Areni Cave 1 is an archaeological treasure trove that transports you through time. Walking through its ancient chambers, I couldn't help but be amazed by the rich history it holds. The fact that it's one of the world's oldest winemaking sites is fascinating! The guided tour was enlightening, and the chance to explore a place so integral to human history left me in awe. A must-visit for history enthusiasts and anyone with an appreciation for the past!

Worth to visit the place and the cave holds many secrets inside itself. I really recommend everyone who is travelling to Armenia to visit this fascinating cave.
Archaeologists have discovered the earliest known leather shoe(right now in the History Museum of Armenia, Yerevan), the oldest humanoid brain, an earliest known winery in the world, a straw skirt dating to 3900 yrs BCE, jewellery and several artifacts from this cave.

Photography inside the cave is prohibited.

The arrangement to reach the place was properly done. There is 10000 AMD charges for the ticket. Place is worth to visit. There are nice restaurants and a water park in the bottom of the cave. Recommended for family visit.

This cave housed the oldest wine processing “Factory”. It goes back to 4000-3800 BC. Artifacts excavated includes fired vessels and circular plastered structures. Both the ceramic vessels and plastered structures
contained human and/or other organic remains. A variety of well-preserved artifacts were excavated: basketry, wool and linen textiles, cordage, fragments of copper objects, and implements of wood and bone.

Near the cave there are many restaurants on the riverbed, wineries and lot of people selling fresh fruits from the gardens. Roads are below average and needs a lot of attention if you are driving

Good experience visiting the cave except that is was much smaller than I expected. Entry without a guide is 1,000 dram. They seem to still be digging for archeological findings and hope more will come out of it.

Small cave with an interesting history. I highly recommend to make a quick stop here if you’re on your way to Noravank, you won’t be disappointed!

The cave costs AMD 1500 to see with a guide or AMD 1000 without. It is an archaeological site where they found the world's oldest leather shoe and wine making jars from thousands of years ago as proof that the practice exists from since man has known time. This cave houses bats and different birds.

It was a lot bigger than what I have expected. The only disadvantage of this place is the opening hours. It means 10 am.
I highly recommend visiting this place, don't miss it since it is hidden behind restaurants.

The cave was absolutely stunning, and our guide, who spoke flawless English, possessed extensive knowledge about the cave's history and the cultural heritage of the surrounding areas. I highly recommend it.
