Sabores Sopranos

This place is conveniently located on the side of the major road. Just don't be discouraged by the outside appearance. Come inside and enjoy delicious fish dishes along with the refreshing house wine and attentive friendly service by the owner and another young guy. Highly recommended.

We stayed 3 nights in Sao Jorge and liked Sabores Sopranos so much we went there for dinner two nights in a row. Our favorite dishes was the filet mignon with a creamy cheese sauce cooked just perfect and Black Linguini with shrimp. We recommend white sangria as well, and the desserts were terrific! We are able to make reservations an hour in advance and the service was top. It was my favorite restaurant in Azores and hope you enjoy it!

Because of a storm, we only had 1 full day on Sao Jorge. We had booked a private tour and our guide recommended Sabores Sopranos for lunch. My lunch was the most tender delicious grilled octopus I've ever had (along with tasty potatoes and what looked like half a cabbage) and my husband had black pasta with a ton of shrimp (he loved it). Recommended.

We went here to grab a quick bite while touring the island. We got a bread basket, bottle of house Red , a Ham and cheese platter and Octopus Salad for $28.00

Everything was good, we tried the cataplana it was excellent. The waiting time was long but worth waiting.
The deserts were good we tried the Azores speciality and the home speciality , both were good

This Restaurant is a (hidden) secret at least we couldn’t find it on TripAdvisor but just drove by.
The food is super delicious and you get a great bang for your buck!
If you didn’t reserve a table make sure you’re there when the doors open or make a reservation.

Very good Food Service and Prices

The staff is so friendly and the food tasted so good. After letting them know I wanted my food well done because I am pregnant, they checked it was to my liking when they brought it out. Then they made sure to close the door to the patio every single time to prevent cigarette smoke from coming inside. I had the filet mignon on a skewer and my husband had a mixed seafood plate, both of which we thoroughly enjoyed. I wouldn't hesitate to go back while we're staying on Sao Jorge. The owner finished our night by offering my husband a shot of specialty sweet wine. Top notch service!

Come here for amazing grilled meats! We had dinner here twice because there were 2 sharing menu items we really wanted.
First night we shared the Cataplana de peixe for 2. There was more than enough food, and we were too full for dessert. Also shared the white Sangria. Amazing. So fresh and delicious. The table bread they provide is also incredible, ask for butter.

Second night we shared the Estendal da Casa (porco preto) for 2. Perfectly cooked and seasoned pork belly and stuffing. Highly recommend! Lastly we had a dessert I don't know the name of but it was very good also.

Best meal in São Jorge. The food was spectacular and the people were very nice. We had Certã de Lulas e Camarões, filet mignon, tuna, and all was very, very nice. The price was fair, given what we ate and drank. We will come back.

Incredibile quality of meat and great ability of cooking it in the best ways. This place is really over the expectations. And don't forget to taste their sangria because it's super!

Great place, wonderful meal. Asked for a mix of meats and a chouriço. Stayed outside. The waitresses was always around to ask if everything was alright. It was a great lunch. 👍

It's easy to miss this restaurant as it's on the roadside but it's a lovely little place with amazing views of the ocean and friendly staff. Delicious food and generous portions with local meat and produce.

The black pork 'to dry' is amazing. Like really amazing. Opens at 19 for dinner.
