Horizon Kite Surfing Beach Resort

I had the best experience in Horizon. The hotel is really clean, the crew is very nice and you have a beautiful access to the beach. Sebastian the manager will do everything for you to have the best stay at his place. The food at the restaurant is also really good. I totally recommend!

Staying in Horizon is a different experience, everything is just right. We stayed in an amazing wooden cabin near to the pool and with beach view. The staff is insanely friendly and helpful, always thinking along with you, just nothing is too much. We wanted to have a peaceful stay in paradise and that is exactly what this place will give you. With their amazing breakfast choices and the option to have it served in your room it feels like Christmas. The food of the restaurant is delicious, the sunset is stunning, there is actually no reason to leave the resort. Big thanks to the amazing manager Sebastian, who exactly understands the guest needs. Will be back!!!!

This place exceeded our expectations, wonderful location, with private beach. We got free room upgrade to the family room with sea view which was amazing. Staff was amazing, Hotel staff took a great effort to make our stay comfortable. Food was delicious, specially recommend seafood menus. If you were reading other reviews, already may've noticed about nuisance of flies, sadly beyond control of hotel. Hotel itself was quite clean.They were quite apologetic about flies. We're told that they have a plan to enclose resturant with glass panels, meanwhile we suggested they can serve food covered with something like cling-film, and they were quickly adopted that. We spend so much of time in the sea, so hardly used the 2 swimming pools. We could walk along the sea shore miles and miles, noticed clumps nylon threads from fishing nets which was a sorry sight. But beach overall was fairly clean with amazing sunset views.

We spent a week over New Years at Horizon Kite Surfing Resort in Kalpitya and had a wonderful time. Staff is super friendly and the hotel manager Sebastian is great. He is genuinely trying to help wherever he can and made us feel very comfortable. Thanks a lot for the great hospitality!

I stayed in October 23, I chose the hotel based on reviews, I found it great, the sea view from the deluxe rooms, the wonderful food, the hotel staff, and the manager Sebastian. The rooms have TV and air conditioning, a fan and an anti-mosquito network. Nothing can replace the charm of the sky in the shower when it's pouring and the night moon illuminates your ablutions. The beaches are all public, but usually there is no one there, so relaxation is complete. Who came to relax, an ideal hotel with breakfast!!

We stayed in the Horizon Kitesurfing Hotel for 64 nights (Jan/Feb) and enjoyed every single day. We came for foilkiting and could do it right in front of the hotel. The staff is super friendly and helpful, the room was clean. Our ocean view was spectacular. We had more than 30 dinners, the menu up and down, great food, a wonderful breakfast. Delicious mango lassi in the afternoon after Kitesurfing. Swimming in the sea was fun. Big thank you to the Horizon team! M & M

A very nice hotel with extremely friendly staff. Everyone is very helpful and caring. The food is great, I recommend all inclusive.

I had a wonderful stay at Horizon with my wife and baby. Our trip was two nights in Kalpitiya & we booked a different hotel which turned out to be a horrible experience. Thereafter on the 2nd day we checked in to Horizon. The hotel manager Shane & his team were excellent. We booked a double room, but as we needed a bigger room they accommodated us with a triple room without an extra charge. Further they allowed us a late check out until 2.30 pm as well.
Overall we were very impressed with their service & the experience was a special memorable one.
I would highly recommend this resort to anyone travelling to Kalpitiya.

Had a wonderful stay at the Horizon Kite surf beach resort! I specially want to highlight the super friendly, attentive and polite staff! Also the manager, Sebastian, was always helpful and gave us lots of ideas for activities to do. Most of the time we enjoyed the pools and delicious food though :) highly recommended: 12/10!

Definitely one of my favourite lodgings I've stayed in! The hotel manager gave us a warm welcome when we got there. Also, the staff was extremely friendly, and the restaurant was very flexible (I appreciate this). Especially the restaurant supervisor, Mr Shane, deserves special appreciation. He is such a warm personality and is a highly motivated manager. He always contacted me after the booking until I arrived at the hotel.

My whole family and I had one great evening here, adding to the experience. The sunset scenery was beautiful, and it was a relief to walk in such a quiet and peaceful environment.

Note this is not a 4/5-star hotel, but the atmosphere is so unique that it felt like home to me. All respect for the hotel manager and crew who do a great job here; a true sample of excellent hospitality!

We visited Kalpitiya out of curiosity as part of a three week drive round Sri Lanka. It was not our favourite destination, being a bit remote and without a great deal to offer the casual visitor. However, for kite-surfing whale watching etc it is clearly a desirable destination and if you are in the Kalpitiya area and looking for a nice place to stay, I would definitely recommend Horizon.
The resort is modern, very well designed and kept clean and tidy. It has a lovely pool set up with swing chairs and sun loungers.
The restaurant is airy and spacious and nicely designed and constructed. The food was very good and reasonably priced.
We stayed in a double room with terrace and could enjoy the sound of the waves as we watched the sun set. The room was designed in the same manner as the resort with a lot of wood and was modern, , comfortable and spacious, with all amenities. The room are set apart from each other giving you quiet and privacy.
The photos available on Google and hotel booking sites accurately reflect the reality of the resort. It is very attractive.
The staff were all very pleasant and helpful.
The pricing properly reflects the property and I would recommend Horizon for your visit to Kalpitya.

Our stay here was for three days ..Lovely staff and very helpful.. Great place to relax. It’s only 10m away from the beach. The rooms are very clean and tidy. I really enjoyed my stay here. I must say, Shane the manager is an amazing person, helped us and gave us a warm welcome to kalipitiya.

We booked for a week and extended our stay. The team made sure we felt comfortable at all times. The captain and Mithun have great energy, and make you feel very welcome. We needed gluten free meals which they took seriously and made all the efforts to give us alternatives. The breakfast is amazing, you won’t need to have lunch after.
The rooms are super nice, with good AC and comfortable bed. 2 very big swimming pools which really helps as it’s pretty hot in Kalpitiya.
I would recommend not to book through booking, if you can go there, they will make a better deal for you. We also rented Kitesurf gear for a discounted price.
If you need to work, make sure to have a SIM card as wifi is not functional.
There are flies, as in any other place in Kalpitiya.

Shane was a gracious host, taking in our group at the last minute. He looked after our every need and made us feel comfortable in every way. We ate like kings ever day and the staff were excellent. The owner even went out of his way to take us to get supplies and show us around the shops. I Highly recommend this friendly, comfortable relaxing resort.

Fantastic place to stay. Comfortable and ,relaxing and enjoyable stay. Fabulous staff ably managed by Shane Pereira , the Manager. Special mention and gratitude to Malinda of the Lantern Horizon restaurant. His service with a smile is unforgettable so much so I took a photo with him.

We made our booking in February for our 03day holiday starting from 13/04 to 16/04/23 our entire booking was handled by Shane the Resort Manager, who is an exceptionally friendly character. In fact, Horizon would be a boring place in his absence. He gave us the cottage he promised me, which was to my utmost satisfaction. We had everything we needed. The staff was super friendly and supportive. A well maintained resort with a pleasant environment. One thing to consider is the flies in the restaurant ....
