu and the chef was great. Rooms were well annointed and clean.
We look forward to our next visit.
