With only 2 days to explore the island, we decided to contact John for the medium island tour on one day, and the #1 trail on the other. We were incredibly satisfied with John's services. The tour was tailored to our needs as well as the difficult weather. We learned so much about the island, got to explore the most interesting locations, and John made us feel connected to the local traditions & customs. John provided trail transfer for my hike from Portal to Fajã dos Cubres. He went beyond my expectations as he offered not only reasonable prices, smooth communication on WhatsApp, flexible pick-up times, punctual arrival, useful advice about the hike, but he even told me interesting stories about the island's past, his family's history and his life. I recommend Sao Jorge taxi tours!!! The communication and preparation for our stay at Sao Jorge went very smoothly, so I was relaxed when I arrived at the island (in July). We booked for pick-ups in function of hikes. Jose was waiting for us when we arrived and he was our taxi driver all the other days. We loved him: correct, on time, funny, lot to tell. We did a contest for all our taxi drivers over all the islands, well José is without doubt the winner! Thank you José! Thank you John for the excellent service!!

John is a great driver and tour guide. The car was a luxurious Mercedes. You can tell John knows a lot about the islands since he has lived on S Jorge for 20 yrs. We did a very nice comprehensive tour of the island and John is kind and humorous. We enjoyed everything about our 6 hrs spent w him and saw so many amazing sites! Would recommend him to anyone!

Great taxi service! Brought us to the start of a trail and picked us up at the end of it. John uses standardized prices set by the government, so you never pay too much. He is a really nice guy and shows you all the beautiful places of Sao Jorge. We would really recommend him!

Instead, you get a guided ride with lots of interesting information about the island. You also get the best tips for viewpoints, hikes, cultural experiences and much more. The price is transparent and absolutely fair. He also accommodates additional customer requests along the way, e.g. short stop at a supermarket or viewpoint.
