Gasthof - "Grüner Anger"

We had 3 rooms and I have to tell - Amazing accommodation. The rooms and bathrooms were very clean (looks like new), confortable beds. Private parking, a lot of fresh food during breakfast. Dining room was also very clean and has great style. Owner was very pleasant and communication by email before our arrival was fine :). He also provided to us cable car discount. We could stay longer time in parking place after our check out. The best choice for us during our Hallstatt visit. Thank you

Very quiet and calm guest house close to downtown Hallstatt. Breakfast included, parking right on the premises, and affordable prices. Host was kind and responsive. Rooms are a bit small but have everything you need.

Grüner Anger is a clean and pleasant hotel in a very good location. Above all, I love the hotel more because of the kindness of Grüner Anger's owner. At around 19:00 on July 4, 2023, my family's rental car had a puncture. The rental car didn't have a spare tire, so it was a difficult situation. There were very few vacancies in Halstadt at the time, and fortunately, two of my family members stayed at Haus Trausner and two others at Grüner Anger. The next morning, Grüner Anger's owner sought help from several car repair shops and tow truck companies, who transported our car to the Voilswagen service center in Bad Ischl, 25 km away, to replace the tires. In the process, the owner of Grüner Anger gave my two family members a consideration to eat breakfast for free. Also, this hotel is as clean and well-managed as Halstadt Lake, and the breakfast is delicious. Like many other reviews, once you stay at this hotel, you will feel like revisiting it. If I visit Halstadt again, I want to stay at this hotel again.I want to repay the kindness I received at that time.

Very nice hotel and very clean. The breakfast had many varieties, they also offer dinner if you order it before hand for 14 euros (3 course meal) and they have a vending machine with drinks so you can serve your self whenever you need. The view from all sides is amazing each room has a nice view on the mountains or the lake. I absolutely recommend it ;)) and will definitely come back again

Fantastic hotel! The staff was so nice and helpful. The morning breakfast was on par with any gourmet restaurant. The rooms were modern an seemed new. Unbelievable mountain view from our room. Great location right next to the salt mine (Salz) and waterfall hike!

Hallstatt itself was overcrowded and full of selfie stick-wielding tourists, so we were a bit anxious that accommodation would be poor, since they could probably get away with it being so. But we were pleasantly surprised. Comfy beds, clean rooms, a new bathroom, and a/c in the room. Breakfast was only middling, but did the trick.

It's super clean and I had the best sleep in my Europe trip. The host was also very friendly and the breakfast was delicious. Would definitely recommend it! We went on a snowy day and the place is very peaceful tranquil and calm amid the snow - beautiful place and unforgettable experience!

We had a most lovely stay at the hotel, the owner was very lovely and offered information about sightseeing and such. The room was huge, and perfectly equipped. The breakfast was plentiful and very tasty. I did not find anything negative whatsoever, I would be proud to recommend the Grüner Anger to anyone. My only regret is that we could not stay longer this time.

Hotel's owner is very nice and helpful. The location is a bit far from the church but room is clean and comfy. Breakfast is good. There is no elevator so please ask for lower floor if you travel with a big baggage.

Very nice bed and breakfas in the quiet (especially after sunset), less touristy part of Hallstatt and yet a nice 10 minute walk to the historic city center. The rooms are furnished in a simple oldfashioned way and clean, the breakfast is very good and springbox beds are nice and firm, and one of the most comfortable I've ever slept on. I was a bit annoyed that the window curtains passed the light through the first night/morning, only to figure out the next day that all windows actually have electric blinds that completely block out any outside light! A suggestion to the owners: maybe there should be a clearer indication new to the blinds switch or something. Anyway, I wholeheartedly recommend this accomodation.

Very nice hotel and very clean. The breakfast had many varieties included chicken soup and fried rice that match asians' flavor. And the coffee machine use fresh milk so Latte macchiato is so great.

Room was so gorgeous, scenic view from the room was fantastic, everywhere looked like the town in the fairy-tale. Owner was really kind and their food is also good. We will definitely come here again. I don't really want to recommend this place to my friend because I don't want everyone to come here :)

Great place to stay while in the Hallstatt area. Friendly owners, who are only to happy to help with everything from planning on which hikes to go on to giving you a ride to the boat. Great food and a nice place to rest your head. They also have free bikes for their guest to use. This is a great find in a great place!

Friendly service, generous breakfast, comfortable room, free parking, easy walking distance to historical centre, free wifi. We ate dinner here as well and for 11€ we got a very nice meal of soup salad main course and desert. Would stay again. Great value.

All hotel facilities are new and very clean, everything work perfectly. The host was so nice and helpful. Highly recommend this place.

I am currently here, and I have to say, what an amazing place! The breakfast is very delicious, staff is so friendly and they do a good job in making our stay as comfortable as possible. I love it! Near everything we need, we don't need to use car, that I call a real vacay!
