Utter beautiful church in the area known as the Vatican City of Armenia. It's not in the larger complex but us only a short walk away and rather quieter as a result. Well worth a visit in my opinion.

It's a must visit site located in the spiritual center of Armenia, Vagharshapat city (aka Echmiadzin). I'd suggest visiting the church on workdays to avoid crowds and wedding ceremonies

The armenians like this church very much. Maybe it's favourite church of majority in Echmiadzin. You have to go and see by your eyes and of course soul. UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Saint Gayane is a very unique church situated in Vagharshapat.
According to a legend, it is built on a site where saint Gayane (one of the 37 virgins who fled the Roman Empire because they were Christians) was executed.
You can still visit her tomb which is situated under the right side of the altar.
The church is decorated with lavish ornaments . It is one of the important places to visit if you are travelling in Armenia!

Nice church. There's not a lot of decoration, but there's a famous cript of a saint there

The Church of Saint Gayane (Armenian: Սուրբ Գայանե եկեղեցի; pronounced Surb Gayane) is a 7th-century Armenian church in Vagharshapat (Etchmiadzin), the religious center of Armenia. It is located within walking distance from the Etchmiadzin Cathedral of 301. St. Gayane was built by Catholicos Ezra I in the year 630. Its design has remained unchanged despite partial renovations of the dome and some ceilings in 1652.

Gayane was the name of an abbess who was martyred with other nuns by Tiridates III of Armenia in the year 301, and subsequently made a saint of the Armenian Apostolic Church.

In 2000, Saint Gayane Church was listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Sites along with historical churches of Vagharshapat.

Saint Gayane along with eminent churches such as Saint Hripsime, Cathedral of Zvartnots and the Mother Church of Holy Etchmiadzin would become the essence and the pillar of spiritual strength of Christian Armenia.
