Gasthof Weisses Lamm

This place is a unfounded gem in Hallstatt. I don’t agree with the previous comment saying that the hot water and hairdryer electronic supply in the hotel room is insufficient.
I stayed in this hotel in late Nov on my birthday, it was 0 degree at that time. I was abit worried when I saw the 1 star Google review before arriving the hotel. On that day, we arrived at 12pm. The hotel staff said we need to come back at 3pm for check in and so we left our luggage there. He was very busy but still very willing to response to us.
We came back to the hotel at 5pm, the hotel was ready for us. The room was spacious, warm and very clean. Not a problem to use hot water and hairdryer at all.
Then we went down to the hotel restaurant for dinner (as it closes at 7pm). Max is super friendly, he knew many languages and recommended us some very nice cuisine. I think this restaurant is much more better than the highest rating restaurant in the town in terms of the price, food and service (we went there for lunch on the same day).
I don’t know why this hotel and restaurant are so underrated, that’s why I spent few minutes to write this review, hope it is useful to all the travelers.

The restaurant is fabulous - great service and food. My vegetarian wife and my carnivore self both found options that we were immensely happy with. They're going to have to roll me out of here...

I had no problems with the service, the lake view room was clean and tidy. The view was spectacular. We were happy during our stay.

No complaints at all. I dont think this place loses out to other hotels just because it is cheaper. In fact, I find this hotel more bang for buck.
Austrians are generally no nonsense, but if you need their help, they will be there to render the needed assistance.
My wife and I are more than satisfied with this place and the staffs who helped us.

We booked a lake view suite and a lake view suite we got.

The restaurant where we have breakfast is great too, serves smooth black coffee.

Pls note, they are strict with their check ins at 3pm. Dont blame them if you arrive early and got rejected an early check in as they put in effort to ensure rooms are in good condition. Just plan your travel to make sure you arrive somewhere around check in timing to minimise wasting your own time.

Will definitely recommend this place to friends looking for more affordable stay in Hallstatt.

We had a very very enjoyable stay here. Location is great and room is very clean. The Mountain View balcony is just awesome!!!

I had read quite a lot of people keep saying that the staff are rude but we don’t really receive such feeling. They may be quite busy during lunch time as they run the hotel and restaurant in family based which is totally understandable. That’s why they won’t say too much in details and just want you need to know when you check in. People tell me that some Austrian are very direct and don’t like saying causal unnecessary things. I truly respect this.

Their restaurant is very good and value for money which I had left an other review with pictures.

For me, maybe I kept smiling and be nice, the old lady (I guess is the owner Doris) gave me waved hand and smile from the kitchen to me after I had breakfast which made my day!!🤩 see? She is not that rude as people say.

Anyway, I love the hotel and very value for money. Moreover, the quite morning and night time are just so fantastic which you will get your self very peaceful all the times.

(Just for other guests reminder, please book reservation for dinner in the town if you want to have some good food, otherwise you won’t get dinner or not taste ful food)

When we visit Hallstatt, we lunch here. A great place with warm atmosphere. Food tasty slightly expensive. Recommended.

Pity the only waiter working there. Waited for quite a while before he took our orders, but he had a nice attitude. Definitely worth more than the current 3.8 rating - great food at great value.

We love our room 31! It is the one on top, with an adorable balcony, a view over the lake and a stunning bathroom. The furniture is modern, smooth, cozy; the colors chosen sunny and warm. A perfect nest for your little getaway!
If you arrive early, be warned: The staff are adamant about the check-in-time starting at 1500. You can leave your luggage and go for a walk; however, the guests' luggage will pile up at the counter, for everyone to see.
The instruction folder in the room that gives you all the useful details about the house and its amenities comes in German and English, which is no surprise; the outstanding quality of the translation is, though.
The restaurant has its own, unusually large terrace; their menu sounds appealing and is not expensive, at all... Having tried it, we can only say that it was nice, satisfying and properly presented.
In a nutshell: a lot of bang for your buck!

I was 4 nights there. Personal is always there to help, very kind and nice. I was leaving very early in the morning (before breakfast) and they packed it for the trip.

The view is amazing, the room was clean. They have a restaurant there :) I recommend it 100% loved my stay there :)

FOOD!! We didn't stay here but came for dinner after it was recommended by the hotel we were staying in nearby. It was DELICIOUS! We brought friends back the following night. The red wine is amazing and so cheap. And the food is all brilliantly portioned - it's huge and mains average about €11-14 which is ridiculously cheap for Hallstatt! The wait staff were super lovely and attentive. Remember - eateries in Hallstatt in general close really early (around 8:30pm) so best to be seated before then if you want to enjoy a long dinner. We were a little later our first night and they were super accommodating and let us stay late. GET THE MEAL OF THE DAY! on the front cover - best value for money and the best dish we had.

We had lunch of schnitzel and a ham and cheese schnitzel both cooked well with a side of new potatoes and a tasty mixed salad. The restaurant was busy and just one waiter but he was great. Food came out in a reasonable time. Dessert of apple strudel took a while to arrive but was delicious when it did. I would absolutly return.

We booked 3 rooms in this hotel for 3 nights. We had the most lovely and enjoyable stay in this hotel. The Holls family were very warm and friendly. The hotel was centrally located and within reach to all major attractions. The rooms were clean and well insulated and there were even chocolates placed on our pillows. The restaurant food was lovely. We really enjoyed the food there. We ate in the hotel restaurant 3 nights in a row during our 3 nights stay there as the waiter and staff were all friendly, and food was value for money and delicious. Loved the set menu there. The trout served was very fresh and tender and portion was big. On our last day we had to check out early to catch an early train. The Holls family packed a sumptuous and generous takeaway breakfast for us. The Holls family even personally came to bid farewell to us when we left. Thank you so much for the lovely memories you had given us during our stay in Hallstatt. We will definitely stay here again should we visit Hallstatt again. A well deserved 5 stars!!🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

We were here for one week on our honeymoon. We really enjoyed our stay in this gasthof, the room was clean with awesome view from the balcony. The staff was friendly, meals were fine. We enjoyed breakfasts, dinners too.

This Gasthof Weisses Lamm is an excellent hotel that I would like to recommend to everyone. We put up one night on April 14. The room is large with spectacular view from balcony. The staff are friendly, and they serve excellent traditional Austrian food for breakfast. We had dinner there as well and the set menu offered fresh fish, salad, soup and cake for very reasonable price. The location is excellent with a few minutes walking to the ferry dock. I have no complaint and I wish to stay there again if I ever come to the beautiful Hallstatt in future.

Service was great. We sat on the patio and had a fish dish and pizza, both were delicious. Also quiet compared to other places.
