Muynak Hotel

I stayed here for one night and it was lovely. For only 90,000 som, it was a very good deal! The owner welcomed us with open arms and offered to cook us dinner that night and breakfast the next morning. The rooms are very spacious, there were 4 beds in the room I stayed in but my partner and I had the whole room to ourselves. There was heating and an air-con in the room. The beds were comfortable too. The bathroom is old but nice, with hot water, toilet paper, towels and shampoo provided. Also gave us the registration slips too!
I would stay here again!

Stayed here for a night when we were desperately looking for an option to stay after discovering the horrible living conditions in the Yurt camp next to the Muynak Ship Cemetery.

There is obviously no pre-booking as this hotel is not listed anywhere. We simply walked and asked for a room.

The hotel is quite old, slightly dilapidated, but it was just fine for us. The owner was super friendly and helpful.

We didn't understand Uzbek and he didn't speak English or any other language we know but he was a big fan of Bollywood and kept exclaiming Shahrukh Khan and Mithun Chakraborty every time he saw us.

Anyways, the stay is basic - the room comes with 2 single beds. Shower was reasonably strong and had hot water.

This place was a relief and saved us from having to go back to Nukus through exorbitant means.

We had breakfast the next day, which was decent. The owner's wife cooked us some eggs. The owner also arranged transport back to Nukus for us at a nominal cost.

I slept here 2 nights, the family here was very welcoming and the breakfast is good too. The rooms have some scratches here and there and aren’t in the best condition, but in total very good for 100k a night

Moynaq, Uzbekistan

It’s hard to believe that Moynaq used to be a port town of 30,000 people. Unfortunately, Soviet irrigation projects drained the Aral Sea’s tributaries and left Moynak 93 miles from the nearest water source. The seabed was further polluted with runoff from the cotton industry.

budget hotel with hot water and good food, close to the aral sea ship graveyard. the manager is a nice person.

I hate to leave bad reviews, even more since the staff is really nice. Drove us a bit everywhere, gave us tips.
BUT, in the rooms there was no toilet paper, no soap and no WiFi. I can live with that. There was no water in the toilets or the sink. No blankets either. I can't live without.
The place was dirty, looks like bathroom is cleaned every 2 months.
At least there was hot water in the shower.

Max 2 stars hotel. A bit dirty, a bit uncomfy beds, but close to the dead ships if you came for that.
