Probably one of the best Latin American restaurants in Thailand.

They are labeled as a Mexican restaurant. But they are more: the best of Latin American and Spanish food.

We had a great Andalusian gazpacho, wonderful Peruvian ceviche and great Mexican tacos. The wines are very good as well. And the owner couple is great! On top this place is super chill and beautiful. Perfect island vibe

I love this place. Been a few times over the last three years and it never disappoints. Decor and atmosphere makes it a lovely authentic dining experience. Locals eat here regularly which says it all. Top food and top service.

When planning my vacation to Koh Chang, I stumbled on a YouTube video from Paddy Doyle and in that video, he mentioned about this Mexican restaurant and I was hooked, I definitely had to try it during my visit to Koh Chang.

I came there on the 27th of December and it was already fully booked for the night, so I made a reservation for the 28th of December for early dinner at 5.

The staff and owners were amazing, they catered to our every needs, gave helpful recommendations on the menu and how to eat some of the foods. The place is semi outdoors and only a few minute walk away from the place I was staying (AWA Koh Chang).

The staff helped us to our seats when we arrived for our reservation and was immediately greeted by the menus that had a healthy variations and was simple to read. I sadly forgot the names of the food I ordered but I will attach some pictures.

The food came quick and tasted amazing. The food was also reasonably priced and I would definitely recommend you visiting. Thanks for the food and I will visit again soon!

Love it here!! I wish they had more branches in BKK or other cities in Thailand. The food is tasty! I enjoyed the combination of cocktails and Mexicans. So many choices of menu from fresh seafood, chicken and beef. It's the reason I want to come back to Koh Chang to be honest!
On top of that, a full five stars for giving my dog a bowl of water and letting her sit with us.

Top notch! Welcoming atmosphere, positive energy, and scrumptious food served creatively and beautifully. Ohh, and the Jamaica was so delicious and refreshing.

We came here 2-3 times. Nice place, good service, we have welcome drink too. The food is very delicious. Sometimes you have to wait for a table because there are many customers in the evening.👍🏻

Good Mexican food here! They also have home made salsas that come with every main. If you dare ask for the special Carolina reaper salsa it will spice up your night.

I came here twice, the first time I got the alambre (sizzling beef) as it was recommended by one of the owners Julian. It was really good.

The second time I ordered a burrito, it was nice but wasn’t what I would consider a burrito as I think it was meat in a four tortia with no other filling that I can recall, usually I would expect salad, rice, beans, quacamole, etc. There was also sauce on top so you kind of need to eat it with a knife and fork. I asked if I could have pulled pork for the filling and guacamole in the burrito and was told I couldn’t and directed to other dishes if I wanted either of those things. I guess I was a little confused by the burrito because I’ve never received one like this before but maybe that’s on me as there is a description and picture in the menu.

I would say out of the dishes I had the Alambre was the stand out. If I stayed around the island longer I would go back to try more of the menu because they’re doing good things in that kitchen.

Very chill atmosphere and staff are friendly. Both times we visited the managing staff spoke fantastic English (and I assume Spanish!) .

Only a few number of vegetarian options but I dont think you miss out on much. They are brilliantly portioned and taste excellent. I haven't eaten authentic Mexican cuisine but this place is certainly beats what the UK has to offer!

There were not any obvious vegan options.

Very cozy and nice atmosphere. Genuinely well-made Mexican food which I didn’t think could be found anywhere in Thailand. Snappy service and nice staff. Great micheladas too. Highly recommended!

Mexican is my favorite cuisine and the food here is outstanding. The ceviche is the best I’ve ever eaten. Great service and atmosphere. Came here twice. Highly recommended.

An absolute gem of a restaurant, a real taste of mexico.
Right on the main road, however once in you would never know.
From the moment you walk in and are greeted by the most friendly and genuine hostess (manager) with " ok chica" you feel at home, the decor is colourful, respectful and hugely engaging, with beautifully ornate and vibrant murals, staff are so friendly and helpful. Then there is the food and drinks.... OMG, the most delicious course after course, glass after glass, all explained by the wait staff. We could not get enough!!
I could recommend what we had however that would do an injustice to other dishes as i highly expect eveything to be as beautiful and delicous (menu images of the dishes we had). Prices were exceptional given the international cuisine especially when compared to local Thai restaurant prices.
What was so unique was that even though there was a constant demand for tables, no one had to wait long at all and yet we never felt rushed. It was swift professional and seemless service, with the managers (possibly owners) getting stuck in at every step, leading and supporting staff, fabulous!
We were supposed to go to mexico for our honeymoon however covid put a stop to that, El Barrio has made us determined to go to mexico and our whole evening was a truly heart, belly and soul warming experience.Muchas gracias.
Definitely a place I will recommend to everyone coming to ko chang.

Delicious Mexican food and margaritas.

We had the guacamole & enchiladas to start, then two types of tacos. Everything was delicious and tasted like authentic an Mexican meal in the middle of Thailand. A brilliant meal from start to finish.

Better believe it. One of the best Mexican restaurant in the South of Thailand 💪🙏

Owner did his homework from the pulled pork, marinated onions on a corn tortillas, to the cheesy bean Nachos and amazing red wines by the glass ( Spain, La Mancha) . Everything was spot on Delicioso !!!!!

Wait ….and the free mango tequila shot !!!!!!! Whoa !!!!!!!!! 🙏💪

Owner was receptive, knowledgeable and welcoming. He’s a one man show from taking orders and making sure his customers were happy.

Excellent vibe here. Book to avoid disappointment or arrive just in time! Nice and noisy if you have kids and they give them puzzles and games to play whilst we enjoyed the excellent cuisine. Get stuck in use your hands abd try all the spices and dips it was so worth it.
The owners are fantastic and athmosphere was superb.

Probably the best Mexican food I ever tried. The atmosphere is also great, the host and staff were wonderful. Definitely will come back if visiting Koh Chang again!

We had dinner here. The food was excellent and the staff were attentive and pleasant. The ambience was great and situated close to our hotel was a bonus! We will definitely come again. I ordered alambre and it was outstanding!

The best Mexican food outside of Mexico!

We were really surprised at how delicious the nachos, quesedillas and various tacos were. Yes, it's a bit pricey, but it's definitely worth it, especially if you want to take a break with Thai food.

Amazing food and accommodating staff. If you're into authentic Mexican food, don't miss this place. Prices are reasonable. Amazing guacamole!

Very nice restaurant with great atmosphere. The staff was very friendly and able to explain the different dishes. The margarita was very good as was the cold beer. There were plenty of choices on the menu and they have quite a few wines to choose from. The Fajitas were excellent as were the fresh and hot tortillas. The three different salsas that came with the nachos were very interesting and quite different from what I am used to. I really enjoyed having dinner here.

Have been here for second time and I must say it's the best Mexican I've visited in Thailand. The tostada de camarones is really something. Don't miss it!
