University of Latvia Botanical Garden

A beautiful place. The garden is very lovingly tended, with fantastic plants and flowers everywhere. All the rhododendrons in particular are fantastic. There are little quiet places to sit down everywhere. Also two funny works of art. What I liked best is that there are lots of areas where wildflowers and grasses are allowed to grow, even a daisy is allowed to live between the cultivated plants.
The entrance fee is a little lower on Mondays. Clean and free of charge toilets.

It's a very nice garden, perfect for a little stroll of you're in the area. The butterfly house was especially cool.

Very nice, large garden, visited on Monday so the prize was - 30% for the normal prize. Even the Green House is under construction and closed, there is Butterfly House open. There is A LOT to see outside, which is on July the good seson to come and visit. So colourful. Beautiful, large garden.

Magnolias are blossoming. Of course not just them ☺ many plants are blossoming. Enjoyed the lazy Sunday day with family. Nice location, quite many people though. And rododenders are starting to blossom. Very beautiful and right place to go if you want to catch that wonderful spring-mood.

We visited on a cold Easter Sunday 2018 and the gardens were still in their winter hibernation! However we discovered a blaze of colour in the Azalea house, it was so stunning. The butterfly house was amazing too, so many and a variety of colours. The tropical greenhouses were impressive along with the cacti. Well worth a visit.

Nice place to stroll around, if you are into plants “massively”, then it is moat go. But as that, great visit for 4€, saw some butterflies and snails!

Nice way to spend an afternoon away from the noose, hussle and bussle of Rīga centers

Good place in a nice summer day for a few hours walk in the park. Few green houses with tropical plants and butterfly house. Rich flower exhibits.

Island of green peace and fresh air in otherwise somewhat noisy city. Highly recommended to visit.

A jewel of Riga and a must-see for tourists. This garden is run by dedicated staff and they have an impressive collection of tropical plants. Consider the climate in Latvia, they're doing a great job in keeping those plants alive and thrive! Highly recommended.

The botanical garden greenhouses are a place to seek refuge during the cold winter months. Otherwise, the botanical garden park is a nice place for leisurely and undisturbed walks.

Pleasant botanical garden with a small butterfly enclosure

Excellent place to visit in the end of May/beginning of June when rhododendrons are in full bloom. Can have wedding photoshots. The butterfly house is worth to visit with children, they will be excited to see them flying around.

When I visited Riga in March, luckily it was time for Azaleas to bloom. So, my Latvian roommate (I met her in the hostel) recommended this place. Only for a small pay, I got to visit the colorful flowers and the adjacent butterfly museum.

Oasis of peace and beauty!

Azalea bloom in the Botanical garden takes place every spring (exact dates need to be reviewed every year). In late winter/early spring 2022, the greenhouse is open from 10:00 to 16:00, and azalea greenhouse allows for 5 visitors at any given time. Masks must be worn, and QR code gets checked at the ticket booth.

Wonderful destination for many occasions, plants so very beautiful, even in autumn, when flowers outside don't bloom, there's still so much to see. Staff was also very helpful, and.. you can actually purchase yourself baby (and bigger) plants to take home, which in turn supports the ganden. Isn't that amazing?

Absolutely brilliant. It cost 10.90 euros for 2 adults and a child. Beautiful gardens and butterfly house. We spent 2.5 hours there and loved it. The Rhodedendrons were particularly nice.

You'll feel like it's a green oasis in Riga if you happen to visit this place during the winter months. And during the summer months this botanical garden looks like a small piece of paradise.
