Wellé Wadiya Beach Villa and Restaurant

An amazing hotel right on an empty beach, with a swimming pool and lovely views from the room to the sea. The room was spacious with lovely views out to the garden and the sea beyond, we will miss the sound of the sea as we fall asleep. The bathroom was tucked around the corner of our room so well designed. The staff were amazing, so helpful and attentive. They arranged a hired scooter for us and can do tuk tuks to rent. The food was lovely , had fresh fish , prawns and , rice and curry dishes , all delicious. Could easily walk along beach to other places for variety , but the sunset from our own cabanas which over looked the beach were exceptional. This place was so quiet and idyllic we extended our stay twice until the end of our 5 week trip, spending a week here. Thank you to all the staff, we loved it. X

I spent a full week here with my partner and we absolutely loved it. It’s a boutique hotel with a small number of rooms that are very clean, spacious and well air conditioned. The rooms look out onto the beach. The staff are exceptional and welcoming - they felt like family by the end of our stay. The chef is very talented - the traditional Sri Lankan breakfast is great and his crab curry was a particular highlight. He rides to the market to collect fresh crab and fish if you order in advance. Would highly recommend a stay here!

Had a wonderful time 2nd time around! We did notice the place had been renovated recently which is good and gives it an extra charm. Rooms were comfortable and we greatly appreciated the fridge, so hard to find ones that cools properly… staff were adorable, really really nice, friendly and helpful. Honestly good job, we will be back!

Initially booked 2 nights but extended our stay because we loved it so much. The staff here are so lovely and hospitable, they provided plenty of great suggestions and tips about the area, helped organise transport and were happy and careful to accommodate my boyfriend’s food allergy. And the food was SO GOOD. Some of the best we ate during our 6 week holiday around Sri Lanka. The chef whips up an absolute storm - had beautiful fresh traditional breakfast everyday, plus perfectly grilled tender seafood and other specialties like biriyani, khottu and fried rice. Hope to be back soon :)

Best place in Kalpitiya. Great comfy rooms overlooking the ocean, beautiful clean beach, lovely green garden with a pool, excellent location, and most of all - incredible staff! All praises to the chef!!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this resort with my family for a two-night getaway. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the stunning beach right at the resort's doorstep. The expansive and pristine beach offered a picturesque view that set the tone for a memorable stay.

The resort's recent refurbishments were evident, especially in the well-maintained accommodations. The introduction of experienced staff was a noticeable improvement, as their attentiveness and professionalism enhanced our overall experience.

A highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the exceptional culinary journey we embarked upon. Chef Dinusha, a true master of seafood cuisine, delighted our taste buds with an array of delectable dishes. The freshness of the seafood, particularly the renowned Kalpitiya cuttlefish and prawns, was a testament to the region's culinary reputation.

The magnificent pool, overlooking the captivating Kalpitiya beach, was a sight to behold. The poolside restaurant area added to the charm, allowing us to savor delicious meals while soaking in the sea breeze and the soothing sounds of the waves.

Our accommodations were not only immaculate but also thoughtfully designed. The balcony facing the sea provided us with a tranquil retreat, where we spent evenings enjoying light music and the gentle sea breeze. The beach houses, strategically positioned to face the sea, provided yet another serene spot for relaxation.

The new staff members were truly a highlight of our stay. Their proactive assistance and genuine attentiveness to our needs were commendable. Notably, our children quickly formed a friendly rapport with them, adding to the family-friendly atmosphere.

In sum, our time at this resort was nothing short of splendid. The combination of breathtaking natural beauty, superb culinary experiences, and exceptional staff made this stay a truly memorable one. We eagerly look forward to returning to this haven of relaxation and luxury.

It's a hidden gem! Just amazing! One of the best vacations I have ever had in there. We were there in March, so it was calm and nice. The beach is very near, and you can enjoy amazing sunsets. The food in this hotel is heavenly tasty! Everything we had was amazing. And the workers are so caring. You feel like you are at home. Highly recommended!

Great place, right at the very well kept beach, cleaned daily by the hotel staff. Wondered around the village and this is the best place we found.
We came with our 3yo and we all loved it. I was kitesurfing in lagoon while my wife and son enjoyed having beach just to themselves. Amazing.
Very clean for 3 star hotel, staff extremely friendly and helpful, assisting with any of your travelling and sightseeing needs.
Due to power supply problems no AC but it was just fine with ceiling fans, besides, I doubt any other place in village has AC due to the same reason.

I stayed in Room 3 - wow!!! We chose this hotel because it was smaller and off the beaten track and we were not disappointed. The staff were very attentive and the food was amazing. We had dinner in the terrace restaurant and watched the sunset on most evening during our stay. Try the lagoon crab curry or the seafood rice with salad... to be honest they will make you anything you like. I felt so relaxed and welcome.

Lovely hotel right on the beach. Rooms are clean, with large beds and large balconies and have nice sea views. Food in the restaurant is really tasty, definitely the best food we experienced in Sri Lanka.

We booked the entire place which perfectly for for 15 people and had one of the best experiences ever. Pool where next to it you can have a small party. Hammocks, fresh kurumba, extremely friendly staff and amazing food. Starry sky at night chilled out not crowded beach. Truly a paradise experience.

We had an amazing time at welle wadiya on our family vacation. Stayed 5 days but we coukd have easily spent 3 weeks there. It is a very new hotel and rooms are large and very clean. They had amazing sea views. The kids loved splashing around in the sea, which is on the door step. We will be back.

Fantastic location right on the beach, with excellent facilities and beautiful rooms. The food is brilliant and all the staff go out of their way to help you. They arranged a memoriable dolphin watching boat trip during which we saw so many dancing around the boat that we lost count. This is an idealic holiday stay in Sri Lanka to relax at
