I absolutely love visiting city markets. This one was one of the best I have ever been to. The food area was amazing. There were plenty of options to choose from, all of them looked extremely delicious. If you also enjoy to dive into a market, plan yourself a couple of hours. There were russian sweets stand, freshly made sweets, handcrafted items, clothes, cheese and milk products section, fish section and the food court. Super cool place, I highly recommend visiting it.

One of the best European markets I've been too! Fresh produce if all kids including colourful vegetables, smokey meats, and tasty cheeses. And a lot of vendors to sit and eat good local food and drink at. I bought some amazing Amber earrings that were locally produced here from a lady that taught us all about the history. If you are feeling the cold, it's a great place to get an additional jacket too! Don't miss it!

Must haves at the time of visiting Riga, as it's the largest closed market in Europe.
They offer a bunch of products from home supplies to vegetables and meat. Also there is a supermarket inside the same building.
Moreover, there is space to eat inside the market. I really recommend the craft beer and also the pastries.
The best part as a tourist is the fish market as the fish is not exactly fresh, but smoked or marinated.

This market is a lot bigger than I thought. I was worried that this place could be very touristic, but there were also a lot of locals shopping and doing their groceries. Lots of smoked fish and pickles, and prices are not necessarily cheap, so you have got to make your own judgement and take precautions. For examples, the price of blueberries were shown 1.90 euros, which I thought was too cheap to be true, but when you look at it carefully, it is per 100 grams. Obviously, one packet of blueberries will weight a few grams, so they are not cheap. Nevertheless, you will find a variety of seafood and products, and you can easily spend an hour or two here. A must visit place in Riga.

One of the places that you should definitely visit in Riga. Prices are cheaper than in the supermakets and choice of food and other stuff is very wide - vegetables, fruit, fish, meat and bread. Also you will find here some warm food like traditional dumplings, beer, ... Definitely try something, just be prepared that on some stands they only take cash.

After finishing my Sperm Donation World tour to Riga, Lativa, one of the most recommended places is the biggest market in Europe and it was amazing half the stuff I didnt know what it was, so I also booked a tour guide to take me through it and try some traditional latvian market food was quite the experience. From pig noses to saurkrat soup 🍲, different types of cheeses, it was a really unique experience.

Amazing place to visit..... Every type of meat, fish, fruit and vegetables, cheeses etc, with 3000 stands, under the rooves of former German Zepplin hangars. Cheaper than the old town too.

Huge market with dozen of shops where you can get fresh fish, meat, fruits, vegetables, spices and much more!
There is a food court as well, with around 20 different places where you can get some nice stuff to eat and drink some local craft beer! Must see when in Riga!

Riga Central Market is one of the best places I could recommend to visit in Riga. This market is big and sells almost everything. Why not buy honey from the old ladies or some sweet goodies or sit down at the food joints and taste their pelmeni. Riga Central market can be described as colorful, delicious and interesting.

Great place to visit and probably the number one place to go if you’ve never been to Riga before. Cheap-ish, great local food and beer, and all in a cool setting of a disused hangar.
Covered so you don’t need to worry about the weather, too.

This is in my eyes to become a new heart of the city soon, there is a heavy construction works going on but when it is done that will be very lively district.

The new shapes and approach to the architecture puts an entirely new revived effect. During my trip i was very fond of that i have lost myself in that part of the city. In a few years when i will come to riga once again i would like to stroll there to see it as a new heart of whe city pumping with a life.

Great experience, hopefully more caffes are to be open on the fresh air soon.

My visit to Riga Central Market was an incredible sensory experience. As I approached the market, the vibrant colors and bustling atmosphere immediately drew me in. Housed in impressive old Zeppelin hangars, the market's architecture itself was a sight to behold.

The market's sheer size and variety of offerings left me amazed. Each hangar was dedicated to different types of products, ranging from fresh produce and meats to dairy products, fish, and a wide array of local and international delicacies.

Exploring the market, I was greeted with the delightful aroma of freshly baked goods and savory street food. I couldn't resist trying some traditional Latvian treats, and they did not disappoint – the flavors were both unique and delicious.

The locals' warm and friendly nature added to the charm of the market. I had several pleasant interactions with vendors who were eager to share stories about their products and offer recommendations.

I found the prices at Riga Central Market to be reasonable, especially considering the quality and variety of products available. It was a perfect place to shop for fresh ingredients and unique souvenirs.

The market's cultural significance was evident in the diverse array of local products, showcasing Latvia's culinary heritage and traditions. It provided an excellent opportunity to immerse myself in the local culture and connect with the city's culinary roots.

As I left Riga Central Market, I felt like I had experienced a true slice of Latvian life. It was a memorable and enriching experience that I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Riga. The market's lively ambiance, delicious offerings, and friendly atmosphere truly made it a must-visit destination.

The market so big and you can basically get all the ingredients you need. They have wide range of products to choose from dried goods, fish, meats, chicken, cheese and many more. There are also several restaurant inside the market but most of the restaurant open from 10am. Although there are few that are open early for breakfast.

You can also buy clothes ans bags in the market.

The market is clean and we enjoyed walking around there.

Originally used as military airship hangars and later transformed into an architecturally imposing food pavilions.

Vibrant atmosphere. Best place to get closer to Latvian culture and traditions in the Central Market. Here, you can see and taste the typical and unique products. Fresh and natural products from Latvian farms and assortments of Latvian food. You can also find a wide range of souvenirs.
