Gasthof Simony- Hallstatt

We had a wonderful night stay here. The hotel's location is excellent, being close to the pier and the square, and there are very delicious restaurants nearby. This time, we booked two rooms, and the hotel arranged for us to have a small balcony with a lake view between the two rooms. Our family enjoyed snacks while admiring the lake view on the balcony.

The breakfast was abundant and delicious. Although it rained, so we couldn't have breakfast by the lake, the rain stopped later, and they opened up the lakeside platform for us to take photos. We will definitely choose to stay here again in the future.

Incredibly pleasant staff. Beautiful hotel. Our room had a view of the lake and the Alps and it was incredible. Very tasty breakfasts on the veranda overlooking the lake. We were very satisfied. Would recommend!

We had a great experience staying at the Gasthof Simony, rooms were super spacious with decent amenities (Apartment doesn't had room heaters, have not attached bathroom).

All attractions are at a walkable distance including a supermarket which is at Lahn.

The staff was super helpful and supportive.

The open breakfast area is nice and sceneric with a beautiful view to lake Hallstatt though the breakfast menu was limited.

Overall our experience was really good, strong recommendation for the stay.

We had a great stay at the Gasthof in the rooms with balcony with the beautiful view of the lake. Everything was nice and clean, breakfast delicious. The price of accommodation is reasonable for the location.
The inn has a nice patio right on the lake. There is a ladder to the lake where you can swim. Amazing!

We are quite unfortunate to meet a noisy couple who are very inconsiderate on the first night and could not had a good rest.
We highlighted to the Claudia and even though she was on leave she check and made arrangements to ensure we have a quiet room for another night.

The price, location and lastly the service make up for any small complaints I seen in all the reviews.

The hotel is pretty old and noisy, and the creaky wooden floor and the wall is not soundproof. There is no lift here, I had to carry the heavy luggage all the way to the room which is the top. But everything was completely gone when I saw the view.

There was an absolutely stunning view as worth my afford.

The staffs were very helpful, some of them might be unable to speak English, but it is alright.

Breakfast is acceptable, and you can have a seat outside next to the lake.

If you want to experience the atmosphere of this charming village fully you must live in this hotel! It is an old hotel with wooden stuff there, a delicious breakfast and an incredible view. I thought that it would be the problem to share the bathroom with others but it was totally fine for me. Just look at the view!

The Gasthof Simony hotel is located close to the dock. It is also located directly in front of the Marktplatz, one of the main attraction in Hallstatt. The staff is friendly. The room is comfortable and clean. It is an old building so the inside looks old and classic. But the toilet and bathroom looks like it was recently renovated so it is clean. You can also see the great view of the lake from the back of the hotel.

The only con is the wooden floor of the hotel is quite creaky so you can hear people walking in the hotel. Even if you are inside the room.

PS: there is also a cat (sometimes) around the hotel. Which is very calm.

We spent two nights here and I must say that everything was excellent. The location of the hotel is quite close to all the destination As for the room, even though being small, but it is excellent and surprisingly comfortable. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others having a trip to hallstat.

The hotel is very comfortable. In addition, it is very near to the town and the boat station is in just 5 minutes distance. The hotel price is economic as it included breakfast as well.

Hotel interior is made out with wodden floor, people walking always lead to some creaky sound. The bathroom is shared, whereas the toilet is dedicated for our double room.

In general, it is a great experience with the hotel environment and friendly staff. We enjoy the trip staying here.

After walking in the hall, you will see an aged but cozy feelings welcoming you. It’s an more than 500 years old building well maintained. You will see great art works through out the hotel and many old furnitures.

Beautiful old guest house on the lake, the breakfast served on the lake is worth the price of the room alone. It’s a fabulous experience. And you get to enjoy busy Hallstatt before the hoards of tourists arrive. The rooms are comfy. We had an en-suite with original tiles from what looked like the 60s! It was great! Beds and rooms were comfy and cleaned every day by the friendly girls that ran the hotel. Highly recommended.

We booked the lake & mountain view room directly through their website and it is indeed have a nice view. Everything is great & it is better than my expectations.

This hotel is very near to the ferry station (cost now 3.5 euro per trip for each pax) and major hot spots. I.e., near to church, eateries, etc.

The breakfast is also adequate server American style and to me is good enough too. Hotel price also very good price.

Underrated in my opinion. Owner is very friendly and hotel has charming medieval vibes. Check in early to get sea view, I arrived after 6pm and got a room facing walls. Try out the restaurant for dinner next door. They serve really good schnitzel and steak.

If you're looking for all the comfort of a modern hotel, this place is not for you. But if you want an authentic experience in an old guesthouse, at a splendid location between the old town of Hallstatt and the lake, you won't be disappointed. The house has old furniture and creaking stairs, but also paintings, comfy beds and the best view you can dream of. The breakfast was alright, it's got things for all tastes (I had some yogurts and cereals, my friend had bread, ham and cheese).

Don't expect a 5 star hotel. Expect faded grandeur. Some reviews complain about shared bath rooms, when you book it says whether you share or have private facilites. We had a room with private bath room. We had a fantastic view over the town square. The floor boards creaked, old furniture, but comfortable beds. Very old bathroom fitting, but served their purpose.

The cost of accommodation in Hallstatt is high, Simony is affordable, you would pay less for the same elsewhere, but you are in Hallstatt !

If you book direct, you need to pay in cash as they do not take cards at the premises.

The breakfast was good, particularly when you have it in the garden at the lake side.

The really great thing is that you have access to the garden, any time of day, throughout your stay. Grab some beers, sir in the garden, drink in the view, you feel like you are disconnected from the rest of the world.
