A lovely tranquil place. Be prepared for mosquitoes but otherwise it makes for an excellent walk and you will see countless species of birds, as well as monkeys.

I recently had the opportunity to explore the Entebbe Botanical Gardens, and it was a remarkable experience that exceeded all expectations. Initially, I must admit, I was skeptical about what a botanical garden could offer. However, from the moment I ventured deep into this lush paradise, I was in for an unforgettable journey.

One of the most astonishing aspects of the visit was the discovery of tree species I had never seen or heard of before, such as the intriguing anacardiaceae. These magnificent trees, some possibly over a century old, added an air of mystique and wonder to the entire adventure. The sheer height and age of these trees were awe-inspiring, reminding us of the profound history and diversity of life on our planet.

The Entebbe Botanical Gardens are not just a leisurely stroll through greenery; they are a captivating educational experience. This botanical haven is a treasure trove of knowledge about plant life, offering a unique opportunity to learn about the natural world. The gardens provide a hands-on lesson in ecology and the importance of biodiversity, making it an excellent destination for both nature enthusiasts and those seeking a deeper understanding of our planet's ecosystems.

What struck me the most during my visit was the serenity and tranquility that enveloped the entire space. It felt like stepping into a different world, far removed from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The gardens are a sanctuary for both relaxation and reflection, making it a perfect escape from the city's commotion.

In conclusion, my visit to the Entebbe Botanical Gardens was a revelation. What initially seemed like a potentially dull outing turned into an extraordinary journey of discovery and wonder. The opportunity to encounter these ancient trees and learn about the intricacies of the natural world left me in awe. I left the gardens with a deep sense of appreciation for the beauty and complexity of our environment. I wholeheartedly recommend this hidden gem to anyone seeking an educational and mind-blowing experience. It is, without a doubt, a place to love and cherish.

Absolutely stunning area with many species of plants and trees.
Also the location of the black and white Tarzan movie!
Some trees here are over 700 years old and until you don't stand by one, you will never really appreciate its magnitude!
Lovely beach area for beers and food, the drinks are reasonably priced at 5k a beer.
There is also a nursery here where you can buy plants from and help to support the gardens.
You will also find a bunch of SUPER friendly monkeys here, if they trust you, they will even come and take some food out of your hand if you can get close enough to them.

All in all, you should definitely stop here and appreciate the beauty. Very reasonably priced entrance too!

If you are in the park and have the luck to meet Ibrahim, then you are in for a great experience! His knowledge of the park and animals is second to none!

We went twice while in Entebbe. The first time was without a guide since I don't really enjoy having someone chattering. However, I can firmly say: TAKE A GUIDE. We went with Rafiqi, who really made the flora and fauna come alive - and he helped me to see many types of birds I had missed because he knew exactly where to look. He also showed us fascinating insects and fragrant sap. Either way, take your binoculars, sunscreen and 10k each (plus guide fees) and plan to spend a lovely 2-3 hours (it's big) there.

Beautiful experience we had at the botanical gardens!! We managed to spot all three monkeys (red velvet, red tailed monkey, colabus monkey) Make sure to take a guided tour through the gardens.. And if you fancy bird watching call in advance to enquire whether the gardens are busy with events or not, because when events happen the birds flee. If its your first time in Uganda dont hesitate to pay 10,000ugx for international visitors

National rates:
3000ugx adultz
2000UGX children

What a beautiful place! The guided tour is a must. You learn so much more and you get to explore a lot of the hidden areas that are off the normal path. Make sure to take some bananas for the monkeys. You will not regret it. The original Tarzan was filmed here. How cool is that. Taking good hiking shoes and breathable socks.
