What's Cookin' Downtown

This place is my 2nd favorite breakfast spot in Aiken. (Track Kitchen is the best! Ms. Carol is a treasure to the community!)

What's cookin is delicious! I always get the bacon egg and cheese biscuit in the carry out area. The biscuits are big and one of the best I've had. Bacon is also delicious, real meaty and the right crisp. The coffee is also delicious and bottomless when eating in. Friendly staff too.

When it comes to breakfast the best places are the locally owned restaurants like What’s cooking downtown. I’m such a big grits lover I just had to try the gourmet grits with all the toppings.. two thumbs up !!

Absolutely a must visit when visiting Aiken SC. Food and service was great , however being a first time visitor I was unaware of having to get my own silverware and drinks. There were no signs posted about self service and wasn't till my meal arrived and I asked where my coffee was the waitress then kindly explained it to me. Other then that the restaurant was terrific 👍

What a beautiful, local experience. Hands down, this is the best restaurant with homey vibes in Aiken yet. This place feels nostalgic, I needed a place for inspiration so that I could write again and I found it here!

Aiken has always been my home, I was born and raised here. This place is by far the best restaurant I've been to in this area. I love the coffee house music that plays, it's very retro and gives me new ideas and clarity.

I had the Spinach Bacon Salad!! It was absolutely AMAZING! If you're going for breakfast, you have to get the grits. I added cheese in mine, they are the best grits I've ever had hands down (and I was raised on grits!). I had the Strawberry Shortcake Cheesecake with my lunch today and it was worth every penny.

The prices are beyond reasonably for the amount of food you get on your plate and the quality of each bite. I am not over exaggerating when I tell you, if you're looking for a place to eat that has an "Aiken-feel" and right in the historical part of cozy downtown Aiken, look no further than "What's Cookin'".

Everyone is always so friendly, food is great. Love the prepared meals all I have to do is throw it in the oven and dinner is served. The fish sandwiches are soooo good. Pops hashbrowns yummy my favorite. The salads are always beautifully made.

Amazing food it’s a little different than most restaurants as far as ordering but our breakfast was awesome. Love the downtown atmosphere!!!!! You will love it.

Oh my! My family and I went on a Saturday evening around 7PM and we were the only ones there. I had the pan seared Salmon and hollandaise with roasted asparagus and mashed potatoes. It was amazing! I was told the Salmon was normally cooked to mid-well, and I asked for it to be cooked closer to medium. It was perfect. My wife and children all had different sandwiches. The chicken fried steak sandwich was amazing and HUGE! The "Shealy" burger was also pretty amazing. I plan on getting it on our next visit. Very friendly and informative staff. We are looking forward to going back for their breakfast soon.
This is a must try restaurant if you are ever in the Aiken area.

Absolutely awesome food and service! I had "The Shealy Burger" with tater tots, everything was hot and fresh. Not a long wait even though they were pretty busy at lunch time.

Place is really clean. The staff was friendly and food was AMAZING! My only regret is that I did not go there before because I will definetly comeback.

I love food and try to eat some everyday not only that but breakfast hast to be my favorite. Were from Pennsylvania and travel a lot trying different restaurants as we go that being said we stumbled into aiken a few years ago just by accident and found this place to eat... we were so blown away with the pure southern breakfast and have ranked all other breakfasts to " not as good as aiken".

So on our 3rd time here I've decided to officially rank this as THE BEST BREAKFAST!!!!!

The food, staff and service here are all brag worthy! There's a great menu for breakfast and lunch, and you can't go wrong with any of the choices. They offer catering for your events as well as grab-and-go dinners for busy families with tight schedules in the evening. This family-owned business if one of Aiken's many treasures!

Delicious food, friendly staff, welcoming casual atmosphere. Try the chicken salad and slaw platter, and the brisket sandwich if it's a special.

You wont regret eating here!! Hubby approved!! And if he likes it than it has to be good!! Rating of money $$ very worth it. Staff very friendly too.

Mahi-mahi was amazing. Great service. Chicken strips were good.

My first time having breakfast here and it was absolutely amazing. Great service and the food was perfect. I highly recommend it.
