I da Mitt

Loved this fairytale stop on our Austria adventure. The town gets incredibly busy during the daytime so being able to stay right in the square and enjoy the town after tourists cleared out was a treat. While enjoying a drink at the hotel bar we noticed several locals started showing up. Soon there was a full blown orchestra being setup in the middle of the square. It was such a fun surprise! We had the best time here and hope to be back soon. 2-3 nights is perfect.

I da Mitt is a hotel my husband and I will remember for our whole lives. It was that memorable. Cute, cozy and romantic. From the room windows you can see the market square. The beds were comfortable and the shower was really nice. Especially after such a long trip to get there it was nice to be greeted so warmly and with a comfortable bed and nice bathroom. The entire craftmanship of the hotel and the furniture was lovely. The cider at the downstairs bar was so good as well as the beer. Breakfast was great! We felt very welcomed. We can't wait to return one day. Thank you for the memories you gave us!

So romantic. Great renovations, comfortable beds, delicious breakfast. Great outdoor seating for coffee or the local (delicious) beer. Highly recommended to all. The owner is warm and welcoming. Everything you need to know (where to eat dinner etc) is left out for you. We will be back!

Room was recently renovated, very cosy, very clean, with very good breakfast, and extremely central location right next to the main square. Owner was very friendly too.

If we had to be picky, a downside was that tissues / tissue box was not provided, and minor cobwebs in remote corners of the ceiling. Price was not cheap, but room quality more than made up for it. Bed was comfortable, shower was very good.

Overall, an excellent stay and well worth another stay and recommendation to friends.

The entire landscape of this place is beautiful. The location of the hotel was very convenient as it was at the central square of the village. There were very nice vibes in the afternoon/night in the square, where we enjoyed our wine (from the hotel). The room was spacious and cozy with traditional touches.

The boss is very nice and welcoming. The staff (during breakfast) is very helpful. We were offered a room with balcony. The view was great (market of Hallstatt). Breakfast was amazing, nice coffee and variety of choices in cheese, bread and ham. Will certainly recommend this hotel to travellers of Hallstatt!

Amazing find of a hotel in Hallstatt. I da Mitt is right in the center of the town’s plaza and just a short walk from all the sights and restaurants. Hallstatt is a small town, so everything is pretty much walkable.

The room is clean and spacious. Bed is comfortable. Bathroom is large and well-equipped.

Thomas the owner is really nice and pleasant. We arrived before check-in time and he was kind enough to let us leave our bags with the hotel. And when it came to check-in time, all the bags have been nicely delivered in our room upstairs (no elevator in the hotel).

The breakfast that came with the room was tasty. The staff was really friendly tending to our needs. Highly recommended friendly hotel in Hallstatt.

Had an amazing stay at I da Mitt. Service was beyond our expectation. The hotel decoration was really cute, we enjoyed homemade breakfast, and everything. I'll definitely stay here again if I come to Hallstatt.

Very cute, centrally located. Clean, modern and cozy rooms. Small but very popular bar located on ground floor that definitely was definitely the place to be for a glass of wine or nice beer. Highly recommend!

Thomas is an accommodating host. He was able to prepare breakfast early. We went on the salt mine tour. Even held our luggage until 130pm to catch our ferry back to the train.

Highest recommendation for In Da Mitt. The owner Tom made us feel welcome and made sure we had everything we needed. The building is right in the middle of the town center. Building is charming and the bar area is small but cozy and comfortable. The rooms are very recently updated and the updates are very well done. Comfortable bed, great updated bathroom, and just a great place to stay. Light breakfast was provided with high quality pastries, fruits, meats, and cheeses.

One of the best stays ever! The Hotel is located in the town center and offers a delicious breakfast. The rooms are big, new and comfy. The owner is pleasant and helpful. I would always come back here!

This is the inn we stayed for 2 nights. The name of I da Mitt-literally translated as "In the center of Hallstatt” The owners converted their parents' house into a small hotel. As for why I decided to choose this small hotel with only four guest rooms? Because its location and online reviews are the best in Hallstatt. It retains the characteristics of local old houses while providing modern comfort, and the rooms are larger than most European hotels. It also provides a well-received breakfast with local characteristics and a comfortable coffee-bar, which makes people feel warm. From the layout of the room to the quality of the breakfast, it all reflects the care of the owner. Our room is #4 which with a balcony and great view of the Marktplatz. From the left corner of the balcony, you can see part of the lake. Highly recommend!

Everything was spotless. The rooms were amazing and the most comfortable bed ever.
No matter what you asked Tom, it was always a yes with a smile. Nothing was too much trouble
The lady at breakfast the next day was exactly the same, she was wonderful.
The location was brilliant.
I will recommend this hotel to everyone.

Gorgeous little hotel in centre of Holstatt. Room was fab and obviously recently refurbished, mini bar full of free drinks. Lovely authentic little bar downstairs full of locals at night. Breakfast was delicious and generous. Couldn't fault the place!

We came to Hallstatt in early November and were lucky to stay at I da Mitt (aka to us now, Tom’s place). The hotel is recently and beautiful refurbished- from the pine floors, beds and furniture to the tiles and fixtures in the restrooms. The beds were very comfortable and our room had a cute reading nook and nice views.
The bar downstairs seems to be the popular spot in town, and I am sure it is because everyone comes to see Tom. He was the true highlight of our time in Hallstatt. He is born and raised here, and this is the house he grew up in. He was such a great host while we were here.
We cannot wait to come back to Hallstatt and stay in I da Mitt again.

Everything was fantastic with the stay. The hotel couldn’t have been located in a better spot. The rooms were extremely clean and comfortable. Breakfast was perfect! Thanks to Tom and his staff for an amazing experience.

BAR - We stumbled across this as we were staying in a hotel nearby and noticed all the locals were popping in to say hi to Thomas the owner. We only ever had wine and drinks here. It is LOVELY and so nice and warm inside. We could have spent hours there. Thomas is lovely and accommodating. It's the best Mulled Cider i had in austria.
