GOLD ZANZIBAR

I spent a week with my family in this hotel and it was an excellent experience. We took the beach house with pavilion and the concept is very good, spacious, clean and nicely decorated rooms.
The food is very good, the buffet is very complete and in the other restaurant the menu is friendly and nice.
The level of service is the best, they followed up on our requests and we always found friendly and warm people. The manager Sachith who looked after us was excellent.
The hotel pool is nice and big and the beach is one of the best compared to the surrounding hotels.
In conclusion we would come back without hesitation. Great week, super hotel!

We spent 4 nights in a Deluxe Ocean View for our honeymoon. Food is delicious, service is nice and friendly, there are different theme nights every night, with music and entertaining. There are activities and things to do everyday. The SPA tratments are amazing. They treated us with a complementary dinner, discount for a massage and some complementary fruit in the room. We felt very welcomed and pampered during our stay.

Beautiful holiday in a wonderful place. The rooms are kept in perfect working order and cleanliness. The staff always friendly and courteous. A special thanks to Ally and especially to Fabiola, an Angel of sweetness, courtesy and professionalism at the same time He made us all feel at home.

Went here on our Honeymoon for 3 nights all inclusive. The staff are very accommodating and welcoming . Room was overlooking beach front . We got a complementary 4 course dinner on the beach and 30% off spa treatments for our honeymoon . Buffet style breakfast, lunch and dinner was the best we had for all inclusive. Insane amount of fresh food and choices . Food cooked fresh in front of you. Have to make a special mention to Safari one of the bar workers . We had great chats at night and he made our stay extra special. Lovely pool also and cocktails. Highly recommend this hotel !

I came in march 2023 for my birthday and this is such a beautiful resort and one of the best vacations I’ve had in my life. After leaving a horrible resort property in another location(look at my other reviews) we came here and I was finally able to see the real Zanzibar hospitality. The staff from the time I stepped foot there put my mind at ease and made me feel at home. Everyone made eye contact and spoke to us which was soo lovely. The rooms were secure and well put together. There were no gaps for bugs to get in which I HIGHLY APPRECIATE! Housekeeping did a great job as well as F&B! I mean wow! The food here is absolutely spectacular. I was skeptical at first since I’m coming from NYC and i work in F&B but they exceeded all my expectations. I would definitely recommend splurging for full board as the food is worth every penny. My sister who was a vegetarian was also able to eat extremely well and that has never happened before at any resort we visited. The chef made sure to prep special dishes just for her if that nights offerings did not include vegan/vegetarian main entrees.
The spa is well priced and i had a great massage there so I also recommend budgeting to indulge a bit there.
The security also work really hard on the beach to ensure non guest cannot come and harass patrons BUT the vendors do have some nice items and the dancers on the beach put on a good show so walk with a bucks when you go to sit on the sand so that you can support the local artisans. I’m so incredibly grateful to the entire Gold Resort Zanzibar staff…I can’t wait to come back and see you all again! 💗With love from NYC 🗽!!

Excellent holidays at Gold Zanzibar. Hotel director making sure all goes well. Butlers at beach villas incredibly helpful. The hotel collaborates with NGO helping local kids. Unforgettable memories.

Very nice resort facing a massive beach with views of the sunset and very nice and large pool. There are some activities like table tennis, darts and Karaoke at night also available. One large restuarant with mixed buffet and live music. The only issue we had was that there is no door for the shower area in the room so if you are with an older kid in the room then you need to kick them out before taking a bath/shower.

I stayed at Gold for a week with my family ( husband and kids) and we just loved it so much! The hotel is very big but has not so many rooms so we always felt alone , pretty amazing for the month of august!
Everyone was super nice helpful and smiling.
The food at the kilomanjaro restaurant was very good, with fresh fish every day! One small thing I would have loved would be to have more local food and no Indian one ( I know the chef was from India but still not the food I was expecting in Africa 😅) however there were also local food but I just wish it was more! , now the food of the Gold restaurant was just the best of my life! Incredible!
The location of the hotel is perfect , the private beach is well secured and very nice ! It’s closed to Nungwi and mnemba by boat so it’s great !

Stayed for a week. Transfer service from airport to hotel was efficient, comfortable and the driver knowledgeable and friendly. Check in was seamless. We requested before hand to be booked on the first floor of block 4, for better views of the ocean. This request was accommodated. The rooms are outdated by European standards but are well equipped with stocked mini bar, efficient aircon and large patio. The daily cleaning service was on point, replacing beers, softdrinks and waters in minibar and even provided a turn down service at night! The food choices during our stay was exceptional and with that, also the friendliness of the service staff. There were abundant choices for breakfast, lunch and dinner and also a little snack bar pool side late afternoons. We thoroughly enjoyed sipping cocktails in the Sultan Bar, where a live music group provided soothing background music most nights. The pool and beach area were kept meticulously clean and fresh towels were available for beach and pool loungers. Drinks service are available right through the day. The beach is one of the best in the area and hawkers are prevented to hassle guest on beach loungers or in the ocean. The area in-between they have free reign. Snorkeling and diving excursions can be booked through hotel reception, at a more reasonable price than the hawkers on the beach, with equipment added and pickup by motorized dhow boat from beach. We booked Mnemba Island for the better snorkeling reef and was well rewarded. The boat ride can be a bit long (2 hours one way, depending on tides) but included waters, a light lunch and fresh fruit. The guides were certified and knowledgeable. Our overall impression after a week of pampering, lazing in the sun, drinking cocktails and relishing in the food buffets is one of absolute relaxation. The outstanding factor is the people of this resort - your friendliness and happy faces made us feel so welcome on your island that we want to start planning our next holiday. Hakuna Matata! Asante!

It was a little paradise, they were so nice ! The food is amazing the chef excellent ! Ps you have to take the all-inclusive because if you don't then the drinks are very expensive (3$ coffee for example)

Staff extremely available and attentive. Impeccable cleaning of all places. Very good and unobstructed infrastructure. Varied and very well prepared cuisine.

We recommend this hotel ! Everything is perfect. A place where we feel appreciated and welcomed. The staff is always looking for our happiness and satisfaction, many small attentions that warm hearts. The facilities are beautiful and in an exceptional setting, be it restaurants. where food is excellent, the huge swimming pool, the outdoor amenities, the beach area with a magnificent view of the sea a few meters away and the very pleasant rooms.

This hotel have overall a great and lovely personnel. Starting with the Manager up to the guys who playing volleyball or being the service personnel in the restaurant.
The beach and ocean is beautiful. Clean and Chrystal blue.
We do have got an upgrade of the room and of the full board to all inclusive.
The service was great and always friendly and asking for your need.
The rooms were very clean.
The food was very good and had a compressive offer of different causes.

Staff were so nice and friendly and helpful at every request. They gave us super late check out which was very convenient due to our late flight.
The cleanliness is on point!
The room was huge and very nicely decorated - very comfortable. Hotel facilities are beautiful - the garden and architecture , plus the beach is right there with activities and connects to other beaches which was great to just walk down there.
Breakfast and dinner on half board were great options!
And also was my bf birthday and I asked them to decorate - they did amazing job and even provided a very cute and designed cake!
Overall I had amazing stay there.

Incredible.
Location- this hotel has access to the best beach on the island. Clean, white sand with stunningly clear water. The sun set over the horizon of the sea making it a spot that other people visit when staying elsewhere on the island.

Staff- exceptional customer service. They go above and beyond, super friendly and helpful.

Food- most food was good but the Indian options were 10/10. Real Authentic great tasting curries. The breakfast was my least favourite as it was lacking in options however they have an omelette station, delicious juices and fruit.

Other - the hotel sprays the room with bug repellent. I wasn’t bitten once ! The resort is stunning worth every penny. Would highly recommend doing all inclusive as there aren’t any local restaurants to go to and you’ll end up eating in the resort anyway. The excursions to see the island are well worth it especially going to the sandbank. It’s is in a stunning location with extremely hot weather. The pool is clean and looks very nice as is the beach. The rooms are luxurious and well maintained.

Excellent property andlocation. Staff very friendly, attentive and helpful. Food was amazing with an incredible variety of seafood at different locations each night, eg, beach, beach bar, swimming pool, garden, restaurant. Highly recommended for an unforgettable stay. Great stretch of beach, calm, clear water and sandy, clean beach. Locals enjoy football on the beach. Very talented.
