After our disappointing experience at another restaurant in Hallstatt, my family and I decided to give this one a try. Initially, we ordered tomato soup, bread, and coffee, but ended up ordering more because everything was incredibly delicious. The soup was especially outstanding, and the bread was freshly made, one by one. We were pleasantly surprised when the owner offered us a taste of their Thai red curry, knowing we were Thai ourselves. Its spicy and flavorful taste made us feel nostalgic for home. The owner and staff were exceptionally welcoming, providing us with a heartwarming experience at this cafe. The owner’s genuine kindness and hospitality truly made us feel at home, turning our day around.

A must visit when in Hallstatt! A great selection of food and drinks with the option to dine indoors or out, it’s the perfect spot to stop off for a bite to eat. We tried the flatbreads and had a slice of cake and it was delicious! The staff were so friendly and great to chat with. I loved the homely atmosphere and I’ll be sure to stop by when I visit next time!

Of all the restaurants I visited during one month in Italy and Austria, Ursula the owner here was the friendliest and most welcoming person by far. I appreciated the simple and healthy food on offer as typical Austrian fare is not suitable for me being vegetarian and gluten free. I enjoyed delicious soup and cheesecake, so good I ate here both nights I stayed in Hallstatt. Be mindful this is a small Cafe with limited seating so cannot accommodate large groups. It is cash only, same as several other restaurants in Hallstatt. Also the signs clearly state to wait to be seated and that you cannot sit at the tables outside if you order takeaway, and i dont see anything wrong with that . Austrian people I think like to have rules and order so we need to respect that. I observed Ursula interact with people from many different cultures even conversing in Thai and Korean. Ursula it was a pleasure to meet you and thanks for welcoming me into your lovely place.

Amazing Italian spot, and possibly the only spot with ice coffee😇 thank you to the lady at the front we really enjoyed our meal and coffee.

Cozy little establishment with such kind owners. Lots of homemade food! The ginger carrot soup was especially stand out. Definitely would recommend if you’re looking for a relaxing spot to get some quality food in Hallstatt.

The soup was sensational here and the lovely gentleman taking the orders was very attentive and friendly. I cannot recommend this place enough. Thank you so much for the lovely experience and beautiful food made.

Interesting varied menu. When you have had enough schnitzel and potatoes try here. Fantastic chicken curry. As with many small cafes you need to order at the counter (self service) as stated on the many signs. Friendly staff. We would return.

Boss is friendly. I can feel the openness when we interact with the boss. She can say some simple words for several languages.

We ordered the red curry chicken rice. I can say it is the most asia taste I ever tasted throughout my trip. I look forward for next visit and hopefully there will be new menu by then.

A few vegetarian options to choose from. The flatbread #1 was really good, and only took about 10 minutes to get once ordered. I didn’t experience what some of the other reviews say about the service: The gentleman who took my order was friendly and helpful, as was the lady cooking in the kitchen.

I'm so happy I tried this place! Stopped in for a quick lunch (carrot soup- yum!) and was impressed by how friendly the owner was. I came back for dinner and a drink (Flatbread with spinach and goat cheese, and an elderberry spritz), talked to her and an equally friendly staff member, and had a lovely dinner. The food was great, and there were a number of options that would meet different dietary needs. But what really impressed me was her remembering me and continuing our conversation, when I'm sure she saw 100s of tourists today.
100% recommend!

Lovely place in the heart of Halstatt. Very friendly service from the owners. Loved the spicy soup and the vegetarian flat bread. It was pouring so I came back for a hot chocolate and that was delicious!

Incredibly unique find in the picturesque village of Hallstatt. The owners are incredibly kind and incredibly hardworking. The food ridiculously good and fairly priced considering the swoths of tourists they embrace daily. Well done and I cannot wait to visit again. PS the advice to go to Gosau Lake was incredible thank you!!

The best soup, cakes and gin punch in Hallstatt. Cosy and welcoming place with a quality food. Definitely worth adding to your ‚to do and try’ list

I don’t think reviews are fair here, I think a lot of people are just pissed they don’t take the card when it’s clearly stated before you enter on signs and as you enter almost everywhere. It’s also like this in the majority of the stores/restaurant in Hallstatt. Just learn to read people. If this small business doesn’t want to pay fees to financial institutions that’s their right.

Now food wise, we went there 2 nights in a row for some burgers (fish burger, pulled pork burger) and they were excellent, along with a nice cheesecake. This is definitely a small business with some food that feels very home-y and definitely in the comfort food category. Service was impeccable on both nights and it was different staff too. If you find these people rude like some reviews stated, I think you need to question your behaviour as a tourist in a city thats often overcrowded.

Super happy to have stopped here. Grabbed a flat bread and a piece of cheesecake with some wine. So delicious, staff is super sweet. Lucky to have snagged an outdoor seat

The low score doesnt do this little resto justice!! Food are nice and prices are reasonable. Owners are a lovely couple and very cheerful. Especially the lady who mainly works the kitchen, very attentive for us even she was in the back cooking. Food comes in portions that are just right, soups are easily one of the best that i ever have. Coffee are way better than i expected too.

Haha yes we are the ones who didnt get the pulled pork burger lol, now I've seen so many people speak highly of the burger, I am definitely trying next time in Hallstaat! I actually went back the next morning hoping to get breakfast but sadly you were closed.

Loved the food served here. Ordered both their soups and was amazing! Quick to serve the soup as well.

The only thing better than the food is the incredible people who work there. The service is excellent and they make you feel so welcomed in Hallstatt. A perfect location to stop and grab something to eat or have a drink during the early evening. They have a fine selection of local wines with palette perfect recommendations based on your personal tastes. Definitely recommend for either those staying in Hallstatt or if you are only in for a day visit.

An amazing place for drinking a coffee and for having lunch. We went two times and both were great. We tried coffee + apple cake, and soup + pizza, really really good. The service was perfect. Highly recommended
