There are shops around for souvenirs, very interesting if you would like to learn about the Buddhism religion. Since it situated in a high lying area, it has a beautiful view of the so-rounding low lying areas. As part of the religious rules or beliefs, you are not allowed to wear reviling clothes going inside the temple. However, if you do not have , at the main gate there are people borrow out sarongs to cover up. As a sign of courtesy you can give out a generous donation when returning the sarong.

One of Phuket's most important monuments, commemorates the two provincial princesses of Thalang.

Set up to honour the bravery of the two, who led their forces into battle, this monument is set up on a traffic island, at the Robinson crossing.

One can park on any of the intersecting roads (sufficiently far from the intersection) and use the zebra crossing to get to the Monument.

Usually there is at least one of the four roads blocked if not two, as it is a busy free flowing intersection without traffic lights.

It's in the center of a very busy roundabout near the new Robison mall.

Bring incense (9 pieces each)...you can buy coconut, flowers and other offerings at the small.shops around it.

There are always some old gentlemen at the shrine to help you place the offerings. Also bring a lighter or some torch oil to donate to the shrine, as they are usually out.

March 13th is the big celebration here at the shrine.

As you drive south from the airport into Phuket town, the road bifurcates: West to all the beaches popular with tourists, and East to Phuket Town, where people live and work.

Right before you reach that divide in the road, is a statue called "The Heroines". I have never seen so interesting a monument anywhere in the world. The world has many monuments - of soldiers, statesmen, well known people, but here was a statue of two peasant women with swords. They were not beautiful or glamorous.
They looked determined, as if fighting to the death.

What my eyes always remember about Phuket are two things: One is the monument to
"Two Heroines" - like 2 peasant soldiers protecting the city; Two is Cape Promthep.
