Bahia Principe Grand Coba

I spent 5 nights in this hotel and it’s a great place. You don’t need to step out of the resort for anything and everything you need for a family including young children is in the hotel itself. The pool party was great fun for the entire family and my son loved it the most when they started spraying foam making it his best bubble bath experience. Buffet is great but I would suggest you to try other restaurants inside the resort by booking early. You can walk in to hotels without a reservation and they try to accommodate you if there are cancellations. The hotel room was clean and spacious. The overall resort is maintained very well and their entertainment staff keep you happy with lots of activities starting at the pool in the morning till end of the day. The kitchen staff are great too and had a very good attitude to take care of guests. My only concern was there were no scotch and limited International drinks ( Jim Beam, Jack Daniel, Canadian club) and drinks were mostly local.

I had an awesome stay this past week at the Bahia. The room was technically fairly basic, but the bathroom was large and beautiful and there was a ton of closet/storage space in this unit! The balcony was nice for drying out towels and bathing suits, or just having an evening sit down there before going to bed for the night. I loved being close to the pool and snack bar. The walk to the hobby and buffet area was a slight jaunt but it’s so beautiful out there that it was no issue! The staff were amazing when handling our requests for more toiletries as well as when we had a slight plumbing issue, they made sure to get things tweaked and ready to go as quickly as possible!

Nice. Relaxed. Very family friendly. Their app did not work well for me but I managed to make it through. The beach is easy to access and nice but super busy. The rooms was decent. Clean. Nice bed. A week is just enough time to get the resort sorted then one has to leave. 😳. Weather in Feb is moderate to hot. Lots of sun.

Hotel was great and would suit all ages. Something for everyone. Day entertainers around the pool were fab and made you feel so welcome. They had kids clubs and lots of activities to suit all ages throughout the whole day. Buffet restaurant was better than I thought, lots of choice. We ate in the a la carte restaurants for 6 nights of our stay which were all different and staff in all restaurants were brilliant. We tipped them but I saw a lot of people didn’t. I know it’s choice but we felt they deserved it.
Shuttle trains all the time to the other hotels beach etc but we walked to the beach every day and it took 10 mins cutting through. Nice walk. Felt safe in and around the complex.
Can’t fault anything, would definitely return to this hotel/complex. Loved the sports bar.

Amazing complex! I already stayed here twice (once in 2022 with my husband and once in 2023 with my parents and grandma). The staff is really nice and they did everything possible to accommodate the needs of my 95 year old grandma.

The food at the buffet is great and they’re always on top of it replenishing anything that’s necessary. And the themed restaurants are also amazing, but don’t forget to book in advance because they get full quickly!

My favorite part is the beach. Nice spot with calm and clear water. This year I was able to use the kayaks because last year there was too much wind and the ocean was dangerous.

It was also my mom’s birthday and they added a little surprise in our room for her!

Lovely location. Variety of food.
They need to do more for Celiacs, gluten free at the main buffet. A special section would be best. It was very hard to find gluten free, uncontaminated options.
The entertainers worked very hard to keep everyone happy and busy. Octavio was very personable and helpful.
The rooms were comfortable. Our remote died 2x in a week and our TV kept going black, no picture. But rooms were quiet and well air-conditioned. Very humid but we asked for a dehumidifier and that helped.

Terrific experience!

We had no issues with the room, grounds, or food. In addition we had family members with food allergies and all service staff accommodated our needs.

Our server at the buffet, Manuel, was wonderful! He remembered what we liked to drink, was prompt, attentive and kind. It made our stay that much more special. Buffet chef also provided custom dishes for our vegan family member a couple of times upon request.

Tahir at Le Gourmet provided excellent service.

The resort is working to improve the grounds all the time. We didn't have negative experiences, anything else would just be nit picking at minor things.

I recommend the local resort Eco tour to learn about the flora and fauna. (Info at guest services).

Recommend villa 6 or ones close by for a quiet experience.

We had a wonderful time, everything was amazing ! Our kids especially enjoyed the kids club. We looked forward to all the kids plays and seeing how proud they were. It was set up so perfectly that we even got to see the big show right after. Great job team. Food was fantastic at the buffet. Weather was great. We are already planning our next trip back!

Oscar and Jonathan were amazing along with all of the other staff. The food was delicious and the buffet always had something new. The staff seems genuinely happy to be working there and the entertainment by the pool was always a blast. The beach is very pretty and very calm with a shallow section to swim in which was nice since I went there pregnant. They give you everything with a smile. I highly recommended this hotel.

One of the lights in our room didn’t work but other than that the rooms were well maintained and cozy, it was nice to have a balcony to go out on and have a smoke. You could also smoke wherever as long as you weren’t in the red lines at the pool decks or on the trolleys.
The food was good however the buffet was overwhelming of smells for my sensitive stomach so we enjoyed the pool side snack bar and the food truck the most as it had more Canadian food like burgers, hot dogs and fries, but my other family members loved the buffet it all depends on your preferences. Our favourite a la carte was le gourmet the food was AMAZING I highly recommend this one. I had the gourmet salad, onion soup and beef tenderloin I was so full I couldn’t fit dessert. I also ordered a ravioli and didn’t like it so they got me something else which was greatly appreciated.
The staff and entertainment crew were amazing everyone works so hard and is so friendly.
I also loved that they would fill up your reusable cup with alcoholic beverages instead of having to do multiple trips to the bar.
Overall an amazing vacation for an all inclusive vacation with family it was me, my boyfriend, dad and step mom and we all had a great time with no complaints!

We stayed at Bahia Principe Coba. Our children enjoyed the kids club. Elizabeth and Jose did a wonderful job with the activities for kids at the club. Every night kids can participate in a show at the theater. They wanted so much to be part of it. We recommend the kids club and the place overall is great for families.

Wonderful place! The time spent at this hotel far exceeded our expectations. Very nice, well-kept and clean facility, beautiful garden. Very nice staff, very engaged entertainment team. Every day interesting performances on stage. Huge selection of food and tasty drinks. And all this at a fair price. 10/10! Greetings for all entertainment team!

Luis in guest services gave phenomenal service. Extremely patient, knowledgeable, and fun to plan out the week with. We went from feeling a little lost about our stay to feeling excited for
everything this resort has to offer.

BEST TRIP EVER!! Gonzalo and Alex were the best! We don’t remember everyone’s names but everyone was so awesome!! So friendly, and made the trip sooo much better! The entertainment was 10/10. I’m 20 years old and was here with my best friend - we were never bored and had the time of our lives!

This was mine and my daughter's first vacation in Mexico. We were so impressed with the beauty of the surrounding nature, the blue ocean, white sand and tropical plants and exotic animals. The layout of the villas scattered between palm trees, swimming pools, the wonderful lobby, dining area and the theatre was beautiful. Our room was spacious and very clean and the king size bed was the most comfortable. Bed sheets were changed every day even when we left a note to say that it was not necessary as they had barely been used that night.
The buffet was impressive with a large selection of foods for every taste. The service was impeccable with very attentive and prompt servers who were working so hard to keep the stations stocked and the tables clean at all times. I was impressed with the white table cloth and napkins given the volume of guests at the resort. We had Jose as our server a number of times and it was a pleasure to interact with him. He was very friendly with us and other staff members and was moving with the speed of light between tables and stations.
The golf carts which took us to the beach were always available and very fun to ride. Some of the drivers were singing along the radio as they were driving which made the trips extra enjoyable.
Lexi was assigned to us from Air Canada to guide us through our day trip selection and, then, the departure information. Lexi was very helpful, friendly and kind. We ended up going on two day trips to explore other areas outside of the resort. Aldo was the one who always addressed our questions when Lexi was not available. He was very patient and nice and gave us all the information we needed.
The only downside of our trip was that my daughter and I developed what we later learned that it was called "phytophotodermatitis rashes after we consumed limes at lunch time and, then, went straight to the beach. When lime juice gets on the skin which is exposed to sunlight it causes a chemical burn. As a result, we were not able to enjoy the beach for the last few days of our stay as we needed to avoid the sun. The rashes are extremely painful as the skin develops large blisters and swells. There is no treatment and the healing process can take many months.
In conclusion, our vacation would have been perfect if we had information about this type of condition and how to prevent it. Possibly at reception?
We would, definitely, like to return sometime in the future to fully enjoy this beautiful resort.

Hello everyone, I want to share my experience with this resort. I stayed here from 31 Jan to 6 Feb. Everything was perfect food, drinks, services, staff, etc.
But, I have some suggestions for the managers' team; it's better to have more equipment for the gym. Just some elementary equipment and tools are available in the gym.
And, It's better to add some moonlight to the rooms. The rooms are dark during evenings and nights.

We had a wonderful stay at Grand Coba. The rooms could use some upkeep, but overall was worth the price. The buffet had a good variety to choose from. What made our stay over the top was the amazing staff. They were engaging and fun. They had so much energy that it made us want to join in.

The highlight of our stay was an experience with people who work there. Vasty. She is all about people and makes sure you feel your best.

Vasty from the entertainment team is the reason I would go back. She goes above and beyond for people.
Her yoga and Zumba classes are so unique. Her energy is contagious. The way she cares about every person staying is so personable. What an amazing employee she is..!!! So much care and love we got from her.

Had a lot of fun.

Saw some reviews that mentioned mosquitos but they were only bad one night that we stayed. I think I got four bites in total over the week.

Friendly staff, nice facilities.

I recommend booking your a la carte dinners in advance as when we tried to book on our first day most places were full.

Oscar is a great Zumba teacher! We also enjoyed the bike ride tour with Joda (sp?). We saw as we were checking out that there is a wildlife tour everyday which we didn't know about but would have loved to do! Make sure if you like animals that you ask about it.

Spent a great week with my family at Coba. Service from the time we checked in until check out was prompt and courteous in all areas of the resort. A la carte dining was high quality and good variety. Enjoyed the beach very much. Seeing the complaints about the beach being rocky is puzzling. Walk a few meters (in direction toward jet ski rental) and you have a wonderful sandy beach to enjoy the waves. The resort also has a number of included activities so find Luis and take advantage the bike tour if possible, it was very enjoyable! Our rooms were clean and spacious and the buffet was plentiful and had good variety. Any negatives? Well, you have to take a shuttle to the beach but it runs in 10-12 min. intervals so the wait is not very long. This resort was a good value and highly recommended!
