873 Cafe & Tavern

This is a hidden gem that we just happened to find from a Google search. This restaurant and pub is Located right off of RT 119 in Ashby. A farmhouse/industrial style feel with great food and service. They offer dining settings in the main restaurant or pub as well as an outdoor area perfect for warm weather dining. The menu is simple but offers something for everyone. The atmosphere was cozy and clean. Highly recommended for a light lunch or a romantic date night. We were pleasantly surprised and will be back for seconds!

Great spot, the food was excellent! Grandmas meatballs as an appetizer was top notch start. Great salads, and everyone loved their meal choices. Haddock, burger, fried chicken sandwich and kids pizza and chicken fingers, recommend each one. Very generous serving sizes too.

Love it here! Friendly staff, fast service, the food and drinks are perfect every time and they always have great specials!

What a cool little place. Clearly a locals bar, but everyone there was awesome, a decent beer selection, and the people (locals) were all so very friendly to me. Loved it!

Ordered takeout while housesitting nearby. Margherita pizza is good; but the Brussels sprout appetizer is absolutely incredible. Almost too sweet; actually. Should really be on the Dessert menu 😆

Will absolutely recommend it to my friend who lives nearby, and I'll be back (to try more dishes) when I visit them for sure.

Event held there food was excellent. Very organized and well thought out. Service was great. Planning an event this is the place to reserve. The chef is phenomenal. Friendly staff all in all the place to go ***** Thank You to all staff and Owner for making it a great experience.

This place is excellent.
One thing to note, the tavern is in the back, so go around to the back to park.
There are tons of parking spots!

Shrimp Scampi is amazing! Best I've had in any area restaurant!

What a gem. We were treated so courteously by the sweet maître d’! Everything we ate at the Tavern restaurant was stellar, super flavorful and well balanced. To top it off we saw the chef taking plates out to guests — he clearly puts his heart into this place! Would return in a heartbeat.

Best BLT, real homemade fries and creme brûlée I’ve ever had. Scrumptious!!

Excellent food, great service, and reasonably priced!

We were seated right away. Beverages ordered, and brought right away. We waited half an hour for our meals to be ordered. It wasn't busy. Server was very apologetic but we were ready to walk. Food came quickly and was very good. I would give them another chance.

Haven't been since Sean has taken over, always crowded. Tonight we got seated right away. The food was delicious. Husband had fillet, that was done to perfection, I had the Brussel sprouts and wings. We would definitely recommend this place 👌

Everything was amazing! I didn't even think to get pictures of thr food until it was all gone. We tried a variety of apps and shared amongst ourselves. Their seared tuna speci that night was fantastic.

Outstanding! This place is such a welcome addition to the area. Chef owner Sean Smith presents fresh ideas and fabulous food in a clean, relaxing, and uncluttered environment. Try the fries with truffle oil parmesan. So good! We loved the grilled pizzas and steak burgers. Can't wait to go back.

Had Sunday brunch in the Tavern. It was very nice. Good selection on the menu. Had a drink from the bar. Service was done perfectly by Elizabeth. We will be returning.

We stopped here on our way to a hockey game at Cushing Academy, and we're at glad we did! Has a gastro-pub menu vibe but unpretentious. We had a great Sunday morning brunch - I had an excellent brunch burger (cooked perfectly, and topped with a fried egg!). My daughter had a French toast special (they used cornflakes for extra crunch!), my son had a classic eggs Benedict ("amazing!" In his words), and my husband had steak and eggs. There's a cool looking cocktail menu too if you are into that (including brunch cocktails like bloody Mary, etc). Partway through the meal, they even lit the real fireplace. Setting is beautiful, we sat in a dining room that looks newly refurbished but gorgeous old exposed wood beams, and the tavern part looks historic and so charming. If we are in the area again we will definitely make time to come back!

There were 8 of us. We ordered lots of apps, then entrees and desserts. All delicious. The cosmo martini is awesome as is the expresso martini. Wait staff is very knowledgeable and attentive.
