Haus Hepi

The owner is very friendly and helpful. He is British and that made it very easy to communicate with him as we don't speak German.

The included breakfast is quite good. Makes for a great start for the day.

The house is so beautifully decorated, you will fall in love with it. It has all the modern amenities you can ask for. The owner Larry is a real gem of a person. He was very accommodating in all our requests. The quality of morning breakfast he serves beats any five star hotel.

We spent 3 nights there, the breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Our host Larry always asked about our day/goals for the day and gave useful tips/hints about the weather / things to see in the vicinity.

Hands down, this is THE best stay for multiple reasons. Pleasant stay, welcoming hosts, amazing views, great location, delicious breakfast. We have travelled a lot of places in Europe and this stay is on top of the list. The hosts are very friendly and very knowledgeable about the place and helped us plan our day with the activities.

My husband and I traveled to Europe for two weeks for our honeymoon, we stayed in numerous different places while traveling, and Haus Hepi was our favorite! Adorable, peaceful, with beautiful views, and a lovely breakfast. Lisa and Larry are super helpful with giving tips and advice for those not familiar with the area. Definitely recommend!

Amazing stay, amazing hosts and amazing location. Couldn’t have asked for more from our hosts in Hallstatt. They had an amazing breakfast in the morning and the rooms are super cozy and cute. Absolutely loved hosts Larry and Lisa. Look forward to going back during ski season.

Hands down the highlight of my two and a half weeks in the Salzgammerhut!! Larry and Lisa are just as delightful as their home. I loved coming back here after a day of exploring. Our stay at Haus Hepi was sensational. The house is located on the hillside in Obertraun with stunning views of The Valley. Larry and Lisa were very friendly, caring and their attention to detail around the house was well noticed. Breakfast was delicious and included daily freshly baked goods. Be sure to ask them about activity options in the area and take advantage of the reading room

Our stay at Haus Hepi was amazing! The location of the house was perfect and the landscape around it beautiful. From there it is very easy to go to other places by public transport if you don't come with a car. I would totally recommend this!

This is one of my favourite places to stay. It’s in a beautiful location with stunning views of mountains and the lake, Hallstatt can be seen from the front balconies. Having visited many times over the years, I can recommend every season as each has something different to offer - skiing, walking, cycling or just sightseeing. I would recommend driving as there’s lots of places to visit. Lisa and Larry are excellent hosts and nothing is too much trouble. The food is top notch, thanks to Larry who is an excellent chef! Haus Hepi is really clean, comfortable and well presented in a traditional Austrian style. Lisa is constantly changing the decorations in keeping with the seasons and events so there’s always something new to look at. I’m getting carried away, but only because I was looking at pics of our last visit and wish we were there now! I’ve normally booked direct to get the best price. Sharing a lovely moment here. The place location is excellent. Breakfast is fantastic. Place is clean and tidy. Quiet area with a clam mountain view. Shower is strong and hot as u aspire. Service mind from the owner is fantastic. Parking is provided. Price is reasonable and which is not expensive compare to sleeping in the hallstatt area. I will return again for other season.

I loved our stay at House Hepi. I rate this place a 10/10! Larry and Lisa are wonderful hosts whom pay attention to detail. A perfect breakfast with a lovely view! A perfect room with LOVELY decorations. The way they decorated the B&B makes you never want to leave! It’s a perfect Christmas getaway. I highly recommend staying here if you plan to explore Hallstatt o the nearby towns. The train station is a short 4 min walk and you also have a bus to take to to Hallstatt!

Haus Hepi is a rare find. Well situated near bus and train stops with easy access to many local attractions and adjacent communities. The property is very well maintained, clean and comfortable. The true stars though are the hosts. Larry and Lisa provide a warm friendly environment. They are knowledgable and extremely helpful with activity planning, transport arrangement and much more. If you stay on a night Larry is cooking you are in for a treat. We very much enjoyed a day of hiking followed by some of the best food in the area. This accommodation is a gem and could not be more highly recommended.

Again we had a fantastic stay. It is like staying home from home for us. We had 2 rooms this time. The breakfast is plentiful and the Hosts are very accommodating and nothing is too much trouble. We always have a fabulous time staying here for our skiing trip.

Great location just away from the bustle of Hallstatt in quiet and low key Obertraun. Clean and comfortable rooms. Excellent breakfast. Accommodating to vegetarians. Hosts were gracious and helpful. Great hikes just out the back of the house.
